Also, side note Armin Van Buuren performing drag and making a public statement of support for the larger lgbtq community as a whole kind of just made my night

The Trance community is so fucking awesome man. Despite the weather and coming down with a flu causing me to miss A&B, Every single person I met this weekend at ABGT 700 were so nice and caring Huge shoutout to my tent neighbor who checked on me throughout the night to make sure I was doing OK 💜

I don't know how to explain how much this song means to me. The countless hours listening to this track lead me on my musical journey that connected me with friends, found family, and loved ones, tangentially pushing me into the VR space, and later pushed me to pursue my career in Space. So happy 🥲

Woojers are super awesome. Used to use mine daily back in the early vr club days and it elevated the experience quite a bit. Enjoyable for passive listening too, but Def most valuable in vr clubs and other games that really utilize ambient or rhythmic sound

I cant possibly put into words all the things this community has meant to me. And although I am sad to see Shelter close, I'm eternally grateful for the chance to have been part of it. The community is why I stayed in the scene, and I know it will continue on.

140

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

I was instantly attached. And when I got word of a potential experience in Seattle, I jumped at the chance. I had never been to the city, and was excited to meet the ~30 other people that went. The 7 events now known as Sheltercon form the deepest and happiest memories I hold.

150

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

I went for the music, but found so so much more. A community so accepting and supportive I fell into tears. I had been on the edge of despair, and a single night changed my life forever. I felt happy to be alive.

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

Let me tell a small story. July marks 5 years of stumbling across a small interview on Twitter where Porter talked about this cool secretive underground club scene in VR. That night I purchased my first VR headset. That Friday I attended my first VR club. That Saturday I attended Shelter.

i've spent the last week or so in a bit of a haze. my words probably aren't going to add much on top of whatever's been said, but i'll say em anyhow feelings of disappointment, frustration, betrayal are normal. they're going to surface in all kinds of ways. anger, angst, manic solution-seeking, etc

It may be tainted in your mind, but shelter has been a significant part of many people's lives. Invalidating that and boiling everything down to a terrible situation actively hurts people who hold the same pain you do. This isn't about protecting a brand. It's about protecting people we care about

130

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

One more thing I want to say, regardless if shelter lives on or ends, please don't villify anyone representing the club or it's logos, including the team. The logo and the club represents the Community, it's memories, and their collective values, not any one person or their actions.

150

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

Hey! It's been such a long time! Hope you've been doing well c:

110

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

If you have concerns just talk about it. Stop driving your friends who are already depressed about everything even deeper down a hole when none of us like what happened. None of us wanted this.

030

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I say one thing about us needing to come together as a community, and it gets taken as me not caring for those involved. Continuing to witch hunt people that have the same beliefs as you or repeatedly harping on the same facts starts to come off as virtue signaling rather than actual care

140

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

I apologize if this seems in bad taste. But I sincerely don't think we should be hunting each other down over values we all generally agree on based on a case none of us were involved in.

030

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

The best thing we can do as a community is hold our values strong, hold each other close, and move on together continuing to create and grow in the space we all love. This isnt an easy thing to navigate, but we have eachother.

120

Tainu @tainu.bsky.social · 15/07/2026

The only thing I want to say about everything: The only two people who truly know what happened in that room have made their statements. Regardless of your stance, nothing said is going to change what happened/how one or the other feels. Let the courts and the two involved handle that. (cont.)
