Is there anything in life that's worse at finding stuff than the Finder's search bar (besides Windows search)? Been using macOS for 15 years, this thing has always been useless.

I'm so thankful to not have a fanless MacBook in these dire times of heatwaves. As efficient as Apple Silicon Macs are, they too overheat easily if you're working by 30°C without blasting the fans at 100% 😶‍🌫️

Love your Kagi themes btw, that's really cool! Been wanting to do stuff like this with Bonjourr for years. I tried an iOS 6 one a while back but it's not easy to pull off. I want to try again soon when I get a bit more time

Unlikely, the UI would get really messy with that many options! We’ll definitely update our documentation with CSS snippets for all those though, that way people will still be able to customise things easily if they want :)

Exactly! Optimising the viewing experience for portrait images is the main thing I set out to do when building it. The widgets on the side is a feature that's already available though, you can do it using the page layout tools: bonjourr.fr/docs/overvie...

I added a blog section to my site and posted my first article today! It's about a small script I made to export data from Stripe. Got a few more ideas to write on, I'll probably be using the blog to document stuff I do that might be of use to other people. Been wanting to do this for a while 🤗

Are all websites for SaaS and even modern open source projects vibe coded these days? They all objectively look great, but man do they also all look the same. I don't know how to feel about it

I've been trying out a new "frame mode" feature in Bonjourr that allows you to fit an entire image in a frame, so you can see the whole thing without cropping. Could be cool for a movie posters setup, or maybe if you want to use your phone's portrait photos. No ETA but I'm pretty excited about it!

Some of the best computer stuff I've learned in recent years I probably should have learned earlier: - close/open tabs with mouse wheel click - delete full words with arrow + backspace - navigate full words with alt + arrows - scroll horizontally with shift + mouse wheel [computer] life changing

I spent a considerable amount of time yesterday the eyes glued to my screen to _finally_ fix the border-radius on link icons in Bonjourr. Looks so much better now! I'm really excited about this update 🔥

Apparently some breeders have been trying to create a red variant of African grey parrots. And it's... yeah, not sure why it grosses me out so much but it does. They're like the pugs of parrots

Also on that note, why is there no way in HTML or JS to bring up the native emoji input of an OS? Like <input type="emoji" /> or something. It seems too obvious for something that doesn't exist 🤔

000

Tahoe 🪵 @tahoe.be · 31/01/2025

Oh and a reliable emoji selector on macOS would be nice too. One that doesn’t take two thousands years to open, and actually opens every time you ask for it.

Tahoe 🪵 @tahoe.be · 31/01/2025

All I want in my software life is a manually selectable list of « most used » emojis on iOS and macOS. Been thinking about this for years, it would save me so much time. Yet it seems too much to ask.

I take a look at Bonjourr's Twitter timeline once in a while. Even just a few weeks ago, it was mostly all tweets about UI design and concepts, I was actually surprised at how not shit it was. Now all of a sudden it's just garbage soft porn, football, politics and the likes. Gotta love it

I remember they made a cute little vinyl figurine of their mascot back in the day. I'm not really one for collecting this kind of things but for some reason I think I'd really love to have this one!
