The trouble is over once again, and for a second time NightAkame has come out victorious! Thanks to all the players and everyone who joined the stream and @khalil.paragonfgc.com for doing a watch party on their channel again. Means a lot to me!

Fun fact: The "canonical" name of that 2B is actually called 2P. It debuted in Soulcalibur 6 where it was the alternate colour for 2B (hence: 2nd player -> 2P) and got the moniker from the player base. Later they actually canonized it in FF14 lmao.

And there you have it, the riots have been quelled, the troublemakers have been captured and peace has returned to this humble town... Or has it...? The last one standing was @dudeakoff.bsky.social showcasing those metera buffs in action. Thanks everyone for watching! #GBVSR

Made it S+ with Vane on GBVSR. Very happy with my performance.

Had a blast playing the game for a couple of hours, a few hiccups but so far so good. The netcode is miles better. They rollback doesn't freak out when the fps goes down for one player and even when it does go to 8 frames, it's still doable. Very impressive work.

The new Balatro-type Mahjong game is really fun.

This is probably the best clip I can show a person if they ask what kind of game Samurai Shodown is.

Started picking up ranked in SF6 after not really playing the game aside from just doing combos for fun in training room and I've gotten to Plat which is neat. Also I managed to finally pull off this punish.

A huge PSA on how the background recording thing functions. For the "All Other Games" section it will make a single background recording for all the other games.

Taffer @tafferfgc.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

So far from what I've noticed at least on the storage side, the background replays do not take as much space as you would think. Valve is using a weird file type that segments the footage into chunks but isn't viewable outside of Steam unless you export it. The settings also give you an estimate

The first disk space GB is for 1080p footage, the latter is for 4K. So 2 hours of 1080p gameplay would be around 10.8GB and 2 hours of 4K footage would be 34.2GB

The new steam recording features are fantastic for fighting games, getting to essentially do a twitch clip in real time for what happened in the last 30 minutes (It's 2 hours by default) is really good for finding those hype situations that get lost in the replay archives.

Btw if you're wondering how many times certain characters have been free during #GBVSR. I do have an excel sheet I've made and here's a graph

If you see this, post 4 fighting game mains I can't really choose a main from GBVSR since I keep changing characters every patch, but I'll go with Gran since he's my comfort pick. But yeah two of these characters are button charge characters... I'm sensing a pattern...
