As a GRC analyst I’m usually directing the engineering teams on what security controls they need to implement or remediate in order to achieve compliance. But the engineer in me wants to get in the field and implement these controls myself 😅 like gimme an AWS or GCP account & I’ll do it fr lol 😩

Random tech post - our boss got us a subscription to lets defend so we can do the AWS Security path. I finished it and now I’ll be setting up DVWA & will configure a WAF, set up cloud watch metrics & other AWS services, and will run attacks against it so I can trigger the defenses I’ve set up

I have had similar experiences. I always recommend freecodecamp or something on YouTube, but I think I've only once received a positive response. I think that without finding joy in achievement, there really isn't a good way to build any career.
