Snacks grow on trees. I was tired of big chip bags blocking all the smaller snacks
Photo of a crafty chip bag rack. Cardboard cut into the shape of a tree branch with brown paper crinkled on it to be bark. Clothes pins holding chips are affixed to it

I am so tired. I wish I could trust that taking a nap would make me not tired afterwards.

I am reading "Running Close to the Wind" by Alexandra Rowland right now, and this is giving big Avra energy. He is a deeply ridiculous silly little slut and if you haven't read his antics you might appreciate them

I have a decent amount of stuff on my belt at pirate festivals, lol
Photo of a double layer belt with things buckled onto it, laying on a bed. The belt consists of a wide blue band of contoured leather (flat across the top edge with some points along the lower edge that feature D rings) with a ring of narrower black leather belt encircling it. The black belt has sections that snap open so that things can be affixed between the two belt layers. Starting from the front left, the items attached to the belt are:
- a metal mug with many site tokens (which are mostly wooden tokens on string which are worn as necklaces at events as proof of registration) decorating its handle,
- a Leatherman multi tool in a black holster with a broken snap,
- a light blue belt flag with the initials SOL stamped on it (the S is 2 curved swords, the O is a skull with crossed spice grinders under it, the L is an ax),
- a brown leather folio, which, if opened would show a selection of tiny spice vials, and
- a beat up black purse that's been repurposed as a belt pouch.

Yeah, the years-old "Bus stop closed" sign covers just feel like insult to injury. I live right by Des Moines Memorial Drive and I appreciate the multiuse path there, but it's a bummer that I'm a 20 minute walk, past several "Bus Stop Closed" signs to reach the nearest bus

10 minute drive to Angle Lake and 50 minutes via train, 10 min walk. Reasonable. Then up to my friend's house, which is a 10 minute straight shot by bus from another light rail stop. It would def be easier to ride transit more often if more things were this well connected.

Public Transit sure is great when it actually goes where you want. I struggle to get myself to transit as much as I might like, when it takes 2-3x longer to transit than to drive. But today, driving from my home in Burien to the university district for an appt, would've taken 50 minutes, vs

I did feel it! I failed to convert timezones correctly and didn't realize that this was the one I felt, so when I came across the "I felt it" site, I reported it as an unknown event

and I thought the phrase "the internet and I grew up together". Then I went to fact check that impression. Looks like yes-ish. The WWW, which is what most people think of as the internet, and I are very close to the same age. (Wikipedia says it started 12 March 1989)

The world wide web is just under a year older than me. I was just trying to coach someone a couple decades older than me on how to do some stuff on a site we use. I was trying to phrase a request for her to go over a draft I wrote about how to do another task on the site,

I hung up a spice rack in the bathroom for our overflowing nail polish collection. I didn't have pretty fasteners on hand to hang it, so I made screw covers with air dry clay.
Photo of the top of a rack, which has 2 screw eyes for hanging coming out of the top end. The eyes are hooked on to screws, which you can't really see, because there's a white bunny head with black eyes covering each one. The bunny head screw covers are made of air dry clay.Closer photo of just one of the rack's screw eyes, hanging on a screw that's in the wall. My hand has removed the bunny screw cover and is showing the screw head indentation in the back of the cover.

Alt: A little 3D animated anime person (possibly from Genshin Impact?) jumping up and down in excitement with a caption that says "i love aris!!!" The original caption is in white, the "aris" is written in black over something else (possibly "jean")

I have definitely heard of people successfully proposing alterations to their leases. Idk if such big corporate ones. It could be worth a try... If I were turning it in on site, I'd make a copy, make my alterations on one, try to get them to agree, but have a signed unaltered one to give as backup:/

That includes getting a second round of HPV just to cover more strains than were available when I was a teen and getting mpox vaccine. My pre-age-18 total is 26
Screenshot of a spreadsheet listing all the vaccines RS has had in their life.
Lifetime total is 57 injections, before 18 years old, 26 injections.
Here's a count of each injection type:
5 doses polio, 2 of MMR (which is measles/mumps/rubella), 3 HIB (haemophilis influenza B), 10 total DTP and TDP (different blends of diptheria, pertussis, and tetanus), 3 hepatitis B, 1 chicken pox, 2 meningococcal, 3 HPV 4-valent, 2 HPV 9 valent (I may have gotten the 3rd of those...), then, the non-standard ones for the US: 2 hepatitis A, 1 yellow fever, 1 typhoid, 3 rabies pre-exposure, 3 TB tests (not really vaccines, but similar enough), 2 M pox, then seasonal: 7 covid, 9 influenza

I suppose you could go very mundane like how many pairs of shoes you own, closest book to you, ummm favorite Lisa Frank motif? Creepiest toy you had as a kid (I just looked at my bookshelf and saw my dancing clown music box).... It's hard to think of ones that aren't security questions 😂

Turns out, it was strep! Anecdotally, strep is going around, so if you're sore throated in Seattle, seek swabbing for a chance at swallowable salvation! (Antibiotics, great at knocking out strep. People, including medprof, tend to assume adult sore throat is viral, so the strep news is important)

Wah, now I'm up to 101.0°F. New high score for this bout of illness. At least solidly vindicated. A lot of people don't consider 99 a fever, even though it's 2 degrees above my normal (I believe I've heard that the average normal temp for humans has been decreasing), but no one would think 101 fine

RS @tadaris.bsky.social · 16/07/2026
Wah. I hate being sick. It's not too bad rn. Sore throat, + last night temp of 99.3. This morning, back down to my more usual 97.1, but now it's climbing back up 😭

Yeah, pretty sure. I mean, a lot of our local elections only have "Democrats" running anyway, at least as serious candidates. For state wide elections it does tend to be a Dem and a Rep that are the top 2

I'll set up my phone playing a show on the table beyond the mug, and just watch that while taking deep breaths of tea steam. Then when the tea is cool enough to drink, I'll drink some of it, now we're hydrating.

Ooh, yeah, I like to take my hugest travel mug, fill it with mint tea (leave the tea bag or strainer ball in. Mint tea can't be too strong, IMO) then sit at a table with the lid off the mug, head over it, blanket over head, closing me and the mug in. Make a mint sauna for my face.
