Move, shoot, communicate. This was a fun duo stage that required each shooter to cover the other by engaging a dueling tree as the other moves to the next position. It certainly added a lot of complexity - please ignore that I forgot my rifle condition. 😅

Another Milsim West has come and gone! We yet again secured and held our main objective, but the enemy really made us fight tooth and nail for three days, every step of the way. Many blanks and BBs were fired, few hours were slept (we even got shot in our sleep), and a good time was had by all.

A mismatch of identifying information on the 4473, including gender between that and your government ID, will deny you a sale. It's going to be really interesting to see how this sticks and if it's remotely even able to be enforced at all.

1140-AA64: Selecting Biological Sex on ATF Forms - NPRM

ATF is proposing to amend its regulations to clarify that, in response to questions about sex on ATF forms, individuals should select their biological sex. This refers to the individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female and does not include the concept of gender identity. These are clarifying amendments to align ATF’s regulatory forms with the President’s signed Executive Order 14168, Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government and do not alter any substantive eligibility criteria.

I'm shaking the rust off for competition season, and I've got plenty to work on! Still, I ran pretty consistent B class runs at this USPSA classifier, and shot all alphas here. I'm going to really push myself to make A class by the end of the year, wish me luck!

How it started vs. how it’s going (don’t you ever just take all your optics off so they can hang out?). I tried so hard to love LPVOs, and I’ve tried others since my first, but we just never really got along. LPVOs truly are the jack of all trades of optics, which can be a good thing for some!

The more I use this optic, the more it feels at home on the AR-15, and the more it feels like the AR-15 - despite numerous attempts to replace it since, it still persists largely unchallenged in its class in any meaningful way.

If it feels like we've been here before, it's because we've been here for quite a while now.

It feels like there are no political or military objectives at this point because the facade has fallen on every front. The logical end game of the military industrial complex is not to win anything at this scale of empire. It is to expend munitions and restock them until climate collapse takes us all. It is to secure contracts - yes, even the ones sold as “humanitarian”. It is an economic feedback loop of an industry fueled by blood and wreckage. It has proliferated every segment of our society, and we are collectively footing the bill in more ways than one.
