Creativity is an act of resistance. May you find more strength in yourself. It felt "magic" writing this Post shaped around a poem inspired by The Tinman in The Wizard of Oz. The Goal Guidance/Poetry Prompt spoke to a lot of people. And it was so fun.

The Wizard of Oz guided me through heartache and into a print anthology during my first year of an annual poetry challenge. Writing Prompt. Goal Guidance.

My Poem Without a Heart

“I insist that our fates are not from our fathers/and mothers, that we create our own.” "Pre-determination", a poem from my upcoming debut poetry collection, “Alert the Oracle”. 🔮

This reflection on how "12 Week Years" helped me with my poetry collection is one of my favorite things I've published. Thankfully, I've felt this almost every week, every new Post. I've got more. I'm honored to be able to share. It's never too late to start something new.

The Wizard of Oz was a huge influence on me as a young girl. I had long felt our friend the Tin Man sabotaged himself. I understood him as I wrote a poem from his POV- 8 years ago. Check it out: open.substack.com/pub/tabithad... And create your refuge. XOXO

🫖I've read Tarot and Tea Leaves for 15 years. I like to joke: 🤲🏻"Palm Reading next lifetime" 🧳Because I wouldn't have to carry around teacups, decks, etc. ✍️🏻I had a good time working on this poem about a palm reader. Thanks for looking:

"Once a palm reader told me"

A poem about acting, yourself, your future, your heart -- and the wild west.

🧵Unique Tea Leaf Reading opportunity in this thread: Writers Retreats can lead to new disciplines outside of writing. 👩🏻‍🌾Going last year inspired me to take gardening very seriously: I'm returning to a retreat features fresh foods that incorporate veggies grown on site.

☔️Oh my! We've got rain all day tomorrow! 📏1/4 inch, 100% chance, 10-20 mph winds. ❓️Do I keep my early spring plants inside instead of continuing to harden them off? 🌦They might like the rain. These plants and I thank you! Today's Day Six of preparing them to grow outdoors. They started inside.
