The npm package is current: @sythos/js_barcode_universal@1.6.4. It is ESM, ships declarations and has zero runtime dependencies. Node 24+ is the baseline; Bun runs the same SDK as an alternative runtime.

A format is not ‘done’ just because our own decoder can round-trip it. The project combines invariants, property tests, independent black-box checks and real scanner/device evidence. If another scanner cannot read it, the victory music stops.

The format list is not shelf decoration. listFormats() reports canWrite and canRead separately, across QR, Data Matrix, Aztec, PDF417, EAN, UPC, GS1, postal families and more. Experimental or bounded profiles are labelled instead of wearing fake moustaches.
