iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

My partner and I contracted Covid at Disneyland in July 2021. We had all of our boosters, so the symptoms were slight.

I managed to get the original soundtrack on vinyl, using a record finding service back in the 70s.

Thanks! I have the WB DVD (one of the "on demand" copies)

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Bonus Day! In 1974 my favorite animated film was UPA's "Gay Purr-ee", a musical with Judy Garland, Robert Goulet, Hermione Gingold, Red Buttons & Paul Frees. The characters are on a clear cell. the background is a paining. I made up the orange kitten for Robespierre.

Thank you space marten! Hope you have a great holiday too!

I can't remember how I came up wit that. but it may have been based on a ashtray my parent's had. Ashtrays used to be everywhere, and were considered thoughtful gifts.

There can never be too many weasels!

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Day 12. 2022. This is the Fur Tree, set up in the library. Theta (the first skiltaire I created) sits with a gift. This actual size plush was made by Julie Bowman who was one of the first to sell tails at furry cons. Stay tuned for a bonus card tomorrow!

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Day11: For my 2005 card I went for a minimalist, simple graphic design. Raani (Vinson Mink), Sy (me), Seriayne, Changa (Changa Husky) I liked how this turned out.

A holiday card with 4 skiltaire (colorful alien weasels) posing in the form of the letters N O E L against a green background.

It's strange that they have a stop-motion style Frosty when the original was 2d hand-drawn.

130

My partner Changa started the project because he was fed up with people trying to make-up a history of the fandom that removed everything we had done. He scanned thousands of documents and put them up on confurence.com.

The museum has such a clever way of displaying the documents. You can pick them up and turn some over, or enlarge them with the overhead projector.

It's a world on VR Chat. You can search for Virtual Furry Museum to find a link. It's a beautiful world created by Sotalo. @sotalo.bsky.social

Well you go ahead and tell it. It's much larger then I am!

Yes, you're right. Certainly not common, but it seems to have become well known in the last few years, mainly due to to the TechMoan YouTube channel.

Thanks! I like the way the poses came out. Pure luck I assure you.

Well, there are tracks and overhead power...

You have a working tefifon?! Could you post pictures?

Thank you! This wasn't my best effort. I do very little art and I have to re-learn Photo Shop every time I do a piece. :(

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Day 10. Skipping many years to 2004. (I may find more eventually), A photo of our real "Fur Tree" With Changa (lying), Seriayne (standing on his back), Sy (me) with Raani (Vinson) on his shoulders. "Zappy Holidays" (skiltaire are electric). Our family for over 20 years.

"Zapppy Holidays" card. Photo of a real decorated tree with 4 skiltaire (colorful alien weasels) drawn around the tree, decorating it.

Here we are at Pormerion in 1987. One of the best pictures my camera timer ever took! This was my pinned picture on that other site. Bluesky doesn't do pinned posts.

This looks like the thing that is in the Garden Grove town square.

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Day 9. 1989 Marker and colored pencil, cutout and pasted on red paper, with shading added. Clockwise: Raani (Vinson), Kawauso (Andre), ? (Noah Miller) ans ? (Shayne Raney), Sy (me) in the center. I made this while visiting Ken Sample in New Jersey for the holiday.

I suppose 36 years does seem like a long time...

We ended up visiting Camufearna twice, Once in 1987 and again in 1996 for the Worldcon in Glasgow. We also visited Portmeiron in Whales, where The Prisoner was filmed.

150

Amazing! Do you have any other photos of your fursuit or other furry events?

120

You know that trick where you hold a finger in the knot while someone else ties the bow? Well, this experiment didn't work as planned. :)

The 12 Cards of Christmas, Day 8. 1987: Painted on tan illustration board, using under-painting for the characters. L standing ? (Lance Rund), ? (John Perchalski) w/ribbon, Tari (Ken Sample) on floor, Sy (me) wrapping gift, Raani (Vinson) and Kawauso (Andre) snoozing. Wish I could remember names.

It was coughing up blood this morning ...

Many cons had special events or variations on normal events that made them interesting. As cons get bigger and happen regularly, the unique things vanish and they all become the same.

My favorite of the RB holiday specials. Personally I think Klaus is derivative and the characters are unlikable. Have you seen The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus? It's also RB, but the story is by L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz)

I asked Rod, who I told about my visits when they happened and he said that Joe was living with the Wisbeskis and that I met him there. So your memory of him giving you my contact information may be the case. I really hate how large holes are developing in my memory.

The funniest story I remember for those visits was them both telling me that they emphasize to everyone that "you Don't want an otter for a pet!" I think on my second visit when I was playing with Lori Lu, completely delighted, Dorothy said softly "you should have an otter..."

070

That may have been the case, but I can't remember. Old age does that to people.

150

I remember Dorothy and Luke though Joe was strange because he slept with Beever.

000

You got contact info for me from Joe Davis? Not sure how that would work, since I never met him. I may have corresponded with him, but I can't remember. I visited the Wisbeski;s in the early 80s, and later in the 90s when they had their male Canadensis. I can't remember the otter's name...

100

It even feels nostalgic for me! The dynamics of my family and friends changed over time, and those changes are reflected in these cards. Each one recalls memories, some good and others... not so.

060

I also contacted Dorothy and Luke Wisbeskie and visited their otters, Lori Lu (L. Canadensis) and Tuggs (Aaian small-clawed) a few times when I was on vacation/work trips back East.

130

I found that a local Regional Occupational facility had an animal rescue center. They had an otter (an Asian species) that they let me visit, I donated money to the group.

000

If I recall Rod and I were interested in your observations of the wild otters that lived in the delta near you, unless I'm mistaken (which could be the case)

141

I have forgotten the skiltaire names of Lance Rund and Steve Corbett, and who Omni was made for. Old age... :(

Michael Fremer, the co-writer/director and music producer also did many of the non-celebrity voices (he was a DJ in the past), Lisbeger voiced Dean Wilson the California otter. The music was by Graham Gouldman (10 CC)
