What is the "Sinclair Research" account and why does it keep posting stuff that's wrong? Is it using that one weird engagement trick?

Never mind unofficial redirection, it's tough enough to get them to deliver to the address that's written on the envelope in the first place. We often get letters for someone in a road half a mile away, popping it back in the post box just results in it arriving at our house again.

Via reddit's /r/spottedonrightmove this is by some margin the most incredible property I've seen for sale to date. A decent size 3 floor workshop with a massive underground tunnel complex and a pool. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/9...

That's not even a fix, because new stuff is often important and relevant. All depends on context and attempts to infer this have been a very mixed bag.

We're at the second or third order effects stage with this, with search engines finding fake circuits generated from hallucinated datasheets, with attribution to people who had no idea this was happening with their name on it. Reinforcing the pinouts from the hallucinations for the next training rev

I'm not going to try but from experience it'll tend to agree with me if I tell it there's a problem, even if I'm wrong.

Pure chaos Google robo-snippet which manages to summarise a similarly generated table differently to what's in the table. For clarity, the table is wrong too and the summary is both wrong and an erroneous summary of the table. Both are incorrect.
Some erroneous information appearing in a Google overview

Funnily enough its roots *are* in a station that occasionally played the stranger side of jazz as well as animal noises. An offshoot of London's eclectic Starpoint FM called Starpoint West, but quickly renamed Phuture FM, settling into house, hiphop and bhangra. Eventually went legal as Asian Star.

I would love to know how they managed to get two completely independent pilots. I can't think of any way to achieve this with any of the transmitters I know about, without doing something really bizarre with cables and Y-adapters.

Philip Bragg @synx508.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Back then they had around 105kHz peak deviation, too, which would've upset a Studer even more.

If you're wondering if this has any effect on sound quality, yes it does, but apparently nobody cares because it has been like this for several years now. Depending on the receiver it can dip into mono at 0.8Hz or the L-R phase can shift between the two pilots at 0.8Hz which causes wild panning.

The two stereo pilot tones of Asian Star 101.6, one of the wonders of the wireless world. 8Hz span here, the 3562A is also a wonder.

Less of a joke and more of a question: How many BT engineers does it take to change a lightbulb because I stopped counting at 30 vans 🤔🧮

They were often two player, designed for social settings, joystick and fire button on both sides but one coin slot. I always preferred this to upright consoles.

Good, it's a daft idea, I recall reading an atco analysis, probably on pprune, suggesting it would only provide marginal benefits of less hold time (reduces CO2) and slightly increase in throughput (increases CO2). Might perform better if Gatwick or Luton closed but that seems unlikely.

Also in a very hard water area, thanks to chalk aquifer. I was lucky it's a machine that permits the door to be opened when it hasn't drained. I've created more foam before, but without heavy towels in the machine, just doing a "drum clean". Foam burst out of door seal and the drawer.

Philip Bragg @synx508.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Simply add too much laundry liquid such that the foam creation is massively excessive. This keeps the water in the machine during the rinse cycle and prevents it draining. The spin cycle won't even begin, it'll go to an emergency drain and this won't work either because the bubbles don't flow out.

I've found a way to stop time indefinitely using something many of us have in our own homes already. Admittedly it only stops washing machine time and it's really inconvenient but it works.

Just whack some vaguely modern robust modulation scheme on 198kHz LW and we'll figure out a way to get it into the SAA5050s. Ofcom can't think of anything better to do with it. Sure, might need more than 9kHz to do it well…

A lot of the companies that do the annoyance on YT are malicious scams involving selling useless products like tiny heaters and air conditioners to vulnerable people for high margins. It's scams all the way down.

I kind of love PHP but Wordpress has always been a torch-bearer for doing *all* the wrong things and still ending up with a successful bit of software. It's architecturally flawed. phpBB also has some really amazing bugs, mainly relating to the schema, where nobody bothered to RTFM and "just did it"

The four figures with the stars are in different poses, I think the stars with Xs inside them could be KA-BLAMMs, meaning that those figures are the targets of the rays. No ideas about the hands, though.

The picture of the printer does not have pixels missing. HP's own tool tells me the printer is working perfectly, look it has printed its likeness! BUT I SAW… "No, you see whatever I permit you to see…CLOSE FLAP". Why is it calling me that? I leave, muttering about Brother printers.

"Show me where the ink goes!", I warn him that this will anger the printer but he insists. The printer chunters and shakes the desk angrily once the lid is closed. A test page comes out with most of the pixels missing. I run the HP Torment Diagnosis Tool. It prints a picture of the printer.
