I only set important reminders on my phone

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, I started a forever file on my copy of Pearl! I reset for a good trainer ID and I got my birthday (10/28) after a handful of resets! I’m also playing it on my Dialga and Palkia special edition DS Lite

I played most of these in my childhood or as a teenager, but they are what influenced my taste in video games to this day!

My nine games that shaped who I am (in no particular order) are The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, SimCity 4, Pokemon Ultra Moon, Spore, Pokemon Pearl Version, The Stanley Parable, Katamari Damacy, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and Club Penguin.

Wasn’t able to attend the Retro Shiny Challenge since I didn’t have a Saturday pass, but @jankeleg.bsky.social and I did our own little RSC! We did about 300 encounters within the hour… and predictably found nothing. Next time!

I had the pleasure of meeting @partyarlie.com yesterday! I would not have discovered the larger shiny hunting community if it were not for a YouTube video of hers appearing on my feed three years ago, so it was lovely to get to finally talk to her in person. I also got this awesome Ditto magnet!

What powers do y’all think these will give me in Hyperspace Lumiose?

Six Pokémon-themed donuts against a white background. From top to bottom and left to right, a Poké Ball frosted glazed donut, a blue Squirtle frosted glazed donut, an orange Charmander cream filled donut, a pink Jigglypuff frosted glazed donut, a yellow Pikachu cream filled donut, and a green Bulbasaur frosted glazed donut

Looks like it’s time for me to lock in

I uh... think I like this game

Almost every shiny Shinx I catch goes straight into a luxury ball

110

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

I found another shiny Exeggcute just 2,276 encounters after the last one! Not what I was hoping for... but I guess I have the line now LOL

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

I ran into my first 8192 safari shiny after 12,948 encounters! #SafariWeek

2217

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

I’m on the board for Safari Week! I took a little break from Kanto and did some encounters in the Great Marsh and found a shiny Skorupi! This is one of my favorite shinies in the Marsh, so I’m so stoked I found (and caught) it first try

A red Skorupi crying out in a dark forest with a text box at the bottom reading “You encountered a wild Skorupi!”

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

This just happened to me again LMAO

060

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

I haven't found a shiny for Safari Week yet this year, but I did just encounter both 1%'s in their respective areas at the same time! A 1 in 10,000 chance makes this slightly rarer than a shiny in these games!

Two copies of FRLG being played side-by-side with Kangaskhan on one screen and Chansey on the other

I wanted the gift surfing Pikachu from USUM shiny, and I got it this morning after just 238 soft resets! I named him Alola and he’s Timid nature! I’m so excited to play through the rest of the game with him

The new encounter screen in Pokemon Ultra Sun showing a shiny Pikachu (darker yellow in color) with a blue background. There’s also a text box at the bottom that says “Pikachu’s data will be added to the Pokédex!”

The summary screen for Alola after I evolved him into an Alolan Raichu. He is a darker brown color on his body with a white belly and off-yellow ears and tail. His moveset is Psychic, Discharge, Thunderbolt, and Surf

I went to Seattle Pride today and got to see Lambert House march in the parade! Shoutout to @pkmnpride.tv and everyone who helped raise funds for Lambert House this month! Y’all are making a real difference in the lives of queer youth in the Seattle area 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤️

I found a shiny for #SOSWeekend last night! I named her after my friend’s OT in Alola since this is one of her favorite Gen 7 Pokemon

2110

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I actually attempted to get this Salamence a few weeks ago, but ended up getting a shiny Bagon called on me before it showed up

070

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I love how Bagon is already a 1% encounter in Alola, but then you can SOS chain for another 1% encounter on top of that in the form of a severely underleveled Salamence

2160

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

I finally got to try a delicacy from the Alola region this morning! Surprisingly not filled with beef (iykyk)

080

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

I’m not participating in a Pride charity stream event this year because my Internet issues continue to plague me. However, I still wanted to do some Pride themed hunts this year and this is my first one! I caught the bisexual bird after 173 SOS calls 🩷💜💙

My second shiny for #Maydar2026 was a 2% Mankey on Route 225! This was the first one found too!

I'M FIRST ON THE BOARD FOR #KLUNKWeek! Found the golden gears just 12 minutes into the event!

It is! (Ignore the case, I got that later not from GS)

After 5 phases and 5,828 total encounters, I found a shiny Galarian Ponyta in Glimwood Tangle! I started this hunt back in January, so I'm happy to have this hunt completed!

I’ve set out on a hunt for a shiny Skitty from hordes in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, and my first phase is this Nincada after 5,715 Pokemon seen! Shoutout RyanWasTaken, whose stream I was lurking in when I found this golden bug

I picked up an iPod off Facebook Marketplace today and loaded this baby up with Pokemon OSTs, as one does

I made it to Lavender Town with my shiny Venusaur, and I really wanted to give him a nickname. I landed on Junichi because Junichi Masuda had such a big role in the making of these Pokemon games. So for the 30th anniversary of the series, it only felt right to honor him this way ❤️

0130

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 05/03/2026

After my atrocious luck resetting for a shiny Mudkip last month, FireRed took pity on me and gave me a shiny Bulbasaur after only 447 encounters!

4121

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

Tl;dr I'm moving at the end of the month, streams will be on pause for at least a couple weeks starting on the 23rd

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 02/03/2026

Shinx and Alolan Raichu were start to feel the fatigue after a packed weekend, so we opted to watch the VGC finals at Seattle Regionals from home

150

synthwaker @synthwaker.bsky.social · 01/03/2026

Shinx is admiring the view of Mt. Rainier while waiting for the train to go to the final day of Seattle Regionals. It reminds him of Mt. Coronet back in Sinnoh

Shinx and Alolan Raichu are fueling up before Day 2 of Seattle Regionals!

Shinx and Alolan Raichu have packed their bag for Seattle Regionals! We’re so excited!

I've been resetting for shiny Charmander, and I've been getting some weird natures...

A modified summary screen for Charmander that says "ASS nature. Met in PALLET TOWN at Lv 5."

A modified summary screen for Charmander that says "OLD nature. Met in PALLET TOWN at Lv 5."

A modified summary screen for Charmander that says "NASTY nature. Met in PALLET TOWN at Lv 5."

I was bored and decided to try my hand at turning some of these 30th anniversary logos shiny! A couple of these were also inspired by @partyarlie.com’s current shiny hunts
