I love how this shot turned out! Cassa did a great job on it, and I'm always keen to have a play with coloured lights. 📸 @cassasshots.bsky.social #ヒロアカ #ホークス #コスプレ #cosplay #hawks #mha

Been excited about this photo since Alla sent me the set from the last Black Hole event! Finally had the capacity to sit down and edit it; was hemming and hawing about adding lightning to it for ages, glad I went with it in the end. 📸 @havecamerawillsnap.bsky.social #ヒロアカ #緑谷出く #コスプレ #cosplay #mha

Oops, it's been a while. How is it the end of May already? I've been really keen to post this photo, I think it's probably my favourite Hawks photo from last month. 🥹 Alley made me look SO good in this shot, I was really blown away. 📸 @alley_cat_cosplay_ (IG) . . . . #ヒロアカ　#コスプレ　＃ホークス　#hawks　#mha

Tearing myself away from reorganising my crafting workspace to start posting my GCNova photos haha. This photo Alla took of me has probably got to be one of my favourites from the weekend! 📸 @havecamerawillsnap.bsky.social 📍 @blackholecosvent (IG) #ヒロアカ #緑谷出く #コスプレ #cosplay #midoriyaizuku #mha

I'm still hoping to remake the shirt and make proper leg wraps for this cosplay, so fairy Deku may eventually make another appearance... we'll see.

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 26/03/2025

Man I've been meaning to upload photos from this set for MONTHS and just never got around to it. A massive thank you to @shonshinephotography for working with us last GCNova! Was a pleasure and an honour to shoot with you, and I look forward to the next time we can collaborate again!

Someone guessed today that I've been cosplaying for almost ten years. .... I had to tell them I started nearly twenty years ago. 😭 Ouchies.

Do you frequently hear misconceptions about cosplay? I think talking about this helps welcome people into the hobby who may be discouraged and also helps people who may feel pressured to leave something they love and enjoy stay connected. #cosplay #cosplayer #anime #videogames

Myth: You need to make your own cosplays.
Fact: There is no rule book for cosplay. You can make, buy, thrift, borrow and it’s all cosplay.

Myth: You can only cosplay characters who look like you.
Fact: If this was true cosplay wouldn’t exist. Cosplay whoever you want… in fact there is so much fun and discovery that comes from different portrayals of characters.

Myth: Cosplay is weird.
Fact: Like gender roles, what’s “weird” is completely made up. Before judging cosplay take a look at what you enjoy from an outsiders perspective.

Myth: Cosplay is something you grow out of.
Fact: There is nothing about cosplay that suggests there’s an “age-out”… that’s just bias talking.

📸 I had the absolute pleasure to shoot Alex as Percy, AKA the best character of Vox Machina 😀 I haven't seen the latest season yet, I think I'm going to need to do a rewatch binge 😌 Percy - A.Tom_Cosplays (IG)

A couple of photos of my madagascan sunset moth faerie Deku from GCNova earlier this year. Some AU stuff in between the canon stuff, as a treat? :') Thank you to @jaclynm_photography on IG for these lovely shots! #cosplay #mha #bnha #myheroacademia #deku #midoriyaizuku #緑谷出久 #僕のヒーローアカデミア #ヒロアカ

Day three Brisnova: done! It's been probably over 12yrs since I last did a three-day convention, forgot how much extra a third day takes out of me! Either way, it was a good time and I have no regrets ✨✨✨ Bonus: two whole people recognised Gokudera!! A win for me. 🥰

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 10/11/2024

Nearly finishes with my makeup, immediately proceeds to get Monster on my eyebrow.

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 10/11/2024

TRULYYYYY. RIP cosplaywig on ebay. T_T

000

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 10/11/2024

RIGHT :( Can't believe I'm still mourning a $20 ebay wig I bought in 2007....

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 10/11/2024

Not FB memories reminding me it's been 7 YRS TO THE DAY that I last cosplayed my favourite tsundere dynamite boy... cosplaying him to Brisnova today 💀 I miss my old Gokudera wig! Colour blend in it was gorgeous. Struggled to find a replacement; new one is serviceable but it's just solid silver 🥲

Also geez am I really at the age where I need to pre-game painkillers on the reg for a cosplay lol

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 08/11/2024

Toast and chasoba and Monster again, I'm really eating well lmao. Well, at least I had actual food before the convention 😌✨✨

Day two of Brisnova lets gooooooooo--

100

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

I am definitely well past the age of running out the door without eating brekky before a con though. No regrets. The chasoba was tasty.

000

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

Toast and zaruchasoba and a can of Monster for brekky lol truly a meal for champions on a con weekend 😭

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

I've not been very good at remembering to take progress shots of my Halloween Deku cosplay, but here are a few of them. :') It's been a rough year!

030

syn @synstruckcos.bsky.social · 07/11/2024

Okay well I should probably make the move over here properly. Happy Brisnova eve, I'm still con crunching :) I'll be there all weekend ✨

Massive thank you again to Chase and Cinders for joining me in doing this, so excited to be doing OT3 nonsense with such a fun pair; and a huge thank you also to Cassa for jumping so readily into the chaos of all of this without missing a beat!⁡⁡
