just to get you to shape up, emma … ( rub, rub. ) you’re gonna be limping when we’re older.

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

only kind of. ( he’s doing a good job, so it’s hard to want to shake him off. )

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

it’d have been too soft, otherwise. ( rubbing her back. he’s giving her that massage … )

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

it’s bad, emma. ( he tries to tell her she works too hard …… )

yes. but you don’t exactly have good desk posture, emma. so pair that with a tired body, and …

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

emma. you run around like a ninja, then come home and sit — and even sleep — at your desk. you’re not treating your body well.

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 29/11/2025

i think you have a little too much physicality in your work, emma. 💧

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

he was trying his absolute best not to laugh. his face was puffed up and everything. if he laughs, she's gonna be upset ... " ... snrk. " he coughs, waving his hand. " it's alright. it's not for you. "

000

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

" hey, so was yours. " it was more sugar than coffee. he was one of those people who doesn't really like sweets all THAT much, so ... sugar isn't an instant way of winning him over. " just take a sip, and try to appreciate the flavor. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

he gives her a concerned look, before washing it down with his own coffee. bleck. " you know what, it's only fair you try mine. " slides it forward. " go on. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

" let me try. " he takes the cup, giving it a sip ... ... cough! cough, cough. " emma, that's practically candy! "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

" pff. what, you think i need to show off to you? " he chuckles. she had her footing for that assumption, but thankfully he wasn't actually trying to seem so scary. " it's an acquired taste, is all. not that i'd turn my nose to something like yours, though. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

his eyebrows raise a little in confusion as she begins to giggle, putting down his coffee to interrogate her. " finding something funny? " he'd ask with a smirk, knowing it was likely something silly.

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

he snorted as she lit up, expecting the light - hearted reaction but being delighted to see it nonetheless. she was so easy to please in that regard, it was truly quite endearing. so mature, and yet so childish all at once. it was cute. " of course, emma. " he sips his ... ... it's pure black.

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

" i know, emma. " he chuckles a little, before stepping up to the window to order. it didn't take long -- griselle and grisham had wonderful service, even without them both being fond of emma. soon enough, the two are brought coffee -- one for corbeau, and one for emma. the ember roast ...

( is about to go through his budget, especially for a big fancy alola trip. ) " we'll see. it'll be a nice surprise, ok? " he chuckles knowingly, before nodding upward a little. they were getting close to her favorite truck in all of lumiose, after all. " we're here, by the way. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

well. it was probably going to be more like weeks, or months. poor, naive, emma ... corbeau will take any chance to spoil you, especially after how she felt today! " you won't be waiting too long, don't worry. " he chuckles. " just can't take ANOTHER trip so soon. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

“ well, give it a little time, and i’ll take you. “ he’d hum, assuring her that someday soon, the two of them could get a vacation together. it shouldn’t be so hard to organize … “ alright? “

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 25/11/2025

" i mean, it's always possible. but if you never let your guard down, you're never gonna live. " he suggests -- after all, there's a lot more to life than work, work, work. he's one to talk, but ... he's happy to take a break, at least for her. " alola's a very diverse region, it's very nice. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" the city can do a few days without you, no? " he'd nod toward her, suggesting much of the same. she'd been here her whole life, she could really do with some perspective on the world ... maybe together, it'd be nice. " perhaps after a while i can take you out to alola, or something. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" never is. " he sighs. but, he has no problem walking side by side with her anymore. they were both worried at first, but it's been long enough that they just don't care about the public perception anymore. " they're just a hassle, is all. " rubbing his neck. " made me miss home even more. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" only a little. it wasn't so bad. " he shrugged a little, before glancing at her. it wasn't something he couldn't talk about, he just had to lay low while he was there. " not confidential to you. i was in galar, handling some talks with business associates. " he scoffs. " prickly bunch. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" certainly not. but, i suppose i can make that happen, if you like. " he had a way with that, after all. flustering her beyond belief was his favorite gig, don't you know? " come on. let's go. " he'd shut the door behind her, and follow her out of the apartment. "i could use a coffee myself. "

010

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

as she finished getting ready, as well as some much needed alone time -- he'd sit up, strutting himself out of the apartment as well, just to open the door for her. " right after you, my dear. " he'd guide, with a cheeky smirk. being overly cheesy to make up for his absence, clearly.

020

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" oh, sure. " he was in the attire she'd expect -- the suit, and his gelled up hairdo. a familiar ... and quite honestly, very comforting sight, given the situation she was just going through. corbeau at his finest was just what she needed. " take your time. i'll wait. " he shuts the door. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" you're kidding, right? " he'd chuckle as she'd whimper out the question, all the while squished against him like he'd disappear if she let go. he chuckled, before holding his arms around her waist, staring down at her with a somewhat smug, yet loving smile. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" come on. you're not a crybaby. " he'd console her, petting her head softly after that kiss. she was being so hard on herself for all this, even though none of it was her fault ... anybody would be upset if their partner disappeared for a month, even if they knew they were fine. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" i love you too, emma. " it was heartbreaking to hear her sobbing behind that door -- who knows how emotional she's been the entire time that he was gone? he didn't really want to picture it, but ... he had her in his arms now, so there was no reason to. she held him close, as he held her. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

... he stayed silent for a bit, before sighing. he had his reasons, but -- he should've known better than to put something so harsh onto emma. she was a sensitive soul at heart, so it was almost cruel of him to do such a long trip without a single word. but, she knew he didn't mean any harm. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

he listened to her babble out her apologies, but ... the more and more she kept rambling, the more he began to feel worse about having been away for so long. of course, it was important, that much was for sure ... ... but, he couldn't help the guilt that was creeping up on him. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

" ... emma? " he'd call out, hearing her little sniffles from behind the door. the distance had been hard on him, for sure, but ... emma seemed to understand when he had left that he might be gone for a while. corbeau certainly had some enemies, so ... going dark was a must, unfortunately. ⤵️

110

꒷꒦ ┆ 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐁𝐄𝐀𝐔. @syndicate-sabigumi.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

it'd been a quiet spell. it wasn't out of the blue, thankfully -- but emma had been made aware that corbeau would be away from lumiose for some time to handle some business matters in regards to the syndicate. but -- it became quite a long time without any sign of him. days turned to weeks ... ⤵️

( he hums as he watches her delve into her own psyche, and immediately run back out. her face is ... quite easy to read, especially for someone who prides themselves good at reading character. ) well, if you kept saying things that made us seem loose, no. ( he smiles, though. ) but ... ⤵️
