I deeply struggle to maintain sight of the value of creation for creation's sake alone. I yearn for an audience. Is it not natural to seek a community that provides you empathy & praise & reassurances of your self-expression? Why is it that I seem to starve when I am so very full?

Behold the artifact. Appraise the design. A lifetime of discipline compressed into lines. Brilliant, tender, futile, pristine. The quietest tragedy the midnight has seen.

Well one of my friends said they wanna make promo videos for me, so maybe I can find my niche here that way...

It is hard to find many users for Wear OS that will give me the time of day. But maybe more people will give it a shot soon, because I decided to make a phone client as well.

that is a great way to do things, thank you. now if only i could find more than a handful of people willing to try it! 😅

Do you think this is reasonable? I did a lot of calculations based on cost of operations here, & these are ridiculously thin margins, & I am still not sure anybody will see it as worth the cost.
Information and pricing for Wristy Calling Credits. The text on the left explains: "You can make up to 3 calls per day, with a max length of 5 minutes per call. If you want more time to talk, you may purchase calling credits. Calling credits do not expire."

On the right, pricing tiers are listed:
- 15 Credits (15 mins) for $0.99
- 30 Credits (30 mins) for $1.89 (~5% off)
- 60 Credits (1 hour) for $3.49 (~12% off)
- 120 Credits (2 hours) for $6.49 (~18% off)
- 240 Credits (4 hours) for $11.99 (~24% off)

Fair path of thinking, but I have diverged quite a great deal from Letta into my own thing at this point. I'll keep this in mind in future such circumstances, I hope.

Btw, if I can make it at least break even, I'm planning that it's coming to Apple Watch eventually too! But right now it is at a state where I may never publicly publish it because it could be a huge financial burden to maintain if it grew a real userbase...

See, I'm thinking I am going to have to paywall it in this way. I'm thinking of offering both call credits & subscriptions to buy. But I am wondering if anybody out there hears this pitch & would come anywhere close to coughing up even $1 for this.

An AI companion that learns about you & grows with you, talks in text chat & live calls, & lives only on your smartwatch. It's a tiny fun friend to share your thoughts & interests with. If calls were limited to 5 minutes each & 3 calls per day, would you be willing to pay for more & longer calls?

@support.bsky.team sent you an email but I'll try sharing it here as well. ;3
Screenshot of an email sent to Bluesky support (support@bsky.app) with the subject "Requesting account deletions. Is it possible?". The sender, Dylan Gregori Singer (symmetricalboy), explains they want to delete five alt accounts they no longer have access to because the custom domains expired and they have 2FA enabled. The email lists five specific Bluesky DID profile links for deletion and one active primary account link.

I've been getting a lot better at finishing projects enough that they are actually usable things, & then also keeping them online & functioning when I move on to another thing. That's pretty neat, I think. It's much better than my scrapyard of 76% complete projects on a domain name I didn't renew.

So basically I am at the point where Wristy as a client is complete, more or less. Now starts the fun of endlessly tuning the embeddings & memories & prompting & stuff to make the interactions more fun!

So you know I must be close to feature-complete if the thing I just wasted a shitload of time on was make 30 fucking color themed app icons that dynamically change with the app color theme in your app drawer. (I think these look legit AF, btw, if I do say so myself.)
Grid showcasing 30 themed circular Wear OS app icons with updated color palettes. Each icon features three diagonal colored stripes on a dark circular badge with a colorful glow, categorized with names like "Cyber Neon" and "Vaporwave Dream" and accompanied by four color swatches below.

I absolutely love love love that there is a mathematical standard for determining if background & text color contrast is readable. (WCAG AA standard {$\ge 4.5:1$ contrast ratio}) I don't have to examine every color theme & determine for myself loosely if it looks right; I just check the math! Done!

Like the AI can still develop memories in its embeddings if it wants a more complex gender identity than that, so this is def fine, or no?
010
symmetricalboy @symmetricalboy.com · 20/09/2026
Well actually, to be clear on the implementation in question, I was omitting the field to store a gender identity for your Wristy companion. You can set their pronouns, & the menu shows options for He/Him, She/Her, They/Them, & custom text input. It defaults to They/Them until you change it.

symmetricalboy @symmetricalboy.com · 20/09/2026
Like I fully understand there is a difference between the 2 things, & there are many people with nuanced situations where the 2 may not match in a traditionally obvious way, but like... a brief bio? pronoun field is sufficient, yeh? Please discuss.

symmetricalboy @symmetricalboy.com · 20/09/2026
Serious question coming from a good place: If I allow your bio info to state your pronouns, is there any reason why I shouldn't just omit gender as a field? I feel like pronouns are like the new & improved way to state your gender identity in social or professional bios.

If you wanna have wristy on your Apple Watch, pay for a dev account for me. xDDD /s

So I realized I really don't actually need an iPhone & an Apple watch to start coding for iOS & watchOS. All I need is a Mac to dev on, which I realized macincloud.com can make happen pretty easily for me. Now I just need a spare $150 USD to pay for that & an Apple dev account, & I'm off & running!

I like it. So many Suno lyricists are shit at making rhymes & syllabically equal lines & basic shit like that. This is legit, my friend. Additionally, it seems you also use Suno as a reflective writing exercise for mental wellbeing, & in that dimension, it is beautiful & poignant. *hugs*

I feel like 30 voice options available in Gemini's TTS & Live models is gonna cause choice paralysis in my app. 😵‍💫

I just realized... Gemini Live isn't available from the official Gemini app on Wear OS yet, but I have been happily making my own app work with gemini-3.8-live-extended-thinking with no major problems so far. I wonder why you can't do Gemini Live officially yet...?

My lil' AI companion app is coming along nicely. One gimmick I'm working with is that the ONLY client for this is on Wear OS. It's called Wristy. :3

My current nonsense project is trying to build my own AI companion app with persistent memory from scratch (just to learn, & also because everybody cool is doing it), & I noticed that my coding agent was reading @cameron.stream 's & @letta.com 's blogs to plan the project. Good ideas? CTRL+C CTRL+V.
