I'm too lazy to make a new profile so here's my old one: Hot cocoa zealot. Occasional funny man. I've been told I make a mean calzone. Might be a sports fan, but the jury is still out.

1) No she wasn't. 2) Evidence? Y'all just saying stuff that isn't true. Just as bad as the grifters that use her name for bad.

Caitlin Clark finished third in scoring and second in assists. They really don't want CC anywhere near serious MVP conversations. What a fucking league.

One of the things I learned yesterday is a lot of people love the color baby poop green. Oh, and a lot of people hate stripes. To each their own, I suppose.

All the release said was before the season. Last year Seattle & Vancouver received their names and branding around two weeks prior to the start of the season. Their jerseys came two weeks before that. With Worlds in November, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a more expedited timeline.

In fairness, the team's branding and identity hasn't been revealed so they really can't do any of those things yet. We'll see, but considering Ilitch is an investor in the league, given full access to the building and training facility and committed to the team having its own space, I'd hope so.

Another local note: Clara Yuhn will be in camp with the Minnesota Frost. Yuhn spent four years at BU and was part of the Caesars group that had notables like Kirsten Simms, Elyssa Biederman, Casey Borgiel and potential Top 5 pick next year, if she declares, Cassie Hall.

Note on Kira Juodikis: she's a local product, but from the other side of the River. From neighboring LaSalle, just south of Windsor, the UNH product had a cup of coffee with the Sirens in which I believe she was one of the players that filled in for the injured Taylor Girard.

Updated PWHL Detroit jersey numbers for training camp + Andrea Brandli via the league site: Forwards: Upson (24), Jones (26) & Juodikis (55) Defenders: Zuchotzki (6) & Adolfsson (15) Goalies: Pasiechnyk (1) & Brandli (20)

This is just how they operate unfortunately. Seattle and Vancouver didn't receive their names and branding until a couple weeks before the season started last year. The league reportedly informed the expansion team staffs what their team identities would be on Monday so it's just a waiting game.

The quick scan of the forwards suggest center candidates to compete with Detroit's draft picks in training camp. PWHL Detroit will have 16 forwards, nine defenders and three goalies in TC after hitting the 28 player minimum.

Premature push send by the PWHL, but you can't undo the internet. Forwards Gabby Jones, Kira Juodikis & Vanessa Upson will attend PWHL Detroit training camp joining previously announced defenders Jessica Adolfsson, Kendra Zuchotzki and goaltender Michelle Pasiechnyk.

Neither the team, the Dallas Wings, or the WNBA currently own the Shock mark. The league would need to reacquire the mark from a squatter for them to use that identity (and they should spare no expense considering the history that it holds).

Cruisers would be generic and painfully unimaginative. Revs is neither bad or great, but the logo and brand identity need to hit.

I can't imagine the PWHL believes the names will remain a secret for very long after telling the teams so I assume an announcement is forthcoming. Then again, this league doesn't operate like a professional sports organization so they might just wait till the last minute again.

At least Marmer was honest about the most beneficial part of it for her team: less west coast trips. Boston knocks out their Pacific games in one go. The Fleet, outside of potential Takeover Tour games, travel outside their time zone only one time after Jan. 1.

Another note from the Big East men's basketball release that's relevant for the PWHL: Seton-Hall-St. John's at MSG on Jan. 23 locked in for Noon ET on Peacock. The PWHL currently lists Detroit-New York at a TBA venue at 7pm on ION. UBS & Barclays aren't available that night.

If you lack the political will to impeach patently impeachable offenses, fine. Just realize that you have, by definition, cast aside the laws that were broken and the impeachment power. This is not an opinion. This is how basic logic operates. Anyone who does not contend with that is unserious.

If someone breaks laws and you choose not to hold them accountable, you have effectively rescinded said laws. That applies to constitutions as well. This is an immutable, non-negotiable fact. Any analysis of what Democrats should do once they regain power that does not acknowledge this is worthless

Sure it does. After Hours was always the show after the late night game, not after the 7 o'clock in the East one. CBC will be doing pre & post for HNIC games, and if they want to bring in Scott Oake for a cameo, by all means, but it's not the After Hours show.

All 12 PWHL teams will be releasing their training camp rosters this week. Teams are to have a minimum of 28 players and can bring a maximum of 32 to camp. PWHL Detroit currently has 18 players under contract, four unsigned draft picks and three known camp invites.

100%. The presentation of HNIC is so important. There's a certain way it goes, and that's why the CBC just putting a stamp on a PWHL produced broadcast simply won't be enough. It has to be distinctly its own thing and meet the standard that the network and this program is known for.

I'm sorry, Hilary. The PWHL has determined that Las Vegas & San Jose are Detroit's rivals, not Hamilton & Toronto despite only being a couple hundred miles away. (The Hamilton Spectator - 10/3)
Hilary Knight is one of the most celebrated and successful hockey players of all time.

What’s on her mind at the moment? Among other things, the potential for a rivalry between new PWHL expansion franchises in Hamilton and Detroit — her latest squad.

“I think we were actually just talking about it. Who’s our rival? Is it Toronto? Hamilton?” the all-time leader in U.S. Olympic goals and points said with a smile.

“I think that would be awesome if we had a very natural cross-border rivalry where fans can easily come to Detroit or into Hamilton,” she added.

Lots of mourning for the "Hockey Night in Canada" branding tonight, but it will return in December, just not with the NHL. Hopefully, the CBC won't just put a HNIC stamp on their PWHL coverage and call it a day. There's a standard of excellence to be upheld.

With Chris Ilitch, whispers of cheapness, lack of commitment to teams (esp. the Tigers) and micromanaging were constant. For the most part, a lot of that has been proven true. Unfortunately, I don't see a "come to Jesus" moment for Fail Son happening anytime soon.

Sym @symmering.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
The template Mike Ilitch set was simple: hire the best people to run the teams and get out of the way, only stepping in when requested. Didn't work out in his first decade of ownership with the Tigers, but they eventually got there.

Sym @symmering.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
The thing about Chris Ilitch is there were always questions surrounding him about his commitment to the excellence his father set way before the old man passed. It's bugged him because he's had to answer for it over the years. Yet he's done nothing to disprove any of it.

The CBC has always owned the rights to the "Hockey Night in Canada" branding. They allowed Rogers to use it during their previous sublicensing deal, and now that it's over, the CBC has now decided to work with the PWHL to keep the brand alive with Saturday night games.

The final three days of the 2026-27 PWHL regular season have no time and network designations besides Montreal-Ottawa. My guess is holds til races shake out. ION should have primetime open with likely no NWSL (intl break) and I'm sure Canadian nets pick up the Toronto, Vancouver & Hamilton games.
