Figured I'd show the grey study I did before hatching in shadows. I also did a study of Goya's The Sleep of Reason as reference for how he handles cross hatched shadows and tried to incorporate some of that knowledge. --- #creepy #horror #reflection #pool #beauty #blackandwhite #dark

Inktober day 6: pierce I'm probably done with inktober for a bit. If I upload anything else from it they'll be simple pen drawings. No more paint. I have something else to do. --- #painting #inktober #pierce #art #watercolor #traditional

Inktober day 5: Deer I'd like to draw with intuition and joy. Frankly, I find making art painful. It is no refuge. Hopefully making a ton of paintings changes that for me. --- #art #inktober #painting #spooky #deer #old #witch

Mmm, are you sure you want to violently depose Louis XVI? This French Revolution is bad optics, sweaty. Not a good look!

The devil, from a thing I'm working on. I did a lot of research on Abenaki and Celtic mythology to make him, though I may not be done. May go to the library to try and find a better resource than what I could find online. --- #cernunnos #lox #malsumis #devil #spooky #characterdesign #horror

It'll be interesting to see all the young anti-war magas sent off to defend Lockheed-Martin/Boeing/Raytheon stocks, aka Israel.

My new favorite movie is The Blackcoat's Daughter. I have never seen a twist so simultaneously gut wrenching and completely anticlimactic. I've been listening to the soundtrack all day as I write. Just wow.

I feel like I'm not getting better at watercolor and it's very frustrating. Theres something I'm missing about the process, the bigger picture. I'm not sure.

Conservatives are at their most honest just after events like this happen. The Elon Trump Epstein thing? Cons havent been given their spin yet, and will be honest just like after J6. To all liberals who think they will change b/c of this, no they won't. They will get their spin eventually.

More watercolor. I feel like I'm getting the hang of things. The thing I like the most about it is you cant make it too perfect. The hand of the artist is always visible. --- #watercolor #study #crow #greyscale #pen #ink

Deer, here representing Silver. Deer are often associated with sulfur in alchemy, but can also be associated with Artemis, aka Luna, and therefore silver and the moon. Alchemical symbolism is often incredibly arbitrary, which makes sense given it's syncretic origins. --- #silver #alchemy #deer

There are two lions in alchemy, one green and representing Vitriol, one red and representing Sulfur. I went with the sulfur one. For the outfit I chose reference material from a leader oft called "the lion", Ali Pasha, an Ottoman politician. --- #lion #alchemy #drawing #sulfur #ottoman

A butterfly representing the alchemical element of air. Air is typically represented by a sylph, so I chose a butterfly called a "golden sylph" as my animal. I made 4 different versions of the dress trying to find something I was happy with. --- #butterfly #golden sylph #sylph #air #alchemy #dancer

The wolf here embodies the alchemical element of water. The wolf is wild and un-tameable like the sea, which swallows up hot metals as a part of the transformation process. There is also Antinomy, a metal often associated with wolves, which I may draw later. --- #wolf #water #alchemy #fisherman

Phoenix, here representing the alchemical element of fire. Fire cleanses and changes, the wild element of destruction and creation. I gave it the crest of a Goura Victoria, because the shape of the feathers are similar to the alchemical symbol for fire. --- #phoenix #alchemy #drawing #bird #elegant

Once you use a cast iron pan you will never go back. So easy to clean, so sturdy, this thing will be around making pancakes after I am dead, and I got it for like 10 bucks at a thrift store.
