The glow of neon lights and the roar of the Arcadion had barely begun to fade as Paige and Sydney trekked through Solution 9. They were almost out of the Neon Stein, just finishing up in an alleyway when the young blond whisked the brunette off her feet and pinned her against the fence; Paige gasped at the sudden movement.

“What? Couldn’t wait until we got to the i-” The playful lilt in her voice and the smile vanished from the miqo’te’s face as she looked into her girlfriend’s eyes; the normal mischievous glint in Sydney’s eye wasn’t there, even if the cheeky grin remained. This wasn’t the first sign that caught her eye that evening; the younger woman had been acting strange at every club they went to, whether it was drinking far more than her typical limit or going all out on the dance floors.

Luckily none of this had inhibited her ability to walk home, thank the Twelve…but it was nevertheless cause for concern. ‘Oh yeah, something is definitely bothering her...but what?’ Paige pondered.

“What’s the matter, my sun?” Paige’s pet name dripped off Sydney’s tongue, her usual Lominsan accent replaced with a thick Turali accent. Sydney’s left hand ran through the burnette’s hair before going back to pinning Paige’s arms above her head; she leaned in and peppered a few kisses on the Miqo’te’s collarbone.

Paige sighed. “Babe, put me down. Let’s…” she had to think of a quick lie to get her to move, “I left a surprise at the inn room… I know you’ll be dying to get me out of it…” She let the sentence drift off, hoping her girlfriend would take the bait.

Sydney giggled, her already red cheeks darkening at the thought of what Paige brought with her, and she gently let her down. “Mm okay my sun~ Let’s get back.” The younger woman held onto her partner’s hand as they continued their journey to Tuliyollal.
