Well, like many other authors, I assumed the publishers were taking care of it. Which apparently they were not 😑

I used to work as a photo editor. US copyright law says the copyright belongs to you *when you create it.* Registering it is not required. (But if you have to sue or defend your copyright, it helps to have registered it)

My books were published in the US but by publishers with UK offices. Maybe they were registered there? I got nothing, in any case, even though 3 of my books were otherwise eligible
