Is it perfect? No, particularly the earlier chapters, but that's an inevitable result of releasing a big project publicly in stages like this. You grow as an artist as you work through it and by the time you finish it, the end is better than the beginning. Which is why I would love to see

and i love how it's ultimately about an imperial boomerang. also!! The action is good, which is so rare for me to find in writing! The mech fights are sexy and fun and fluid and meaningful, and each action section is genuinely tense. something is going to be lost. there aren't victories anymore.

hypno or bootblacking or ego death stuff that much, but the way she writes it is really compelling, and I'm all over the cosmic motifs and the worldbuilding and the action. it's good!! the worldbuilding is just the light, indirect touches you need when doing a rebels vs empire wasteland story

to look at works that are trying to be kinky erotica and also well-written stories and just be sort of frustrated that it's not Fitting Into Boxes, even though we're all sex-positive, right? and warhound is really one of the best examples I've seen of that. I'm not even really into

I can't count on how many times I've read something "spicy" and then there's just like. a tiny bit of heat. so i appreciate her going all the way and actually writing sex instead of just handwaving it so much! though i do think, even with progressive ppl, there's an unwillingness

and besides intracommunity jealousy i really admire an author who takes a shopworn classic tgirl genre like hypnoporn and mechs and breathes new life into, taking it further, not pulling punches, trying to make something a worthy piece of fiction but also really good porn. And it has ACTUAL SEX!!

and tbh i was impressed by that part!! rescue hound kicks it up into like a real story with motifs, character development, worldbuilding, irony, and the following parts do a really good job at breathing more life into the setting and story, esp showhound

Finished all the public chapters of warhound and i got plenty thoughts. . . Tbh I feel like a lot of the animosity towards it comes from a place of wanting to dunk on stuff tgirls like and also not really considering how she grew it quickly from a short story into a whole world
