I believe that understanding how something works allows you a better chance at utilizing it effectively and protecting yourself and others from harm regarding it. In this case, that “it” is the Internet, a shorthand version of interconnected networks.

The first working version of a interconnected network was specifically used by the US Department of Defense called ARPANET. Short for Advanced Research Projects Agency Network, ARPANET was in use from 1969 to 1980 before it was purchased and renamed Defense Data Network (DDN) which was in use from 1983 to 1995 and accessed by the United States and Israel- of course. 🙄

PervSafe: I keep getting this comment from people, and it's the strangest thing to me. Did no one else read the TOS for this app? Am I the ONLY one who actually reads the rule updates?

If they're on the list, the predators are already there. I'm not adding every minor on the app-- I am adding minors who interact with, or post, NSFW content. And, in the case of my Harm Lists, minors interacting with worse.

They are, first and foremost, breaking the app rules by having their NSFW filters off. We get to NOT provide IDs in exchange for the honor system that keeps kids out.

The list exists to block every user that meets that criteria, without having to ever having to see their account. To use it as a target list, a predator would have to check each account individually. Something they would already be doing with the tags I blacklist.

Public app, public posts, public accounts. Even the minors agreed to that in the TOS.

Outing minors who are posting NSFW makes is very easy for predators to find them… the fact multiple people have told you this and you refuse to accept this is fucking weird. You are doing more harm than good for said minors.

PervSafe: Okay, so hopefully I can format this in a way that makes sense. To solve the problem you have with my method, one of three things would have to happen first. Please tell me which one you think is less "weird" and you would ACTUALLY support.

1. Minors cannot take responsibility for their own decisions. This means they can not agree to the TOS (aka the rules of the app) in any way that matters.
Result: No minors on social media

2. Minors have to accept responsibility for their choices in order to make a contract. It is up to adults to keep our spaces separate, which means we have to show them there are consequences to breaching consent
Result: What I'm doing

3. Minors are not responsible for their actions, AND adults cannot take the responsibility of criticizing them. We let the kids run amok and spend every day checking accounts, reporting, blocking, and being triggered over and over to do so.
Result: Adults no longer have a safe space for NSFW
4. is, of course, a customizable option, but it needs to actually solve the problem
