Spruced up the desk. Cat prints, games, D&D, speakers - a few of my favorite things. Pouring one out for old speakers from '03, amp fried in the last monsoon when we lost our neutral wire. Hoping these Klipsch's last another 20 years (unlikely.. but they look & sound good).

Was just supposed to swap a fan out, but the glass side panel on this 3 y/o Corsair case had other plans. Plans that involved shattering into 1000 shards. I will be staying away from glass panels in the future… or anything by @corsair.com for that matter. Could’ve been bad, but I wasn’t hurt.

New Outlook's autocorrect is completely borked on MacOS. If I delete my entire draft, the grammar/spelling squiggles remain visible in the empty window (same if the text is changed at all - Outlook never updates). At least the squiggles look like late 90's/early 00's contemporary art.

I have made another Elder Cat Climbing Device out of MDF and wood scrap, this one can be used by humans too.

It's summer in Tucson and that means every day is a game to keep energy consumption under solar production. Just wish we had a battery larger than 9 kWh for 100 percent self-sufficiency - we get to about 70-80 percent.

I've been meaning to build a workbench and finally did it *witcher 3 level-up hyaaaahhhs* found a good dummy proof guide and spent way too long making cuts with a tiny jigsaw, and worked into the night screwing everything together.

V2 of Elderly Cat Stairs complete and successfully adopted. The trick was deeper steps, a cut-up bath mat stapled to the top, and a couple of treats strategically placed and now he's using it all the time.

I built some stairs for our senior cat out of mdf & scrap wood. He's not quite warmed up to them yet (need to staple some carpet to the steps I think). Next project is a proper workbench to replace the folding table (a cuisinart grilling table lol) in the work shed.

Was expecting cold solder joints on this failed humidistat but it was straight up ripped from the wires (+ cold joints). Cool! Unsure how to proceed, the connector leads seem super finicky. Maybe I'll solder the wires directly to PCB? Obviously my first time attempting anything like this. :P

Today's project: fixing the mess of usb cables at our airpods/device charging station (itself a repurposed desk organizer from ugmonk). Designed a cable box in Blender with a clamp to hold the usb power brick - we'll see how the print goes!
