i wonder why they even have that disclaimer. normally you only see disclaimers like that to skirt around something, but in this case it would be skirting around “looking like we’re targeting kids with blind box toys”, which is just completely standard practice for companies by now.

like, i think what tumblr has functionally done here is simply set all comments to now get their own unique post IDs auto-assigned to them, and then did *none* of the proper testing or extensive UI overhaul that would be required for an update like that to actually behave coherently.
