Having full-blown thunder storms at night make me so happy. I don't know why but it's so soothing. What is your take on thunder storms?

Gorgeous! I love that one too. My favorite, and ironically not associated with the craft, is Flaming June by Sir Frederic Leighton. I just love the contrast between her vivid colors and her gentle repose.

I've never felt more seen... not sure if that's good or bad. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

an old painting of a peasant woman holding a scythe next to a wooden gate, and a basket at her feet. she has a beautiful background of yellow fields and a forest of green beyond. she is looking intently toward the viewer with these words beside her:
"Someone asked me if I had plans for the fall. It took me a moment to realize they meant “autumn”, not the collapse of civilization."

they are so funny! now picture hearing that coming from a lion-sized prehistoric 'Giant Bear Otter' that was bigger and more fierce than our ancestors. I don't think they'd sound quite so cute back then. 😁

an illustration of the prehistoric 'Giant Bear-Otter' (Enhydriodon Dikikae) which looks like a typical, sleek, dark-furred otter baring it's sharp teeth but roughly the size of a full grown African male lion. the illustration shows the otter next to an ape-like hominid standing upright (labeled 'Us, at the time') and holding a large bone, labeled 'otter-pushing stick' (somewhat facetiously). below them both it says "Africa, ca. 2 mya' (million years ago).

Interesting how LDS art depicting Red Robed Jesus appear more than any other, although the imagery has been around for quite some time and from other Christian denominations. The red robe signifies the second coming and the last judgement. But, I'm a heathen, so what could I possibly know?

all of my thoughts about your pets' lives are just a continuing webcomic mashup of Knock-off Snoopy (except not as bright) and The Aristocats. sort of like this...

frame 1 - a comic dog standing up & rummaging through the garbage.
frame 2 - garbage tips, causing garbage to fly everywhere.
frame 3 - dog sits looking at the disaster he's caused.
frame 4 - a cat approaches dog & the mess, and the dog says "why am I like this?"

It just occurred to me that I've never seen Beaches (1988). Is it really that great or overemotional hype? And, do I have to turn in my woman card until I see it? (I've seen lots of clips and, dang, the little girl that plays Bette Midler's character is so spot on)

I thought this was so cool when it first came out because of course women came up with calendars. 🌒

“The Ishango notched bone and similar artifacts originated with a woman’s need for a lunar calendar to keep track of her monthly cycles. It is generally conceded that women were the first agriculturalists, and in that capacity they may have needed a lunar calendar,” Ethno-mathematician Claudia Zaslavsky wrote.

It sounds like you are a Service Leader instead of a self-serving leader. I've been lucky enough to grow up with a Service Leader and to have married one, and the difference it makes for the workers is immense. those boys who take leadership as some kind of birthright will never earn real loyalty.

A service leader (or servant leader) is a business professional who prioritizes supporting employees, fostering collaboration, and removing obstacles to boost team performance and customer satisfaction. They focus on empathy, coaching, and empowering their team to grow, often serving as a bridge between strategic goals and operational, hands-on support.

Our task as [humans] is to find the few principles that will calm the infinite anguish of free souls. We must mend what has been torn apart, make justice imaginable again in a world so obviously unjust, give happiness a meaning once more to peoples poisoned by the misery of the century. Albert Camus

"We have not overcome our condition, and yet we know it better. We know that we live in contradiction, but we also know that we must refuse this contradiction and do what is needed to reduce it. Our task as [humans] is to find the few principles that will calm the infinite anguish of free souls. We must mend what has been torn apart, make justice imaginable again in a world so obviously unjust, give happiness a meaning once more to peoples poisoned by the misery of the century. Naturally, it is a superhuman task. But superhuman is the term for tasks [we] take a long time to accomplish, that’s all." ~ Albert Camus

post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, pearl jam, soundgarden, or alice in chains I could post a dozen here but these two got me through that decade: Depeche Mode, Violator (1990) and Sarah McLachlan, Surfacing (1997)
