Big fan of @duckdb.org's WASM support. Always up-to-date and easy to use. Perfectly in DuckDB style. Did you know? Quack-Mate allows to select the very latest version on the fly.

If you like chess and/or databases, you may enjoy reading about Quack-Mate, my mad attempt at writing a complete chess engine on top of DuckDB. Read the write-up and test your skills against it here: swingbit.github.io/quackmate/

Dear DBMS, it's you who needs Integers. We need Strings. We spend way too much time optimising schemas because databases treat strings as second-class citizens. My take on this matter: swingbit.github.io/no-strings-a...

No Strings attached ... to SQL columns

It must be irritating when the excuse you use for not admitting that you've been a total failure as a parent turns out to be just part of human decency. I'd be so furious.

A great way to demonstrate how a LLM is all about form and very little about content: "let's play chess". It will show a board, and then play like a 4yo would: - losing track of who should play next - making illegal moves - randomly changing a white pawn into a block one Please, remove the I from AI

Listening to @andypavlo.bsky.social 's arguments about why the relational model is superior to all the past and present attempts to replace it is comforting and refreshing, and it supports all the core choices we made at Spinque.

Oh my, it's a storm trooper. I can't believe it. That's so scary! Perhaps he won't see me if I stay very silent.
