I've taken the existence of FA for granted. I don't use it much anymore, (I should) but I can't ignore that it has been fundamental to this fandom. It has survived a lot and it has outlived a bunch of other platforms, but that doesn't mean it will always be here. And that would be awful. I'm in.

I was sitting in a Kroger parking lot when a guy walks up to my Jeep and asks Next Generation or first Generation? I was equally as confused, but he was offering me a trio of Star Trek ducks! I went with first generation. But that's the coolest duck ever you got! Enjoy the silly whimsy!

Everyone was frightened, no one knew what was really going on, nor if it was over yet. & if they picked up the phone or called you back to let you know they are okay, you felt physically relieved. And then the stories of heroism and the selflessness of the responders and volunteers alike poured in.

25 years ago today I woke up to watch one of the most incomprehendible and frightening things unfold on live TV in front of me. The following hours were frantic flipping of news channels and fighting clogged phone lines to reach family and friends for more information and to see if they were safe.
