Pretty taken aback bc it felt like too much of an institution to ever close. I saw Magdalena Bay there in 2021 a week after their debut album came out, back when they were still small enough to chat up us rando fans at their merch desk. There weren't many of us. It was my first post-covid show.

Fri 7 pm: get to Unipol Arena hopefully early enough for a decent floor spot, succeed, bask in glory. Fri 11 pm: realize we're stranded bc the arena is 7.5 mi away from the city and trains end at 10pm. 20k ppl leaving via shuttle is disaster. Many merch thefts occur in the scramble to get on bus.

Imagine running only one train per hour from the city center to your mega arena 7.5 miles away. Now imagine that train got delayed 35+ mins because it was "too overcrowded to depart" and police had to forcibly remove people off the train. A train that is overcrowded bc there are only 4 measly cars
