Ah, how about the next day? ( This way he'll have time to prepare mentally /and/ physically—but mostly mentally! ) Say, that restaurant just at the end of the flower shop's street? The one with the green sign above the door?

Taking a little break while the shop is empty, browsing the books on the shelves. There's been some new additions he hasn't had time to look at! Once he found one that looks interesting, he settles at one of the tables with a coffee and a rose jelly-filled madeleine. Taking —

The busiest of bees! Been running errands around /both/ cities all day! Placing the armful of bags he's carrying on a bench before plopping down next to them with a SIIIGH. Exhausted!

( Oh, no, no, he's fine! Lil blondie is just really not used to such attentions, ha. ... Adopted? Oops. He was about to say he looks just like him... Not that that would've been a catastrophe! ) I haven't had the honor of meeting him, but I know he is a good man. ( Nodnod )

( Internally SCREAMING⁉️ That's the first time someone has done this to him! Be still, his beating heart, lest he might swoon! ) It's, ah, nice to meet you too, Claggor! ( The Vander Clan... Hm... Oh! ) Vander, as in... The same Vander that has a statue? Are you... his son?

Please, you've already offered enough 'on the house' already! ( Shaking his head, nuh uh, nope. ) You have a business to run, too! Besides, I'll need some for my mother as well. And a vase. The one I have at home isn't as nice as it used to be.

( Chuckling. ) I'll always find more spots for that. I do take my days off on Tuesdays, usually. I'll definitely pay you a visit next week!

( Oof, he's a little tired today. Celebrations are great for sales, but he sure feels the weight of those hours of work the next day. )

The bakery is quiet in the early hours, save for the steady rhythm of Ambrose’s movements. Outside, Zaun is still coated in half-light and soft neon glows, but inside The Honeyed Rose, warmth and the scent of sugar fill the air. Ambrose has been awake for hours already, sleeves rolled up, —

Is it? Good to know! ( He'll make a mental note of it. He should try to find more cute molds, too. But, when the money is handed to him, he pushes the other's hand back. ) I'll gladly accept your patronage, but this one was on the house! I insist.

( And he won't stop looking at it for as long as it will remain there! ) They're just little marble cakes! Chocolate and vanilla. ( With a smile, he hands him one before taking one for himself... As expected, they're good! )
