SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 29/01/2026Whatever your better expectation for tomorrow is I hope that's the one they run with. I've been referred to the Dermatology Dept. for next Tuesday. Thats quick but I've no idea what to expect then either. GP said 'Thing' will need cutting out but will it happen then? I've no idea. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 26/01/2026It's a GP appointment on Wednesday. I'm hoping any referrals and removal can move extremely rapidly after that. 320
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 26/01/2026I see a GP on Wednesday. I sent a photo last Wednesday, so a week to get an appointment was not too bad these days, I guess. Hoping, after that, things can move very rapidly. I think it's obvious what it is, malignent melanoma. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 26/01/2026Morning, and as I'm up before pm., it is. 'Thing' on the chest has rapidly gone to crusty red, black and white. Quite tight throat nauseatingly worried about that. Hope the nurse - with students - visit passes as smoothly as possible for you. 230
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 22/01/2026Glad you got some painkillers at last. Explains the sleep, I guess. A mole on my chest has decided to erupt. Right under my neck, not the most noticable place until it got really angry. Looks horrible now but hoping I still found it in time. Doctors in a week. Wishing you an evening too. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 19/01/2026On the border tipping into didn't. Currently binge watching one of those epically long Chinese historical dramas. It's not helping the motivation to actually do anything though. 010
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 19/01/2026I'm not a connysewer of any of this. Is it hot and brown? covers it. 010
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 19/01/2026I used to only very rarely drink coffee anyway, until last year when I got a moka pot, so reverting back to a tea bag in a mug should be ok. Also, a darn sight cheaper. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 19/01/2026Until, whenever it was last year, I found a moka pot in the hospice shop I was by far a tea drinker anyway. Drinking the equivalent of 6 expressos as the morning cuppa can't be good for me. Expensive too. A tea bag in a mug will do. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 09/01/2026It is not far above freezing, but sopping damp. The slugs are out for whatever slugs do, in January. 010
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 07/01/2026I guess I was thinking of the Latin Catholic World. Italy, Spain and through to S. America. Feasts and presents. I have an exuberant Mexican Aunt and an ex. was Filipino where this stuff still matters. 020
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 06/01/2026Epiphany. Rather an important day in the Catholic world, possibly, once upon a time, more so than actual Christmas day. Then... marketing came along. 230
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 04/01/2026Nice to have a decent restaurant on hand that delivers. The only known really decent local is an eat in only. A £20 off 'posh' Ocado voucher meant that I could include the entirely unnecessary two bottles of hopefully nice organic ginger beer in an order, also done. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 04/01/2026Aft'noon. It's been a bright day here too so at least we're both under that weather. Some Sunday housework done and some dough proving. Standby curry from the freezer is thawing out as I can't be arsed to do otherwise at this time. Have a good evening. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Evening. It's freezing up here and will be in the minus for at least a week they say. There's even a -9℃ in the forecast. Already blown the weeks energy budget with two days to go, sigh. Have a good evening. 120
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 01/01/2026The days before we found out DA really were quite nasty pieces of work. I don't think Asia has much of a moral filter. Plenty of videos out there of junior kids dancing in public, even school festivals, to American gangsta mutherfucker fuck bitch music. Quite weird. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Wishing you, and all, a happy new year. Hi! Judy @judetheconfused.bsky.social 220
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 30/12/2025It seems you got up around the same time as me. Crap, isn't it. Managed to feed the birds and sort laundry off the line before it got pitch black and began to freeze. That's about it. Korea, Japan, and China have recently been obsessed with dance shorts to 2014 Die Antwoods 'Pitbull Terrier, huh? 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 24/12/2025Wishing you a Happy Christmas Eve too, Claire. I bought bread in for the first time in ages, I'm afraid. A great big thing loaded and covered in seeds. I will attempt some white crusty rolls later though. Got cheeses. 120
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 24/12/2025Aft'noon. I trust you had a good evening out with your boys. The Llangollen Canal breach then. Not the worst canal to be stuck on for a while by any stretch, if one had to pick. Some treats have been procured, mostly cheese, chocs, and booze. My kettle has died. Merry Christmas. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/12/2025I'd give Farscape maybe 7/10. The main storyline is great but too many sidetrack filler episodes get in the way. A good budget and production with mostly good acting helps. It is 25 years old now though. It was impressive then but I only saw bits and bobs of it at the time due to work. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 20/12/2025Aft'noon. I hope you succeed in your day. Sorry to read about your diagnosis. Absolutely nothing going on here, more's the pity. Enthusiasm has left the building. I have binge watched Farscape. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Well, there's another bit of good news. Perhaps the heating can go on now with a little less worry. 120
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Afternoon all. I was eventually driven out of bed by a pair of screeching angry parakeets over empty feeders. That was a while ago now but still disappointingly late. I guess the slow wheels of bureaucracy need to turn a bit before you find out the results of yesterdays tribunal. Good luck. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 24/11/2025Three great tits and a blue tit during a sparrow lull on the feeders on Sunday. I can hear the blue tit chattering away in the lilac now. It needs a mate. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 24/11/2025Morning. It's 6℃ here too, thankfully on the plus side. A brief respite from the freeze. Still struggling with that body clock, 0830 is no good. Good to read that Marmite appears well again. Happy proofreading. 120
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/11/2025We've got quite a few of these multi-occupancy places on the high street now that nearly all of the 'proper' shops have left. No idea what goes on in any of them really. 000
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/11/2025Plenty of places purporting to be cobblers but if they haven't even got a basic stitching machine then, no, you're really not. Anyway, a tiny booth in a raggedy converted multi-occupancy shop had an ancient lever cranked lump of cast iron that did the job. Yay! to the middle east immigrant. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/11/2025It's quite a huge flock. They seem to have pushed out all the variety I used to get on the feeders though. Haven't seen a goldfinch here for a couple of years now, whereas they were once the most common. Blue tits and dunnocks finally disappeared this year too. I forgot, I get parakeets too. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/11/2025It's sparrows, sparrows all the way down until the singular great tit. And pidgeons. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 21/11/2025Yay! Marmite. Yay! you too. Pharmacy done, then traipsing about trying to find a cobbler who can put a dozen simple stiches in a boot backstay. Bloody sole stickers and key cutters the lot of 'em, including Timpsons. Except, the last magnificent fellow for a fiver. Nice in the sun. 100
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 20/11/2025Best wishes to both of you. Don't get confused about who goes where. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 19/11/2025Glad Marmite is appears a bit better and hope the vet tomorrow has good news. Finally succumbed and put the heating on for real yesterday evening too. All seems to be working fine this time which is a huge relief. Smart meter is scary though. House is too big and too old, sigh. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 14/11/2025Perhaps it'd be better if it stays in the stomach rather than moving on, I gather that's simpler. Might even be reachable with a probe down the oesophagus. Anyway, I wish her as comfortable as can be. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 14/11/2025No sign of a tremendous poo from Marmite yet? Even if laxed and lubed up again I guess it might still take a while. Just started to rain a bit more persistently here. Time to tackle those three file boxes of paperwork. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 11/11/2025Best wishes to Marmite. Got plans. Just got to get off my backside at some point and execute them. 120
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 07/11/2025The trials of the builder. Unless you specified something unusual I'd of thought all the trimmings would be readily available. It's pretty generic stuff for a roofing job. Roofing superstores are a thing. Hope this resolves quickly. Enjoy tonight. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 07/11/2025I was hoping for a magical item, or maybe a small chest of gold. Alas. 010
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 07/11/2025Morning! just. May have to deploy the alarm clock and feel like crap for a few days. Didn't help that I was up 'till silly o'clock tending a bonfire on Wednesday night. The old fence has been disposed of. Yeah! Friday, huh! 210
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 05/11/2025That's a bit passé for High Schools, isn't it? Front row i-phone dad is expecting braids, fishnets, shortest shorts and a bit of twerking to completely inappropriate Drill, or explicitly worse, these days. Hmmm? maybe that's Junior High. 000
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 04/11/2025It shall be the most splendid gutter, if without the waterfall in the driveway. 020
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 04/11/2025Give some away, eat the rest. I steamed some last night. Glad the singing went well. 110
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 04/11/2025Morning! It was ten to six and then it was half past eight. Too much fresh air yesterday, I reckon. Inadvertent lie-ins. Yay! to food. Let that continue. A man comes to properly clean and fix the guttering today. 330
SwarF @swarf.bsky.social · 03/11/2025I hope the throat and lungs were in fine form. This foraging malarky. I went to see a Sweet Chestnut tree I hadn't seen in thirty odd years. A bit of an expedition, especially now that no one is maintaining the paths anymore, but worth it. Just under 2Kg. 120
