Thanks to everyone who came along to my most recent coffee morning in Swansea. Politics isn't always great, especially when it's done online. So I'm pleased people found our old fashioned, 3D discussions a positive experience.

I spent many happy hours in this reading room when it was part of Swansea Library. It’s now part of @uwtsd.bsky.social and hosted the annual IWD Jessie Donaldson lecture. What a treat to spend more time here again.

The Deer’s Leap is indeed a great #Swansea pub and as @torstenbell.bsky.social says it’s a very good idea to start and finish any door knocking session at a pub!

A big thank you to @torstenbell.bsky.social for his time talking with @uwtsd.bsky.social MBA students today. It was so interesting and informative. #swansea

A lovely morning in the sunshine knocking on doors, only a few minutes from where my grandparents lived for 70 odd years. #labourdoorstep

I’ve been terrified by the prospect of a nuclear war ever since my mother took me to Greenham Common as a child. This book isn’t helping.

If you have a bit of time over the holidays and can get to Cardiff I highly recommend visiting Cardiff Museum. It currently has a really interesting exhibition about the miners strike.

Son’s 3rd uni offer came in today. So far, all good offers but not the one he wants. I don’t remember feeling this nervous for my own uni offers.

Last night was mixed. Chaired our Swansea West CLP meeting and went straight to a gig at the Patti Pavilion with my son. I reckon it won’t be long before he won’t want to be gigging with his mother.

Equal pay day today. Since we’ve had equal pay legislation since 1970, it’s really disappointing that there continues to be a pay gap in 2024.

@garethperry.bsky.social I just came across your posts; your father taught me art at school. He had a job, I’m utterly without any talent but I enjoyed his classes. I live near Cwmdonkin Park, and wondered why I haven’t seen him lately. So sorry for your loss.
