🐶🐱 This week I'm very excited to have another guest post, this time by poet Sara Farhat . Sara's going to introduce us to Sulala Animal Rescue, the only animal rescue in Gaza! Learn about Sulala (and read some of Sara's beautiful poetry) at imagopalestina.substack.com/p/guest-post...

A black and white digital graphite drawing of two Afro-Palestinian men and a dog. Top left is Saeed Al-Err, middle aged, looking over his shoulder. Middle right is Sa'ed Al-Err, his adult son, roughly 30. Both have kind eyes, short cropped hair, and short beards. The dog, bottom left, is a medium sized breed with big, wet eyes and floppy ears.

🍄Throwback to this page from a little collab comic that unfortunately never materialized. It was gonna be a fictional hourly comic about an inky cap mushroom (I think they even had a name?) where everyone drew a different hour. Honestly it's still one of my favourite pages of mine 😅

A black and white comic page of a mushroom waking up at 1am and being frightened by a late night cooking show. It's drawn in a horror style. The mushroom makes popcorn, sits down in front of the TV (text: "Sleep proves elusive..."), turns on a show where a spooky woman is cutting into a mushroom, gets scared, and hides behind he couch (text: "Late night programming only makes it worse.")

This week I want to introduce you to 13-year-old Zakariya Barbakh. Why him? As Israel keeps trying to torpedo the ceasefire and shift the blame, it's important to remember that they've been breaking the ceasefire since day 1, starting by murdering Zakariya. Read more at ImagoPalestina.Substack.com

🌟 "They will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us." 🌟 Let me introduce you to a Palestinian family I've been thinking a lot about lately. Read my thoughts at imagopalestina.substack.com/p/yousef-mar...

Three Palestinians. One, a man with wavy hair, a moustache, and a melancholy expression, labelled "Yousef." Another, a woman with a headscarf that exposes the front of her hair, also looking melancholy, labelled "Maryam." The third, a baby, sleeping, labelled "Yusa." A glowing purple star hovers over them on the right.

🐑👼 Today I'm thinking about shepherds, fear, and the complexity of the "ordinary." Meet Ali Awad, an activist in Masafer Yatta who protects Palestinian shepherds while we in the rest are too focused on shepherds from 2000 years ago. imagopalestina.substack.com/p/ali-awad-a...

A smiling, bearded Palestinian man, Ali Awad, rendered in greyscale pencil. He's wearing a kuffiyeh on his head, and a glowing symbol featuring a horn, a shepherd's crook, and a halo, is superimposed above him on the left.

oh my gosh 👁️👁️ I dropped my link to a free copy the most recent issue of Words Plural! I sure hope nobody pins it to the top of my feed for anyone to enjoy 😫 drive.google.com/file/d/1Bvmy...

The cover of my comic, Words Plural: Finders Keepers. A black and white painting of a child with a baseball for a head holding a tiny human head, saying "Finders Keepers." Bright pink accents on the title "words plural" and other small elements.

Two panels from a comic. Black and white illustration. The first shows a glowing angelic figure flying away over a snowy mountain range. The second shows a hand, which had been reaching out, slowly lowering, surrounded by snow.

A crop of a comic panel. Black and white illustration with grey halftone. A teenage boy with long sweaty hair, wearing a baseball helmet and jersey, is running, surrounded by word bubbles urging him on.

A crop of a comic page. Grey, pencil-esque illustration. Two hands reach out against a snowy grey night. Text reads "I'm lost as usual, but the frostbite is new." and "My tear glands are cracked and dry, and the fire ants in my thighs are long frozen."
