This is mostly built on community infrastructure, it uses @microcosm.blue 's spacedust as its interaction firehose & constellations for showing you your likes. Thank you @bad-example.com! I am beyond excited about what the ATmosphere ecosystem means for the web!

But if you'd rather use cookie based auth, or are just a huge nerd (props!) you can self host the bridge with the building blocks I provide - or have an agent vibe up a backend against the web component's API specifications.

The component comes with a bridge backend, that is needed for oauth callback, authentication & live updates to posts via SSE . The default bridge is hosted on my own VM and I pledge to continue running it free of charge as long as my wallet permits.

I built this to dogfeed @svebcomponents.dev - so it works with every framework that supports custom elements and can even be rendered on the server with svelte, react, vue & astro. It will hydrate on the client, and once users log in, get live updates from the atproto ecosystem via spacedust.

<atproto-comments> is a web component that allows you to simply drop a thread onto your page and have users read & write comments on your site. all your users need is an ATmosphere account (bluesky, eurosky, their own PDS hosted from their basement) to log in using oauth. atproto.svebcomponents.dev

svebcomponents is a toolkit for building boilerplate-free, type-safe, server-renderable web components with Svelte. for now it's still in beta, so please play around with it and let me know what you think! svebcomponents.dev

In the newest UIT INSIDE episode, @danabra.mov guides me through the layers of the AT Protocol: from at://URI and DID to PDS, repositories, relays, all the way up the stack to AppViews It's a bit technical, but Dan’s gift for clear analogies should make it approachable for anybody atproto-curious 🦋
