Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 28/03/2025I Love Lucy was enhanced to generate an HD/widescreen version of the show. This required generating the set from the footage. It lacked the 4th wall and ceilings. Seinfeld’s set isn’t cohesively possible. 110
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 28/03/2025Ironically, some of the people and companies that worked on The Hobbit (1977) became Studio Ghibli. The style was taken from an illustrated short story magazine. 020
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 27/03/2025🔥 These diagrams are everything against open data, action bias, and humanism. What we missed: • Compartmentalization breeds wickedness—no info flow, no shared understanding • “Getting Stuff Done” = zero mechanisms to do • The ideal Prince? A Monster We deserve better. 010

Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 26/03/2025I find it funny for a very different reason....it breaks a Star Wars Rule that technology is only what's available in the the 1970s. Because the new ChatGPT image processing happened today, here's me with a Holocron...and dragon fly wings. 010
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 24/03/2025Rights, it's a GPS receiver not a GPS transmitter/transceiver. 010

Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 23/03/2025I suspect the shiny topped building in Starship Troopers was inspired by a hotel in San Francisco. #GDC #Memories 010

Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 16/03/2025As humans, we value things other people have touched because it gives a connection to the past. The value of the sheet music is because it's in paper. These same objects in PDF are worth significantly less. I scanned my books, so I have 2 of these in PDF. They are mostly worth sentiment. ;) 000
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 16/03/2025Litopterna lived around 62.5 million to 12,000 years ago. I believe it was a partial influence on the Eopie, which seem to be a cross between a Litopterna and a camel. Man is life's biggest threat 000
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 14/03/2025What's your favorite racing movie? Apple's F1 (2025) is coming, so I'm watching racing movies. My favorites are pictured. Recently watched Tony Scott's Days of Thunder (1990), which is ok, but I'll never watch it again. Starting Ron Howard's Rush (2013). On deck are 1 (2014) and Le Mans (1971) 100
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 13/03/2025Much of the music of the Middle Ages is lost because it wasn't written down. Our music today is not written down and how to make the music is not captured in the recording (e.g. prepared piano). 010
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 09/03/2025Exactly. If you’re playing by their rules, you’re always at their mercy. Build your own tools, control your own platform, and stop letting them decide what works and what doesn’t. 010
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 05/03/2025What's your favorite Oscar Best Actor performances? I'm going with David Niven - Separate Tables (1958),Sidney Poitier - Lilies of the Field (1963), Wallace Beery - Champ (1931), and Jack Lemmon - Save the Tiger (1973). There are so many good ones. Paul Newman - The Verdict (1982). 010

Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 18/02/2025Twilight Zone: Back There (1961) A man travels from a present-day Washington, D.C. social club to 1865, the night of President Abraham Lincoln's assassination. Spoiler: He's unable to stop the assassination, but he was able to make some small changes. Pictured: Russell Johnson (Professor) 010
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 17/02/2025Thank you for reading my comments. I use a piano or a Diddley Bow as an example. A piano has hinges that move when the a key is pressed, which produces an sound. I don't know a solution where I can effectively use gltf to put into multiple virtual worlds (even if it's coding in 10 languages). 100
Steve Van Loon @svanloon.bsky.social · 22/12/2023The old studios are pretty much gone by merger. It's amazing that the names are still in use. I'd love it if they merged and called themselves RKO Radio Pictures 000
