Got Windows 11 working again grump grump grump and RPG Maker is having no issues there. Guess macOS 27 and the age of MZ are not liking each other. More grump. Anyhoo, back to game dev for now until I can pick up round 2 of new glasses. (I really miss drawing...)

I always had a negative view of this game outside of controls and was thinking it’d be like FF7 where I was remembering incorrectly. Wanted to judge it one more time as it was then before OoT Remake but oh well. I tried. I’ll just wait now. End of rambling.

I wanted to give this game a chance like FF7 but it’s too primitive for its genre. I have beaten this game twice (once on 3DS) but it’s proving tough for a third time. Navi failing at locking on, hard to angle jumps, throw and drop on the same button, B does not mean “no”, the camera and so on.

Wanted to give the original OoT a shot before remake. Always saw it as the FF7 of the Zelda franchise. Overhyped as the best because it’s the first 3D version like FF7. Then I replayed FF7 and had a lot of fun. OoT however… I gave up because the controls are so… well like Mario 64, a first 3D game.

Finished Mario Odyssey. Between this and TOTK, I am done with timing dodges against final bosses for a while lol. Anyhoo, I had a lot of fun playing it. And now I have a nice pick up whenever game for the plethora of post game content.

Picked up my new glasses the other day. They make my head look big. I was sold progressive lens and after a few days with them, I can so for certain I won't be drawing any time soon again. Ugh. They have done nothing to help me see better near or far, just made it harder or worse. Grump.

Giving Mario Odyssey a second try. Can't remember when I first tried? 2 years ago? First time I played I did not like the controls. This time it's now clicking. Not a top Mario game for me but I'm having fun.

Played Super Street Fighter II arcade on easiest difficulty to test recordings. Get crushed repeatedly by the stinking no good input reading CPU. This is stoopidly hard for "easiest"! "Rumor is the international versions have a bug that always sets the difficulty to hardest." ... I believe it.

Doesn't help that a lot of beats that TOTK follow are too close to BOTW so it's almost like I'm playing the same game again. I find the building mechanics to be more work than fun and brings the pace to a halt (even with Auto Build). Top 5 least favorite for me but can say I beat it finally.

After 5 attempts of trying to enjoy Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, I can say for certain now that I have beaten it for the first time, I still do not enjoy it. Even playing on version 1.0, It's a game of tedium with final battles that overstay their welcome (and has some BS).

Also I find the 8BitDo Pro 3 controller a downgrade from the SN30 Pro. The D-Pad is my biggest gripe with it hitting diagonals way too easily. Like it's too loose or floaty on the contacts? Was so excited when I finally got one but oof. Massive let down and regret the purchase.

Haven't played Super Metroid / Zelda 3 Randomizer in a long time. Figure it would be fun to pick it up again. This seed does not want me having fun NOR does it want me playing Super Metroid. Doesn't help I'm Morph Ball locked by all paths in SM! Might as well have been a plain ol' Z3 rando run lol

Back to the old art set up with my iPad. The Wacom was nice to use but this is much better for my back. Desk space is also nice to have again since the Wacom isn't consuming all of it. Wallet took a hit though since had to buy a new monitor arm and second display.

You sit over there for now and think about what you did. Or didn’t do. Or can’t do. Already had plans to purchase a nicer, smaller, lighter replacement. Unfortunately not now. Definitely prefer the pressure sensitivity over my iPad and Apple Pencil.

I had a feeling with Nintendo stating discount and not upgrade pack for Age of Calamity on the Switch 2. $30 for the digital upgrade? Nah. I love Hyrule Warriors but not that much. I’ll survive with the Switch 1 version.

I want get excited for the new Metroid but I did not enjoy Dread. Didn’t care for the EMMI segments and bosses felt like bullet sponges to me. Maybe I’ll have to try again after not touching it for so long. Did that with Dark Souls and that clicked on my second attempt.

This was suppose to be a quick doodle done over a day of a dumb joke I had in my head... The joke didn't land for me in the end and before I knew it, I'm redrawing the doodle and it became a full piece. ... Good job, brain! Not like I have several other pieces of art that need to be finished.

Been enjoying @agentannk.bsky.social PC-98 streams, especially the Idol Project games. So much so and since I am on an art kick, had to draw the best (to me), Layla. Then I had to be extra and draw three slightly different versions: My modern take, original anime promo art, and of course, PC-98.
