Yes the beginning of 2026 is already super awesome suck-sauce. But have you considered going to the King Arthur Baking school and learning to make laminated dough? Because that’s an escape to buttery goodness.
Baked croissants filled with chocolate. A perfectly golden color with crispy buttery texture. Laminated croissant dough rolled and filled with chocolate. Ready to proof and then bake.

Sassy, the Maine Coon, got her spring lion cut. Happy Caterday!
A majestic orange and white tabby Maine Coon with a spring lion cut. She is wearing disco boots and a full tail, plus a furry mane. She is laying in the sunshine with her poochy belly showing. She is smiling.

I may be misreading this, OK OEM, as in the entire state of OK, has a budget of 500k.
Screenshot of tweet by OK Rep Rosecrants describing the measly amount of funding the state spends on EM.

Bruce Pollock linkedin.com/in/bruce-pollock-2619211a3 is presenting work at #AMS2025 on how people who are aging are described in NWS graphics and text heat products. 2/
A graphic with an image of Bruce Pollock, green hair, tuxedo, smiling, on an orange background. The text says "Communicating extreme heat information to adults 65 and older" and includes a fire icon with text saying "include members over 65 in message development," a sunshine icon with text saying "use images that capture the personalization of people over 65" and a thermometer icon with text saying "increase awareness that people over 65 may not view themselves as Elderly an adopt our communication accordingly."

Members of my research team are at #AMS2025 in New Orleans, LA. Sav Olivas linkedin.com/in/savannah-olivas-391502275 is presenting work on jargon used to communicate about winter weather and the importance of language that helps decision making. 1/
graphic of a talk that will be given by Sav Olivas at the American Meteorological Society meeting in New Orleans. She has brown hair and wears a brown jacket and is smiling. The text says "living through the freeze: insights of Erie County Residents About Extreme Cold" and provides three key points about the findings from her research. First includes an icon of a cloud with snow and says "terms like lake effect snow tend to be learned through lived experience"; the second is an icon of a snowflake and says "participants prefer the use of wind chill as a descriptor for cold; the third is a triangle with a snowflake in it and says "participants prioritize information that tells them how to protect themselves"

May your day be filled with as much wonder as a cat waiting for a piece of curling ribbon that they can eat and later retch onto the carpet. #cats

A few snaps of Sassy the Maine Coon cat who lives in upstate New York. Just because she lives up to her name. #cats

#IAEM2024 had horrible cell reception in the entire venue so I missed out on live posts. But here’s a few photos from the event

Most of my posts are about disasters, vulnerable populations, alerts and warnings, and cats. Not necessarily in that order. I appreciate a good effin birds message occasionally. Really, I'm just at my keyboard now to see how this app works. It looks pretty similar to that which will not be named.
