I say or write something and someone says, "what an idiot!." I hear or read something and I say, "what an idiot!." So, basically, we are all idiots! 🤷‍♀️

Cooler morning (60s). Less hot day (80 to 90). A good opportunity to bake! Buttermilk Honey Bread. Delicious! 😋

Ta-da! Rye Bread. 🤗 I haven't baked bread since April! This is a new recipe, and it is tasty. It tastes like the kind of Rye Bread you'd get with a really good Rueben sandwich or Patty Melt at a deli. Yummy! So satisfying to be baking again and feeling well enough again to take it on.

Interesting little paperback I discovered on one of our bookshelves. From 1971.

I tell myself that future generations will look back on these times in our country and see them as stains. Stains on democracy. Stains on humanity. But my real fear is that future generations will look back on these times and see them as their glorious origins. I think I am losing hope.

So Facebook, Messenger and Threads are all down. Hmm.

Threads asks me if I am interested in this post. Why doesn't it ask me if I am distressed by this post? Yes. Yes, I am! Distressed!

I will just bake bread today. Nothing I can do about that evil man & his evil ways. Nothing I can do about his vile acts & our troubling days. Nothing I can do about his sycophants with their worshipful gaze. I will just bake bread today. And yes, I will go to the polls in November and have my say.

Tiger Milk Bread for tomorrow's lenten compass group. That's chocolate, folks. Black cocoa and semi-sweet chocolate pieces, to be exact. We'll see how the slices look tomorrow after a 24 hour rest. Can't wait!!! 😋🤗 #Episcopal #Lent

There is a danger in becoming desensitized to the "horrid." I get that many of us are trying to manage our own mental health in light of all the "horrid." But numb is not good. Pain, while unpleasant, serves a purpose. The "horrid" can quickly become the norm, and that is the danger.

My mental health day bread. Of course, it has a big burp in the middle! 😤 That's okay. It will taste great! I can't wait to get to that part of the loaf. Big slices from the burp! 🤣

Suing us for leaking his tax documents while siccing DOGE on our personal records and files, while acquiring our personal voting records and data, and while having stooges walk around scanning our faces for inclusion in a registry. Anyone? 2/2

No matter what else is happening in the world, the bread still rises. Where bread is rising, there is hope. We should bake more bread for each other. The world would be a better place if we did. Here is a loaf of Light Wheat for you all!

My first time trying to bake Tiger Milk Bread. I used a small Pullman pan. I am pleased with the outcome. This process was out of my wheelhouse, so more practice needed. A little more complex than I am accustomed to. Tastes good! 😋 The household likes it! 🤗

Let's elect a non-GOP majority to the House & Senate in November. Then let's impeach Trump & Vance. Remove them! Then seat the NEW Speaker of the House as President. Then clean house & clean up this mess! I'm not just talking firing. I'm talking indictments & prison & maybe Guantanamo! It's a plan.

40.3 oz container of Folger’s Columbian coffee today at Sam’s: $22.48. Exactly 1 year ago the same was: $14.98. Increase of $7.50 in 1 year. 50% increase. ☹ The price hikes aren’t just for coffee. Forced into making changes & other choices. Not happy about what is happening in DC! #DumpTrump

I had my mouth washed out with soap a time or two as a kid when I said bad words in public, Mr. President. I even spelled your bad word one time and got the bar of soap! Mom always said she used Ivory soap. Pretty sure it was Dial. Nasty soap for nasty talk. Here's a bar for you!

Trump & every one in his administration & every enabling member of Congress SHOULD BE IMPEACHED. From 45,000 in December to this! He lit a match and toodled off to his golf course, a bit like Nero plucking his fiddle. We cannot allow him to torch our country. What is wrong with you, Republicans????

I dare say, as academics, economists, and other leaders look back on this time in our U.S. history in the coming years and decades, this period … this presidency will likely become known as the time of America’s Great Shame.

The Oval Office ambush of Ukraine’s Pres Z was despicable, but I was taken with the dynamic between the VP & POTUS. VP reached over & patted POTUS like a person might do to a dottery old fool who was having a meltdown. The “leader of the ‘free’ world” patted like the dottery old fool that he is.

There are many Americans here in the US that are feeling like the spouse of a narcissistic, controlling, isolating partner—our “leaders”. We loathe what we are seeing unfold. We know you might feel compelled to judge us all, but for many of us, we are not them. Pray for the US but do what you must.
