Rewatched the whole of S3, and ended up loving it even more. The season is a character study of Lestat, how he became the person capable of the things he did in s1-2, both in good and bad. Changes in Gabriella were necessary to explain how the drop was possible - he was abandoned and abused

S3 was not what I was expecting and didn't feel as compelled by it as I did seasons 1 and 2, but it was a great dive into Lestat's psyche and a catalyst for personal growth that will carry into future seasons. S4 has a chance to deliver us a new less frantic perspective

My other favorite show! And I agree, it does have similarities with IWTV, especially when it comes to story telling, moral ambiguity and living in the fringes of society. In S1 it's still finding it's tone a little, I'd recommend sticking with it till the end of S1 to see if it's for you
