Release Day! The Mrs. Astor by Deanna Lynn Sletten ~ My Thoughts #TheMrsAstor
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Deannaon the release today ofThe Mrs. Astor! The Mrs. Astor by Deanna Lynn SlettenWomen's Sagas, 295 pagesPublished October 6, 2026 by Deanna Lynn Sletten Inspired by true events, this richly researched novel offers an intimate portrait of the woman who reigned over America's Gilded Age—and the unforgettable night that tested her power, her convictions, and her heart. New York City, 1896 On the eve of her annual January ball, Caroline Schermerhorn Astor reflects on her life and all that has led up to this moment. She is about to reintroduce her daughter, Charlotte, into society after a scandalous divorce. Society dictates that divorced women simply disappear, but Caroline refuses to ban her daughter from her rightful place. After all, Caroline is the woman who runs New York City society. If anyone can break the rules, it’s her. From her privileged childhood among the families of the oldest Dutch settlement in New York to her marriage to William Backhouse Astor, Jr., one of the richest men in the country, Caroline has done everything expected of a proper society wife. With elegance, determination, and an unwavering belief in tradition, she raised the Astor name to even greater heights and created an exclusive world where only the most distinguished families belonged. But now, all that could disappear if New York society rejects her because of her daughter’s scandal. Whatever the consequences, Caroline will hold her head high, because she is The Mrs. Astor, and no one can take from her what she values the most—her precious family. My thoughts about The Mrs. Astor ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"Caroline Webster Schermerhorn Astor sat in front of her dressing table mirror, contemplating the face that stared back at her, reflecting on her life and the decisions she'd made up until now." While reading The Mrs. Astor, I was transported to a different time and place. Honesty, I found myself still there long after I finished the book, that's how enthralled I was by this story. I literally was thinking about the people I met and the setting of this book for days after I was done. Deanna Lynn Sletten has always produced amazing historical fiction stories and this one is another stellar example of her thorough researching skills. I found myself completely swept up in the lifestyles and events of this time period that she wrote about. I admire Mrs. Astor and respect the strength and resilience she had in a time when women didn't have much power in their lives. Thanks to this book, I now have a better understanding of the life that women survived back then.  I loved everything about The Mrs. Astor and highly recommend it. If you read historical fiction, you are going to love it too. I received an ARC of The Mrs. Astor and this is my honest opinion. ******************** About the author Deanna Lynn Sletten is the author of Mrs. Winchester's Biographer, The Ones We Leave Behind, The Women of Great Heron Lake, Maggie's Turn, The Lake Harriet Series, and several other titles. Release Day! Dark Current Redemption by Ashley Farley ~ My Thoughts #DarkCurrentRedemption
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Ashleyon the release today ofDark Current Redemption! Dark Current Redemption by Ashley Farley(Sutherlin Files Series #4)Women's Crime Stories, 216 pagesPublished October 6, 2026 by AHF Publishing Some sins refuse to stay buried. Some wounds refuse to heal. Newly elected sheriff Lane Sutherlin thought the worst was finally behind her. She was wrong. As Tidewell struggles to recover from decades of corruption, Lane finds herself facing the greatest challenge of her career. Old enemies remain at large, dangerous secrets are still buried beneath the town's carefully polished surface, and powerful forces are determined to protect the past at any cost. With danger closing in from every direction, Lane must fight for the future she's worked so hard to build. But justice isn't the only thing at stake. As long-buried truths come to light, she is forced to confront the choices that have shaped her life, the betrayals that still haunt her, and the people she has spent years trying to forgive—including herself. The battle for Tidewell isn't over. Neither is Lane's search for peace. Because redemption comes at a price. And this time, the cost may be everything. Dark Current Redemption is the unforgettable conclusion to the bestselling Tidewell series—a gripping story of family, forgiveness, justice, resilience, and the enduring power of love.     My thoughts about Dark Current Redemption ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"I return to work the day after getting shot. Every rib protests as I push through the front door, but I've endured worse." What a satisfying conclusion to this fabulous series. As satisfying as it was, I am also a little sad that my journey into the world of Lane Sutherlin and Tidewell is over. I enjoyed this series so, so much! Things are finally going in Lane's favor but not before there's a lot of danger and drama. Things land where they should but not before she and everyone around her are tested. This one was definitely a page-turner, edge-of-my-seat kind of read. I loved it! I highly recommend this series, where you'll get it all—Ashley's wonderful storytelling, amazing characters, plenty of drama, and the feeling that the bad guys should not win. Dark Current Redemption was an exciting read and the perfect conclusion to this series.  I received an eARC of Dark Current Redemption and this is my honest opinion. Release Day! Life Out of Order by Audrey Niffenegger ~ My Thoughts #LifeOutOfOrder #NetGallery
Happy Release Day! Congratulation Audreyon the release today ofLife Out of Order! Life Out of Order by Audrey Niffenegger(The Time Traveler's Wife #2)Time Travel, Fiction, 560 pagesPublished October 6, 2026 by Knopf Canada Alba DeTamble has never lived a life in order. Born with the same rare Chrono-Displacement Disorder as her father, Henry DeTamble, Alba is an involuntary time traveler: She slips unpredictably through decades, carrying the weight of a future she can witness but cannot change. Yet she strives to maintain a normal life: As a gifted violinist, Alba finds refuge in her music, as well as in her tight-knit community of artists and activists who fight to take care of each other in an increasingly unstable world.  As she dips in and out of time, Alba is haunted by secrets she must keep from those she loves most, including Zach, her safe, supportive anchor in the chaos. Her journey takes her from the riot-torn Chicago streets to the eerie, timeless “Yellow House” to the digital corridors of the Museum of Lost Souls, a virtual sanctuary of forgotten memories and lost artifacts. With every leap through the years, Alba is forced to reckon with the choices that define her, the people she cannot bear to lose, and the question that haunts every time traveler: Can you ever truly belong to the present? My thoughts about Life Out of Order ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"All revolutions go down in history, yet history does not fill up; the rivers of revolution return from whence they came, only to flow again." The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my all-time favorite books, if not my favorite. It's one of only a few books that I have read multiple times, which is rare for me. I can't believe it was first published in 2003. That's twenty-three years ago! I was so excited when I saw that Ms. Niffenegger was coming out with a sequel.  Life Out of Order is the story of Alba, the time traveling daughter of Henry and Clare. Through the jumps in time like her father experienced, we get to catch up with the family and get a little peek into what the future might be like. Time traveling has become a known and accepted thing but Alba still runs into issues with the past, the present, and the future.  I loved that we were able to visit this family again and go through the emotional turmoil, and the love, that they experienced. Scenes that made me tear up in TTTW also made me tear up again in LOOO, even though I knew they were coming.  Like I said, I absolutely loved The Time Traveler's Wife and I now I love Life Out of Order. Both books will have special places on my bookshelf. I highly recommend them both. I received an eARC of Life Out of Order and this is my honest opinion. *************************** About the author Audrey Niffenegger (born June 13, 1963 in South Haven, Michigan) is a writer and artist. She is also a professor in the MFA Creative Writing Program at Columbia College Chicago. Niffenegger's debut novel, The Time Traveler's Wife (2003), was a national bestseller. The Time Traveler's Wife is an unconventional love story that centers on a man with a strange genetic disorder that causes him to unpredictably time-travel and his wife, an artist, who has to cope with his constant absence. Her Fearful Symmetry (2009), Niffenegger's second novel, is set in London's Highgate Cemetery where, during research for the book, Niffenegger acted as a tour guide. Niffenegger has also published graphic and illustrated novels including: The Adventuress (2006), The Three Incestuous Sisters (2005), The Night Bookmobile (2009), and Raven Girl (2013). Raven Girl was adapted into a ballet by Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor and the Royal Opera House Ballet (London) in 2013. A mid-career retrospective entitled "Awake in the Dream World: The Art of Audrey Niffenegger," was presented by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington D.C.) in 2013. An accompanying exhibition catalogue examines several themes in Niffenegger's visual art including her explorations of life, mortality, and magic. Jingle Bells, Wedding Vows by Paula Dombrowiak (Hollow Reign, #3) Publication date: October 6th 2026 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Holiday, Romance He’s the uptight rockstar directing the music for my burlesque Christmas show, and driving the grumpy maestro to throw his sheet music is my favorite hobby. Then we wake up married, and he can’t remember a single thing about our night together. Theo Mercer is an arrogant control freak in rolled-up sleeves and glasses who thinks he can tame my headlining act. But on my stage, I call the shots. Beneath the falling stage snow, the friction between us is hot enough to burn the theater down. When our accidental Vegas wedding explodes across the tabloids, Theo swallows his pride and drops to one knee to propose a holiday charade: play blissfully wedded—which means moving my insufferable new husband into my cramped studio apartment. Forced proximity beneath the mistletoe turns our backstage feud into breathless passion, and behind closed doors, our fake marriage starts to feel dangerously real. Except our vows have an expiration date. When the tinsel comes down on New Year’s, Theo has to leave. He swears he’s coming back. But I stopped believing in Christmas miracles a long time ago, after a string of men who never kept their word. If I let down my walls only to get burned by my fake husband… I won’t survive the fall. Jingle Bells, Wedding Vows is Book 3 in the Hollow Reign Christmas Novellas, a series of interconnected, steamy holiday romances. Each book can be read as a standalone and features a guaranteed happily ever after. Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble iBooks | Kobo ********************* EXCERPT In sleep, she looks almost angelic. Which would be a lot more convincing if I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing she’s a complete and utter menace in sequins and red lipstick who has spent the last couple of weeks driving me insane. The star of the Christmas show who argues with me about every note I wrote for her number. The woman who loves to push my buttons like no one I’ve ever met before. Mara Delaney. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Do not tell me I did what I think I did. My stomach drops as I lift the edge of the sheet and look down. Finding myself still in my boxers should be reassuring, but the relief is fleeting, swallowed almost immediately by a deeper sense of dread. I turn my head toward Mara. The sheet has slipped just enough to expose the curve of her bare shoulder. I pinch the edge of the sheet to lift it. Please don’t let her be naked. Please don’t let her be naked. Fuck, she’s naked. I don’t remember how I got here. Last night is a haze of disconnected pieces, and everything that matters is missing. I ease out of bed with the stealth of a military operative trying not to set off a bomb. My shirt is draped over a velvet armchair, and I pull it on before anything else because I need at least one layer of dignity between me and whatever the hell happened last night. One of my Vans sits near the bathroom door. I shove my foot into it and search for the other, getting a good look at Mara’s apartment in the process. I run a hand through my hair and pull it back to stare at it before my brain catches up to what I’m seeing. There’s a gold band on my ring finger. Not the kind that comes out of a gumball machine. What the actual fuck? My gaze snaps to Mara. I lean over the bed to see Mara’s hand curled loosely around the sheet, dark red polish chipped at the edges. The ring on her finger matches mine. This has to be a joke. Some elaborate, deeply unfunny prank, and when I find Casey, I’m going to kill him slowly, because somehow he’s responsible. There’s a marriage certificate on the nightstand next to my phone. ********************** About the author Paula Dombrowiak grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois but currently lives in Arizona. Release Day! Class Reunion: Keep Your FRIENDS Closer by Gail Ward Olmsted ~ My Thoughts #ClassReunion
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Gailon the release today ofClass Reunion! Class Reunion: Keep Your FRIENDS Closer by Gail Ward Olmsted (Raising the Bar #2)Women's Crime Fiction, 264 pagesPublished October 1, 2026 by Black Rose Writing She befriended me. She betrayed me. Now, she needs me. A phone call from jail pulls attorney Lennon Gallagher back into a past she's spent years trying to escape. Complicated doesn't begin to describe the bond between Lennon and the caller, a former law school classmate. Now, Erin stands accused of the very violence Lennon has spent her career fighting against. It's a conflict of interest, but isn't everyone entitled to competent and effective legal defense? What starts as a plea for help spirals into a murder trial that threatens to incinerate Lennon's professional reputation as well as her upcoming marriage. Guided by her best friend, seasoned lawyer Miranda Quinn, Lennon digs for the truth, only to find a mountain of evidence that points to Erin's guilt. The cost of loyalty is high, and the stakes are even higher as Lennon questions if Erin was ever truly her friend. But does that make her guilty of murder? A story of friendships, true and false, and going the extra mile for the ones we love. My thoughts about Class Reunion ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"I was the last one to leave the office on Friday afternoon. My co-workers had all bailed early to get a head start on the long holiday weekend." I first met Lennon in book one of this series, Class Action, when she was a law student trying to navigate a tough situation. Now in this book, she once again finds herself in a predicament that she has little control over.  Her former law school classmate calls her for help and the circumstances go against all that Lennon is fighting for in her practice. Can she set all that aside and help out a friend in need? And then when it becomes a murder case, Lennon is even more conflicted. This is not her area of expertise.  I really enjoyed Class Reunion. I loved reconnecting with Lennon and seeing how she has grown since law school. I loved being a part of her life and loved the character development that the author brought to the table. I hope there are more stories about Lennon and her life as a lawyer.  I highly recommend Class Reunion: Keep Your FRIENDS Closer for anyone who loves legal drama with a side of personal satisfaction. I received an ARC of Class Reunion and this is my honest opinion. Buy Family is Family to rekindle soul-inspiring goals today! Goodreads | Amazon **************************** EXCERPT At five o’clock, I closed the shop to dash to Ivy’s scrimmage. When I arrived, I found Reid surrounded by two of our four daughters. Forcing my most enthusiastic smile, I climbed over familiar faces, settling between my seventeen-year-old daughter, Willow, and my twelve-year-old daughter, Daisy. Reid gave a small smile and a slight wave before scooting closer to Daisy to make room for my large satchel. “You missed it, Mom,” Willow said. My eldest tilted closer, her long strawberry-blonde hair hanging to her elbows, framing the freckles dotting her makeup-free cheeks. I leaned forward, keeping my eyes on Ivy. “Missed what?” “She opened the game with a three-pointer.” My stomach dropped. I should have been there, and I knew she knew I wasn’t. My thoughts moved to Reid and how he had put us in this situation with his wanting a divorce, but still wanting me to help with the store. He was the one who had wanted out and needed a change, yet here I was, missing out on another important moment in my daughter’s life. I glowered at him, but he was on his feet, clapping for Ivy’s friend who had just hit a free throw. I turned my smile on and waved to Ivy, who looked away with irritated eyes. Shoot. She definitely knows I wasn’t there. “How was your day?” I asked Willow. “Great. I had practice with Riley, and she thinks I’ll be ready for pit auditions for the musical.” Riley O’Connor had been teaching my girls piano for nearly a decade. Willow, the most studious of the four, worried me with her need to overachieve. Maybe it was because we had left her in charge of her sisters when we reopened the business after Covid five years ago. She was twelve, and Daisy, the youngest, was just seven. “That’s wonderful! Good luck with auditions. Next week?” I raised my eyebrows at her. “Yeah. Oh, and Riley asked if Daisy’s lesson could be rescheduled. I can’t remember the day.” “Sure, I’ll call her.” I looked at Daisy, immersed in her coloring book, first outlining the images and then lightly shading the inside. The spitting image of her father, I recognized the Roman nose and always rounded eyebrows, emoting an element of surprise regardless of the situation. Across the gym, Ivy guzzled water, and Mari, my fourteen-year-old, strolled across the backside of the opposite bleachers. “Where’s Mari going?” “Probably to see Dillon.” Willow tipped her head as my eyes followed her to a tall, athletic-looking boy with a curly mop of acorn-hued hair. “Who’s that? I haven’t heard that name before.” I watched my daughter return his hug, and her nose pressed into his shoulder. Willow rolled her eyes. “Mom, where have you been? They’ve been talking for a while.” The sight of Dillon’s rather full goatee prickled my skin, and I raised my eyebrows. “How old is he?” “A junior. He’s in Ivy’s classes.” Leaning back, I tried to get Reid’s attention, but he was absorbed in his phone screen, looking at who-knows-what. “A junior?” “Mom, he’s harmless.” “Does he drive?” “Not that I know of, but I don’t keep tabs on him.” “He’s closer to your age than hers. She’s a freshman. He probably drives. I don’t like it.” I held up my hands to rephrase my sentiment. “I’m sure he’s a nice boy, but he’s too old for her.” Willow shrugged. “Mom, he’s new to school this year. He’s probably figuring out where he fits in.” I touched her leg and gazed into her eyes. “You would tell me if he wasn’t good for her, right?” “Yes. Believe it or not, he’s in honors classes and plays varsity soccer. Ivy and I have done our research. He’s harmless. Nothing is going on between them. They’re just talking.” I rolled my shoulders, slightly releasing all the tension from the day as I watched Mari walk toward us. I wanted to say something, but I couldn’t. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions when I didn’t have all the info, and I needed Reid and me to be on the same page. Knowing him, with his carefree decision-making skills and impulsivity, he probably hadn’t even noticed this man-boy with our daughter. He needed to pay attention, or we might find ourselves in a sticky situation with Mari and her social life in the future. About the author E.D. Hackett is an only child who always wanted a sister. You'll find themes of sisters and mother-daughter relationships in almost all her novels, where she concocts complex relationships wrapped in forgiveness. Edy lives in New England, where the beaches, lobsters, and quirky cafes are characters of their own. She has two children (three if you count the dog), and in her spare time, she dreams about living in Ireland. The Novelists by Joanne DeMaio ~ My Thoughts #TheNovelists
Congrats Joanneon the recent release ofThe Novelists! The Novelists by Joanne DeMaioSeries: The Seaside Saga #28Women's Saga, 260 pagesPublished September 2, 2026, by Joanne DeMaio From New York Times bestselling author Joanne DeMaio comes The Novelists, Book 28 of The Seaside Saga. Maris and Neil. To many, they’re known as the novelists of Stony Point. But while Maris is tasked with completing Neil Barlow’s unfinished manuscript, there’s a problem. She’s stymied by the ending. It’s clear her old friend had something in mind—but what? In this New England beach town, Neil’s ghost is ever elusive. Or is it? Because after a startling confession one evening, Neil unexpectedly returns to Maris—and Jason especially—in an entirely new way. A way that brings a stunning plot twist to Maris and Neil’s manuscript, as well as to Jason Barlow’s life. And The Seaside Saga continues. The Seaside Saga on Goodreads The Seaside Saga on Amazon *************************** My thoughts about The Novelists ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"Night fills the barn. Long, dark shadows stretch across Jason's studio." The Novelists continues right where the previous book ended, dropping me into the world of Maris and Neil, as she continues writing Neil's story. Life goes on in Stony Point, as people are living their best lives as love, friendship, and drama continue. I love this community and all of the people who live there. I find myself completely wrapped up in their lives and enjoy each moment I get to spend with them.  And like always with this series, the ending leaves me wanting more and wondering where the story is going to go from here. I'm love getting the newest story in the Seaside Saga and quickly devour it, anxious for the next installment. I highly recommend this series and this author.  Book #29, Driftline, is set to be published on March 2, 2027. ******************* If you're new to The Seaside Saga, the reading order is below. Written like an ongoing TV show, it's a revolutionary series following the same tangled group of beach friends from book-to-book. *************************** About the author Joanne DeMaio is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary fiction. She enjoys writing about friendship, family, love and choices, while setting her stories in New England towns or by the sea. Book Blitz! One Night Band Stand by Julia Kent ~ Excerpt and #Giveaway #OneNightBandStand @XpressoTours
One Night Band Stand by Julia Kent (Get What You Need, #2) Publication date: September 30th 2026 Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance Who accidentally has a one-night stand with her alumni band director? Yep. Me. I know what you’re thinking. Whoops! I slipped on some valve oil and accidentally landed on his baton during a rousing chorus of Stars and Stripes Forever. That’s not quite how it went. But the alumni band director is really, really skilled with that baton, if you know what I mean. So what am I supposed to do now, as I walk into the morning’s rehearsal — three feet from the podium because of course I play piccolo — and find the guy I ghosted on this morning … right there, smiling at me like he remembers exactly what tempo I prefer? He’s perfect. Too perfect. He’s a widowed dad of two adorable little kids that — oh, by the way — he forgot to mention. But I also haven’t mentioned the seventeen-year-old I live with, either. He’s not my boyfriend. I’m his guardian. He’s autistic and non-speaking, and he’s been my whole world since I was nineteen. I want Mr. Band Director. He wants me. Nothing — not the secrecy, not the awkwardness, not the 500 miles between his life and mine — will make this chemistry stop. Except for three pesky little things: the secrets we’re hiding from each other. Three very human secrets. I’ve never felt so seen before. He gets me. I get him. But we’re buried in responsibilities and loyalties that get in the way. When I’m with him, I can play. Really play. And not just music. He can’t quit his job and move his kids to be close to me. I can’t uproot a fragile teen who needs round-the-clock care and is still mourning his parents. The odds are stacked against us. But who ever let that get in the way of love? Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble iBooks / Kobo *************************** EXCERPT There are naked boobies in my bed, and they are not my wife’s. What have I done? My body goes cold and hot, skin pulsing against the sheets, blood pooled in morning wood. Wood that rests against my not-wife’s thigh. My eyes widen. My beard itches around my lips, lips that feel raw, my tongue a bit overused at the tip, like I just had sex with – I cheated on my wife. I cheated on my wife. My beautiful, amazing wife who tells me she loves me ten times a day. Who laughs at my stupid music jokes. Who smiles like she’s actually interested in my high school band stories. Who — Told. Laughed. Smiled. Past tense, Jared. Two years, two months, four days of past tense. — is dead. Stacey’s dead. Right. Damn it. I close my eyes, jaw tight, inhaling slowly, my nose cold inside, the physicality of it breaking through panic. The unreality of her death still shatters my sleepy self every morning like a car alarm I can’t fully disable, one blissful second of not-knowing, then the loop of grief. That sour taste. The shock. The anger. The pain, physical and emotional. Stacey is dead. Which means I’m not cheating. I’m just in a hotel room with a very naked, incredibly alluring woman who isn’t my wife. So then who the hell is this in my arms? She’s cute. Warm. Soft. So soft. The arm Ms. Not-Wife is sleeping on went numb in my sleep. I haven’t moved it one millimeter, shoulder locked, neck doing that isometric thing as her weight presses into my bicep. It should be uncomfortable. It isn’t, and somewhere in sleep my hand found her arm and started stroking it. I just realized it’s doing this. My hand likes her. My cock sure does, too. I really like the softness. Naked softness takes the liking up several notches. Another clue this isn’t my wife: I’m on the bathroom side of the bed. Ms. Not-Wife’s hair is blonde and straight, spread across my arm. Stacey’s was darker, curly, and Stacey had to pee constantly, especially after giving birth to our oldest, Molly. Every apartment, every house, every hotel, every guest room, every beach rental for nineteen years: Stacey got the bathroom side. The woman in my bed is not Stacey. The HVAC unit hums on an E-flat that’s four cents flat. Not concert E-flat. An E-flat that vibrates like it’s committing a felony against freon. It is the most passive-aggressive sound in Indiana, and that’s saying a lot, because have you ever gone to a church picnic in this state? Those ladies are lowkey brutal. The print above the bed is a seashore painting, a Thomas Kincade knockoff, something a lifelong southern Indiana resident thought would evoke Cape Cod but instead makes me think Dungeons and Dragons on acid. It goes with the burnt-orange carpeting somehow. I half expect a Jello-O egg mold as part of the continental breakfast downstairs in the bar where I picked up… this woman. I actually approached a woman at a hotel bar, and she chose to sleep with me. Me. Not-Wife’s hand is on my chest. She has short nails, no polish, the thumb hooked into the dip below my collarbone like she put it there on purpose. Her thumb knows what it’s doing, which is more than I can say for the rest of me. Her ribcage moves into my ribcage every four or five seconds and back out, long even breathing so constant I’ve started matching it without meaning to. Waking her up means having to talk, and I don’t know what you say after you pick up a woman in a hotel bar and now you’re both naked under the sheets, vulnerable and freaking out a little, yet liking it. A lot. Not-Wife smells like vanilla and sex and the chemical-linen scent of every business hotel pillowcase put into circulation since 1994. The bar lighting was bad last night, so I’m seeing things this morning I couldn’t see then: a mole on her cheek. Long dark lashes against it. A dimple at the corner of her mouth that’s there even when she’s not smiling. She’s gorgeous. Morning-gorgeous, unadulterated. Her face was not-yet-defined last night, just a woman who was blonde and smiling under bad bar lighting. She has lips I kissed last night, a tongue that danced with mine and tasted so good, and her breasts are smashed against my side like little pets curled up, seeking warmth. I have forgotten how nice this is. A person breathing into your neck. A warm softness against your body. Your bare skin against theirs. I took this for granted for too many years, and once it was gone I felt the absence like a phantom limb. ********************** About the author New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Release Day! It's Only Love by Kay Bratt ~ My Thoughts #ItsOnlyLove
Happy Release Day! Congrats Kayon the release today ofIt's Only Love! It's Only Love by Kay Bratt(Hart's Ridge #17)Saga Fiction, 398 pagesPublished September 29, 2026 by Red Thread Publishing Group Wade Barrett's dog came home but he didn't. Everyone believes Wade drowned. Walker Barrett never has. Eight months after his brother vanished off Florida's Gulf Coast, the discovery of a single piece of evidence reopens a case everyone else has long since closed. Determined to uncover the truth, Walker follows a trail of secrets that leads far deeper than he ever imagined. When private investigator Sam Gray agrees to take the case, it quickly becomes clear that someone has worked very hard to keep the past buried, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to keep it that way. With Sheriff Taylor Gray helping uncover the truth, the investigation soon exposes hidden betrayals, broken loyalties, and secrets someone would kill to protect. Josie Colburn likes her life simple. Running the marina keeps her busy, and keeping people at arm's length keeps her safe. Then Walker arrives. Grieving, stubborn, and searching for answers, he's the last complication she needs. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore the connection growing between them and the danger closing in around them. Someone knows exactly what happened to Wade Barrett. And when the truth finally surfaces, Walker and Josie may lose more than either of them is prepared to give. It's Only Love is the seventeenth novel in the bestselling Hart's Ridge series—a gripping blend of mystery, romance, family secrets, and the unforgettable characters readers have come to call friends. Loosely inspired by a real Florida disappearance that captured national attention, It's Only Love explores the secrets we keep, the lies we tell, and the lengths we'll go for the people we love. My thoughts about It's Only Love ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First lines—"The smell of grilled fish drifted through the open windows of Daniel and Tula's home, mixing with the familiar scents of saltwater, sunscreen, and whatever tropical candle Tula was obsessed with this month." I don't know how Kay Bratt does it but she just keeps creating amazing stories, with each one more exciting than the last. It's Only Love is over the top! She really outdid herself this time. And the cliffhanger at the end? OMG! A missing man, declared dead, get Taylor and Sam to drop everything to help solve the case. Walker, the man's brother, doesn't believe the story about his missing brother and wants it investigated further. Secrets are uncovered and people's lives are in danger.  One of the many things I love about this series are the multiple storylines that the reader gets to enjoy. Not only is there the crime in each book that needs to be solved, but then there are also all the other storylines in the story. We get to know all of the characters better and learn about their lives and what they are going through. I've come to think of these people as my friends.  The Hart's Ridge series is an amazing set of stories, with memorable characters and interesting plotlines. I highly recommend It's Only Love. I love this whole series—it just keeps getting better and better.  And the author just keeps writing this series. Yay for us!! Book #18, I'm Losing You, is expected to be released on January 26, 2027! Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Noble iBooks | Kobo *********************** EXCERPT The day was beautiful, with clear skies and a mild snap in the air. It was cold yet warm with the right amount of heat from the sun, making it the perfect spring day. Motorboats and sailboats dipped in and out of the water, out by Poet’s Bay. And at the edge of the harbor were the fishermen, alone or in groups of two or three, a rod in their hands and their tackle boxes opened beside them. We rounded the corner, almost done with our walk, when we saw mothers dragging their children away and fathers covering the eyes of the children in their arms. Pushing against the stream of parents scrambling away were others whose eyes were fixed on the man by the harbor’s edge. A man on whose fishing line dangled a catch with, what I thought were, red fins and a red tail swaying lazily around the hook. Red? In the salt waters of Poet’s Bay? As I stood there trying to figure out what I was seeing, Barbara shoved her way into the crowd. I followed, my curiosity getting the better of me. Murmurs of “Good morning” and “Good to see you, Mrs. B” trailed behind me, changing to “You sure you want to see this, Mrs. B?” and “I wouldn’t go any further if I were you, Mrs. B.” We fetched up to the front and looked down on the ground before us while the fisherman beside us puked his guts out. It wasn’t a fish he had caught. Instead, on the ground was a hand. Just a hand. Nothing else. ************************** About the author GG Calpo is a retired lawyer and accountant who traded contracts and numbers for the far more enjoyable chaos of fictional crime. Now she writes cozy whodunits featuring warm-hearted golden-aged sleuths who’ve seen it all, heard it all and will investigate a murder with zero hesitation. She loves stories where the stakes are personal, family and friendships are paramount, with characters who refuse to follow the outline and endings that pull the rug out.  When not plotting twisty crimes—on paper only, of course—she spends her time reading, crocheting blankets and sweaters for her five grandchildren, watching mystery TV shows and taking long walks in her neighborhood. My thoughts about Beach Thriller ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. Book Blitz! The Awful Truth by Melanie Summers ~ Excerpt and #Giveaway! #TheAwefulTruth @XpressoTours
The Awful Truth by Melanie Summers (The Glass Houses Collection, #2) Publication date: September 24th 2026 Genres: Adult, Suspense, Thriller, Women’s Fiction They have money. Status. And terrible judgment. It was supposed to be the ultimate escape. A curated guest list. A luxury yacht. A week on the crystal-clear Adriatic, far from everyone’s real lives. Except no one is there for the view. Careers, contracts, and futures are all quietly in play. Antonia and Ted have built a global brand on their perfect marriage, which would be more convincing if they could still stand each other. Mercy has spent years smoothing over the worst instincts of her powerful husband, convinced the man she fell in love with is still there. Winslow is hiding a secret that could end his career, while his husband, Miguel, is carrying news that will change everything between them. And then there’s Charlotte—the assistant everyone overlooks. Which gives her an excellent view of everything. The first night, the drinks flow, the gossip gets vicious, and everyone shares far more than they should. But what’s a little indiscretion among new friends? The trouble with a yacht is that there’s nowhere to go once you’ve said too much. No separate hotels. No quick exits. Just the same people, fewer places to hide, and another breakfast together in the morning. By the third day, one marriage is as good as over. One guest is desperate enough to do something irreversible. And Mercy is realizing the man she loved was all for show—and the man she fears is who he really is. Before any of them set foot on solid ground again, one of them will be dead in the water. Privilege has protected them from consequences for years. But desperation can make even very comfortable people do terrible things. The Awful Truth is a sharp, warm, wickedly funny domestic suspense novel about marriage, power, and the spectacularly bad decisions people make when they have everything to lose. For readers who love the wit and heart of Liane Moriarty and Sally Hepworth, with the glamor and menace of The White Lotus. Heat Level: Open door, spicy not explicit Tone: A fast-paced, suspenseful, emotional, character-driven dramaSeries Type: Standalone, part of a collection of domestic suspense novels Ending: Emotionally satisfying, book club/upmarket resolutionPOV: Multi-POV, third person Content Notes: Infidelity, emotional abuse dynamics, death, suicidal ideation, brief sexual violence, psychological tension Goodreads | Amazon ****************************8 EXCERPT Charlotte sat back, tuning out the conversation while she stared out at the hills and smattering of buildings along the highway. So far, the city wasn’t much to look at. A lot of low brush and an irritating bank alongside the road that only allowed the briefest glimpse of the water. But soon, she’d be surrounded on all sides by the clear blue Adriatic Sea, and she felt a surge of excitement. It was her first time in Europe. As a teenager, she always thought she’d go right out of high school—backpacking and staying in hostels for a few months, really living, as her mother, who’d never gone farther than Niagara Falls from their home in Muskegon, would say. But in the end, Charlotte met a boy and decided he was more exciting than Italy and France and England combined. Only he wasn’t. He was a huge disappointment, and by the time she realized it, it was already move-in week at the University of Michigan. So here she was, at the ripe old age of twenty-nine, getting her first taste of the ‘old world.’ This wasn’t how she imagined it (few things were)—sandwiched between her lover and her lover’s wife in the back of a limo—but this was how she had arrived. Charlotte was sleepy and mixed up and felt guilty as all hell, but she was here. She had made it. She’d take as many glamorous pics as she could to post on her Instagram account. Her friends would be filled with envy which they would mask with comments like, ‘Looking hot, mama!’ and ‘You deserve it. You work so hard. Have an amazing time, girlie!’ But she wouldn’t be having an amazing time, would she? She’d likely be working long hours—maybe even through the night—to liaise between the studio and her bosses, not to mention having a front row seat to the ‘Ted and Antonia pretending to be blissfully happy’ show, which she’d much rather skip. She knew it was all bullshit, at least on Ted’s part. An act meant to keep the multi-million-dollar ruse going. It was bad enough when they were on set and she had to watch them gaze into each other’s eyes and act like they were still in the playful honeymoon phase. Ted had warned her that they’d have to lay it on extra thick around Mr. and Mrs. Bishop, but not to let it get to her. Because he only wanted her. None of that was stuff she could share on Instagram, or tell her friends, for that matter. She’d keep her secret and smile, like she always did. But at least she could pretend she was having a wonderful time. About the author Melanie Summers also writes steamy romance as MJ Summers. Melanie made a name for herself with her debut novel, Break in Two, a contemporary romance that cracked the Top 10 Paid on Amazon in both the UK and Canada, and the top 50 Paid in the USA. Her highly acclaimed Full Hearts Series was picked up by both Piatkus Entice (a division of Hachette UK) and HarperCollins Canada. Her first three books have been translated into Czech and Slovak by EuroMedia. Since 2013, she has written and published three novellas, and eight novels (of which seven have been published). She has sold over a quarter of a million books around the globe. In her previous life (i.e. before having children), Melanie got her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, then went on to work in the soul-sucking customer service industry for a large cellular network provider that shall remain nameless (unless you write her personally - then she'll dish). On her days off, she took courses and studied to become a Chartered Mediator. That designation landed her a job at the R.C.M.P. as the Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator for 'K' Division. Having had enough of mediating arguments between gun-toting police officers, she decided it was much safer to have children so she could continue her study of conflict in a weapon-free environment (and one which doesn't require makeup and/or nylons). Melanie resides in Edmonton with her husband, three young children, and their adorable but neurotic one-eyed dog. When she's not writing novels, Melanie loves reading (obviously), snuggling up on the couch with her family for movie night (which would not be complete without lots of popcorn and milkshakes), and long walks in the woods near her house. She also spends a lot more time thinking about doing yoga than actually doing yoga, which is why most of her photos are taken 'from above'. She also loves shutting down restaurants with her girlfriends. Well, not literally shutting them down, like calling the health inspector or something--more like just staying until they turn the lights off. She is represented by Suzanne Brandreth of The Cooke Agency International. When I Kill You by B.A. Paris ~ My Thoughts #WhenIKillYou
When I Kill You by B.A. ParisThriller, Mystery, 304 pagesPublished February 17, 2026 by St. Martin's Press Who is watching Nell Masters? Nell Masters is certain someone is following her. The hairs on the back of her neck rise when she travels to and from work, there are silent calls to her office, and a huge bouquet of flowers arrives without a card. And Nell has a reason to be looking over her shoulder, because she has a secret that she’s hiding from everyone in her life, including her new partner, Alex. But Alex also has secrets of his own. Fourteen years earlier, when Nell went by the name Elle Nugent, she witnessed a student, Bryony Sanders, getting into a stranger’s car. When Bryony was found murdered, Elle became obsessed with finding the person responsible. She was convinced she knew who it was and her fixation with Brett Parker, the man she accused, led her down a dangerous path . . . Now, Nell tries to convince herself that this unnerving feeling of being watched is all in her mind. Has someone from her past discovered her new identity? Has the stalker become the stalked? Or is there something even more deadly at play?      My thoughts about When I Kill You ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First lines—"It's the lamp going out in the living room that alerts me the electricity has been cut." I'm a huge, huge fan of B.A Paris and have read all of her books. No one writes a thriller like she does! When I Kill You did not disappoint. What a roller coaster ride.  Nell Masters has secrets and is hiding from her past but does someone know about her past? And is someone stalking her? This is a suspenseful look into the world of secrets and drama.  Once again, B.A Paris has created a story that kept me on the edge of my seat, one that I couldn't read fast enough, but one that I didn't want to end. I love when an author can do that. I highly recommend When I Kill You if you are a thriller lover like I am.  I received aa ARC of When I Kill You and this is my honest opinion. ************************** About the author B.A. Paris is the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of eight novels including the word-of-mouth hit, Behind Closed Doors, and her latest psychological thriller, When I Kill You. Over nine million editions of her work have been sold worldwide and her books have been translated into 41 languages. Her novel, The Breakdown, has been adapted for film under the title Blackwater Lane. Before becoming an author, B.A. Paris, who spent most of her adult life living in France, worked in finance as a trader before retraining as an English teacher. Book Blitz! Hidden Words by Christine Roy ~ Excerpt and #Giveaway #HiddenWords @XpressoTours
Hidden Words by Christine Roy Publication date: September 22nd 2026 Genres: Adult, Gothic, Mystery A Novel by Award-Winning Author Christine Roy Some secrets don’t stay buried. They wait for the right mind to hear them. In 1994, on the rocky shores of Cape Ann, Massachusetts, Ben Barrows begins his senior year at Masters’ Preparatory like a dead man walking, half his friendships already over, just not yet buried. Then Dana Kirkland arrives: a new student, a rival dancer to his powerful ex-girlfriend, and the one person who might save him. Together, Ben and Dana try to hold on to love against a tidal wave of pain and treachery neither of them saw coming. In the present, Joey Barrows is drowning in grief. As he crosses the graduation stage, a terrifying gift awakens, the unspoken words of everyone around him, pouring uninvited into his mind. When Joey discovers his distant, unstable father shares this same curse, the door to a devastating past swings open, releasing secrets, obsession, and ghosts that refuse to stay silent. Told across two timelines, Hidden Words is a gothic, speculative mystery about the inheritance of trauma — and the terrible cost of truths left unspoken. Perfect for fans of We Were Liars, Black Swan, and The Turnout. Hidden Words deals with mature themes including trauma, family abuse, and sensitive interpersonal relationships. Recommended for mature young adult and adult readers. Goodreads | Amazon **************************** EXCERPT Raising his head, he approached the distinguished, black-gowned dean. The ringing in his ears pitched higher. With cold dread sluicing through his veins, he shook the dean’s hand. His mind crackling with a storm of energy, he looked the man straight in the eyes and took his diploma. Guess scholarship kid didn’t waste our money. “I’m sorry, Sir. What?” He squinted up at the unsmiling man. A distorted hum circled around him as the man’s words echoed in his head—clear, yet unspoken, not the shadowy wisps of noise he’d experienced before. “Keep it moving, Barrows.” “It’s just that I…” Joey stammered, his breath ragged. Shame bubbled up through the scars on his body like oil from the ground. He gaped at the dean’s stone face. “I heard you.” The words slipped from his lips. “Christ, just move Barrows.” I’ve had enough of your pathetic sad-boy act. Joey nodded, stomach twisting. His thoughts raced and twisted in his head. It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be. He wasn’t psychic; nobody was. Withering beneath the dean’s glare, he flicked his tassel to the left and stumbled to the end of the stage. Desperate, he scanned the crowd, fairytale hope rising in his mind. Maybe he was there. Not likely. Ben Barrows worked and hid. A son’s graduation didn’t fall into either of those categories, especially since these were the halls of Ben’s past. Traces of that Ben, shining and connected, existed in pictures behind glass cases like an extinct museum specimen. They looked so similar, with their dark hair, wide-set green eyes, and lanky frames. But that Ben was a ghost. ************************** Hidden Words Blitz Giveaway ************************* Be sure to check the sidebar for all of my current giveaways!

Goodreads | Amazon ***************************** EXCERPT 1866 London England Prologue He shivered as a draft moved through the room. He sorted through documents spread out before him, organizing them into careful piles. He thought about the conversation that had occurred and anger exploded inside his head. The upstart! What did he know about anything? He, who had studied with Dr. John Snow, so renowned in his field. His throat was dry. He pulled the decanter of whiskey toward him and poured. The amber liquid splashed on a piece of paper but he brushed at it dismissively. He drank it quickly and it seared his throat but he poured himself another. He contemplated the glass this time before drinking. He should have known. Those do-gooder types didn’t understand the true sacrifice he was making. They couldn’t see the big picture. They couldn’t see what was really happening. What he was trying to do. He set the glass back down without taking a sip and saw that his hand was shaking. Blast it! It had all been going so well. Why couldn’t they leave him alone? Now what. He looked about the room. The draft no longer bothered him and he felt a sweat break out on his brow. There was much to do. But most importantly, he must find his medical notes. They had been right here on his desk. He was certain. It was a necessity. No one would have come into his room and removed them, had they? No. They wouldn’t dare. He pondered it. Perhaps his assistant, the new fellow fresh from school, had simply moved them. No. He wouldn’t. He had expressly told him not to meddle with his things. He didn’t like it and he had everything just as he liked it. So where were they, dammit! A knock sounded at the door and almost caused him to jump. The hour was late. Who could it be? “It’s me,” the familiar male voice called out. His benefactor. The one with all the purse strings. He must play the part at least for him. “Just a moment,” he called back. He looked at his reflection in the window and saw that his hair was disheveled. He took out a comb and quickly brushed his wavy hair in place. The desk was in disarray and he quickly placed the papers in neat stacks to show the appearance of order. Jesus, what awful timing. He called the man to enter and the visitor did, looking about the room. “Am I interrupting you?” the older man asked. “Certainly not,” he replied. “I was looking for some misplaced medical notes. That blasted assistant must have moved them. I told him not to meddle.” The older man settled himself into the red leather chair. “I wanted to speak with you privately. It’s important.” He swallowed visibly and appeared to be trying to find the words. “The hour is quite late.” “It is. You’ll forgive me.” The older man nodded. “I would have waited but—” He almost stumbled over his words. “It must be something of great importance to bring you here at this late hour,” he noted. His benefactor seemed to take in the words and almost seemed dazed. “Yes,” he said in agreement. “Something most concerning has reached my ears, most concerning,” he repeated for emphasis. The man had no time for this. What’s more, he didn’t want to hear anything he had to say. It was irritating that in all of his important work, he had to give the man anything. For Christ’s sake! Didn’t this feather-head realize what was at stake? But he steeled himself and responded as he should. “What is this concern?” But instead of answering outright, his benefactor merely looked about the room. “I scarcely know where to begin.” In a flash of blinding anger, he resisted the urge to stand up and reach over the table to slap the man’s face. Who did he think he was? How dare he presume anything? The man might have status and money but little else. Just because he had been born into the right family, what else did he have? Brains? Certainly not. If he had been born a common person, he would be selling fish at the docks. But he calmed himself. He knew who he was. He was the one with brilliance and brains, decidedly so. He was the one who had risen and become the man he was today. He was the shining star. But he needed the older man’s patronage. He knew that. He would have to play the game, then, and pretend to care about whatever was preying on the man’s mind. If the man told him something stupid like they had not enough places set at the dinner table or the china was mismatched, he might strangle him. Instead, his expression stayed mild, untroubled. “Tell me the concern. Perhaps together we can alleviate the issue.” Relief eased across his benefactor’s face. “Yes. This must be a mistake. It can’t be what I’ve been told. I heard something from my sister, but she can ramble. But then the vicar came to me—” “Oh yes?” “And the family solicitor—” “Him as well? My, my,” he said, trying to pretend to care. “What is it they are saying? Tell me quick.” He only hoped he would tell the story quickly so he could be on his way. Then without preamble, his benefactor began to speak. He laid out the whole issue, the concerns, the rumors and the whispers that were being spoken about and how grave the matter was. He mentioned his sister’s concerns and a young man who had spoken to the solicitor’s son and on and on the man babbled. He thought if the man was a tenor opera singer, his aria would last thirty minutes. It was exhausting and supremely irritating. “It’s fantastic – is it not?” His benefactor said. “Most fantastic. I can hardly fathom it myself. I told Delly she was ridiculous. She should know better than to pass on rumors.” “That is – quite a story,” he agreed as he pulled the decanter to him once more. “Quite a story.” He poured the man a drink and pushed it across the desk to him. He took up his glass from earlier and took a long sip. “What proof is there of these allegations?” His benefactor’s shoulders dropped. “That’s just it. Some rumors and whispers. But as it’s reached my ears, as your benefactor, we must discuss it.” “My, my.” He set his glass down. “And what are you prepared to do?” “Get to the bottom of it!” His patron said passionately. “Good God, man! These are lies, slander! I’ll not have you slandered! You could sue in court. I’ll be your witness,” the older man’s face grew red with exertion. “Very decent of you,” he murmured. He swirled the amber liquid in the glass absently. “Very decent of you indeed.” “Of course, my dear chap,” the older man looked relieved. “Least I could do.” The mantel clock chimed the half hour. “That’s of course assuming these rumors are false,” he said quietly, taking another sip. “What if they are true?” His benefactor looked slightly irritated. “This is no time for jests, old boy,” the older man said curtly. “The rumors are grave. I might even say macabre.” “Macabre?” he echoed. “Yes!” But he just continued to stare at his patron while swirling the liquor in the glass. “Wait. What are you – what are you saying?” His benefactor suddenly straightened up in his chair. “In plain English. Gentleman to gentleman. I demand you tell me what is happening.” “Your witnesses speak the truth.” The silence between the two men was deafening. “No. No, that can’t be.” His patron grew pale. “I assure you, it is,” he said, his mouth curving. His benefactor suddenly looked sick in the low gas lights. “No. I- I don’t believe it,” he whispered. “Well, you certainly don’t need to believe it.” “But if the witnesses are correct, and the rumors are true,” he visibly swallowed, “you’re a—” He shook his head. “Yes? Go on.” He was amused at the turn of conversation. The man was an idiot. “You’re a monster.” He sat back in his chair and surveyed his patron. “Come now. There’s no need for dramatics.” But his benefactor stood up then. He looked flushed now. “I demand you refute these rumors laid at your door! I demand it!” Calmly without saying a word, he pulled a cigarette from his silver case and lit it. He took a long drag before responding. “The rumors are not rumors,” he said steadily. “Your witnesses are correct.” The man’s face drained of color. “I’m leaving tonight,” he told him. “There need not be any fuss or theatrics. I will leave quietly and continue my work in India. The matter will end and you will squash the rumors.” “The hell I will!” His face was now mottled with anger. “The hell I will!” He took another sip of whiskey completely unbothered by the man’s outburst. “If these things are true, you should be imprisoned! Hanged even!” “No, sir. I won’t be.” “Why won’t you be?” The patron demanded. “For the simple reason that you helped me. Your family helped me, your vicar helped me. You are complicit. Whether you like it or not,” he told him. “No,” he whispered and fell into the chair. “I’m not. That’s not what I did. I thought – I thought you were helping. I thought you were a savior. We all thought that.” “Hmph! Did you really? Or did you also want to be involved with the discovery of a lifetime?” he said coolly. “Perhaps you wanted to even take a bit of credit as my benefactor.” His benefactor sputtered out several words but nothing made sense until he finally whispered, “How dare you?” He poured himself another glass enjoying himself and the interaction. “So. As I said. I will leave quietly. You will let everyone know that I was called to India of the utmost importance, and nothing else will be said.” “You can’t get away with this,” he said weakly. “You can’t.” “My dear chap,” he said, his face showing no emotion. “I already have.” ************************** About the author Nicola is a Los Angeles native. This is Halloween by Sarah Branson (A Blue Spruce Hills Novella) Publication date: September 17th 2026 Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance Midwife. Halloween. A Pennsylvania hill town. A ghost with an agenda. A historian with patient eyes. Jules Lockwood, nurse-midwife and family nurse practitioner, wants two years of loan forgiveness and a one-way ticket to Australia. Her obstacle: a town that keeps finding reasons to need her. Eli Matthews, Blue Spruce Hills town historian, is the kind of man who came back when it mattered and stayed. He brings coffee every morning without being asked. Agnes Bell, midwife, 1856 to 1931, has been waiting in Blue Spruce Hills since her death for the right pair of hands to pass her work to. She has found them. She is not subtle about it. On Halloween night, when the veil between past and present is at its thinnest, everything Jules came to Blue Spruce Hills to avoid arrives at once. This Is Halloween delivers the satisfaction of a woman choosing herself and her work on her own terms, a slow-burn romance that earns every moment, and a ghost story that will make you wish you could have known Agnes Bell. • small town romance• ghost mentor• found community• slow burn• woman finding home• past and present collide• reluctant to stay• Halloween setting• professional woman romance• haunted by the past (literal)• second chance at belonging Heat level: closed door Series: Blue Spruce Hills, Book 1 — standalone, complete story, no cliffhangerPOV: third person limited, Jules Tense: pastSetting: small Pennsylvania town, October through May Comp titles: The House in the Cerulean Sea; Beach Read; A Discovery of WitchesContent notes: pregnancy and birth depicted (clinical, not graphic); brief mention of historical pregnancy loss (off-page); deployment/absent spouse (minor character) Goodreads | Amazon ********************* EXCERPT Juliet “Jules” Lockwood had sworn exactly six times since leaving the highway and crossing the Blue Spruce Hills town line. All six had been silent. All six had been necessary. She pulled her Subaru into the gravel lot beside the Blue Spruce Hills Community Clinic and sat there longer than necessary, hands wrapped around the steering wheel like the car might attempt escape without her. Outside, the October sky was an intense blue with a few white clouds scudding across it. A carved pumpkin grinned from the clinic’s front step. Orange lights shaped like leaves were looped around the porch railing. Just up the street, a plastic skeleton swung from a telephone pole, rotating haphazardly in the wind. Jules stared at the skeleton. The skeleton appeared to stare back. She opened the car door, stepped out onto the gravel, closed her eyes, and took a deep inhale. Wood smoke and baked goods, harvest-sweet with cinnamon and nutmeg. It was, Jules thought grimly, aggressively charming. She took a step and nearly collided with a man holding a cardboard tray of coffee. “Oh! Sorry!” he said, immediately steadying both the tray and her elbow with equal care. He was tall and laid back, with dark hair that the wind had done something unrequested to and kind brown eyes, soft and patient, the sort of eyes that suggested the person behind them listened when you talked. He wore a canvas jacket the color of cedar bark and was smiling with the easy confidence of someone who had nowhere to be and was fine with that. “You must be Jules.” She froze. This was… unfortunate. Because those eyes were going to be a problem. She recognized his type immediately, the way one would recognize a load-bearing wall, structural and quiet, that the whole room organizes itself around without anyone quite noticing. Those eyes reflected the sort of steadiness that belonged to men who stayed. She had believed that about someone once. Believed it comprehensively and inconveniently, and at considerable personal expense. Never again. “I’m Eli Matthews,” he said, and held out the coffee tray. “Town historian and unofficial town greeter. I brought options. Decaf, regular, and one with oat milk, because the clinic called ahead and…” he paused, reconsidering his own sentence, “okay, I asked Margaret at the post office, who asked Clara at the bakery, who said she had heard that you’d mentioned oat milk to someone at the gas station in Lehighton.” Jules stared at the tray. “That’s a significant intelligence operation for a cup of coffee.” He smiled, a little sheepishly. “Small town. We have patterns.” He glanced at the pumpkin on the porch. “Also, it’s October. We take hospitality seriously in October.” She reached for the oat milk coffee. Behind her, someone cleared their throat very distinctly — the throat-clearing of someone who had been waiting a respectable amount of time and was now done waiting. Jules’s hand tightened around the cup. She recognized that sound. She knew it the way she knew a change in barometric pressure, in her teeth, at the base of her skull, in the specific cold that moved along her spine when something was present that had no business being present. Absolutely not. I am not doing ghosts again. She turned slowly. ********************** About the author Award-winning feminist speculative fiction author Sarah Branson spent close to thirty years as a midwife before turning to fiction, writing tales of action, adventure, revenge, and romance rooted in the strength and resiliency of the human spirit. Book Blitz! All That Remains by Samantha Grosser ~ Excerpt and #Giveaway! #AllThatRemains @XpressoTours
All That Remains by Samantha Grosser Publication date: September 15th 2026 Genres: Adult, Historical, Romance A choice shaped by war. A life in its shadow. One last chance to make peace with the past. 1998. Eva Marlowe has never asked her husband if he regrets his decision – she isn’t sure she wants to know the answer. But when news arrives that his estranged son has died, she feels the foundations of their marriage begin to shift beneath her. Then the funeral draws them back to Silverwood Hall where it all began, and she can no longer avoid the question. 1939. As Europe teeters on the brink of war, young socialite Eva Ravensby has been sent home from the Riviera in disgrace. Grounded at the family seat of Silverwood Hall, she chafes against the constraints of her upbringing, until her brother brings aspiring writer Ben Marlowe home for the summer. Ben is utterly compelling. And wholly unsuitable. So when he asks Eva to marry him the night before he leaves for war, she refuses. Duty must come before love, and her father would never forgive her. But how can she possibly know the train of events her answer has set in motion? As the war takes its toll on them both, her refusal shapes their lives in ways they can never undo. Then, in the aftermath, an unexpected second chance arises. But the price they must pay for it is more than they could have imagined. Now, decades later, as Ben grieves for the son he never knew, Eva faces the question she has spent a whole marriage refusing to ask: was she ever truly the life he chose? Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes & Nobles iBooks | Kobo ************************* EXCERPT On the day of the funeral, Eva drives with her signature brand of recklessness and skill. When they were young, the thrill of it was intoxicating: Ben can still recall with absolute clarity the heady feeling of that long ago summer before the war – an awareness of their youth and vitality and a belief in the wonders the future had in store for them. He had never felt so alive. But as he grew older and more aware of his mortality, each swerve and near miss became nothing short of terrifying. Now, watching Eva in profile as she slams her palm with impatience against the steering wheel at a slow car ahead of them, he finds himself thinking it would actually be quite a fine way to go, wrapped together in tangled metal, a definitive end. Eva lets out a curse as the column of traffic slows to a crawl and he quenches a smile, taking the opportunity to watch her a little longer. He will never tire of looking at her face, marvelling at the fine chiselled lines of her cheekbones and her jaw, the forget-me-not blue of eyes that are still as bright and clear as on the day they first met. She catches him watching her from the edge of her eye and turns her head. ‘Are you all right?’ Her question drags his thoughts reluctantly back to the purpose of their journey. George’s funeral. His son. He shifts awkwardly in the seat of the car. The trousers of the wool suit are rough and itchy – it’s been a while since he’s worn it and his skin has become more sensitive with age. He stretches out as much as he can in the confined space and tries not to think about how stiff his hips will be after an hour and a half in the car. ‘I’m fine,’ he says, and they both know it’s a lie. He’s still in two minds about going at all and with each successive roundabout they come to, it crosses his mind to ask Eva to drive right around it and take them back home. But he says nothing, and the Audi bears them in sleek leather comfort ever closer to their destination. ‘We don’t have to go,’ Eva offers, reading his discomfort with her usual clarity. ‘But you think I should,’ he replies, which is unfair, because they’ve talked about it endlessly in the days since the letter arrived and they came to the decision together. But he’s in no frame of mind to be reasonable. Anger seethes in his gut, bitter and relentless, and he only hopes he can contain it once they get there. Eva says nothing, eyes trained with uncharacteristic attention on the road ahead. Abruptly, the anger slides into guilt. Such a pointless emotion, but he’s spent most of his life in its grip, one way or another. Guilt for dreaming and wanting more; for hurting people and for poor decisions; for living a life that is full of regret for what he lost instead of gratitude for all he has. He loves Eva desperately and always has, but he’s conscious he has not always been the best of husbands. He lets out a low sigh. ‘I’m sorry,’ he offers. His wife flashes him a quick look of forgiveness, and he touches his fingers to where her hand rests on the gear lever. The last person in the world he wants to fight with is Eva. ********************** About the author Samantha Grosser is a very British author who doesn’t function without tea. Release Day! Falling for Peachtree Bluff ~ My Thoughts #FallingForPeachtreeBluff
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Kristyon the release today ofFalling for Peachtree Bluff! Falling for Peachtree Bluff by Kristy Woodson Harvey(Peachtree Bluff #5)Contemporary Romance, Autumn, 320 pagesPublished September 15, 2026 by Gallery Books Welcome to Peachtree a sweet, cozy small town where family is everything. The “go-to for elevated beach reads,” (People), Kristy Woodson Harvey, returns just in time for pumpkin spice season. The air is crisper, the water is calmer, but, when it comes to the Murphy family, nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems. Youngest sister Emerson is busy planning her dream wedding to Kyle. But her difficulty expanding her family is overshadowing her joy. Pregnant middle sister Sloane and her husband Adam’s dream house has turned into a nightmare. Everything is over time, over budget, and Sloane is over it. Eldest sister Caroline, as always, is there to swoop in and get her sisters’ lives under control. Until her focus is more than a little shifted by Emerson’s hunky costar who manages to sweep her right off her feet—just as her not-quite-ex-husband decides it’s high time he begged Caroline for a second chance. Matriarch Ansley and her new husband Jack have finally hit their stride. But when a scandal that would affect every single Peachtree Bluff citizen comes to light—and it seems like Jack just might be at the center of it—Ansley questions whether he is actually the man she thought he was. Through it all, these women must rely on their powerful family bonds, and the quirky characters and small-town charm of the place that, no matter what, always calls them home.      My thoughts about Falling for Peachtree Bluff ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First lines—"As humans, we are wired to forget. Flight delays, bad restaurants, even childbirth. We go back. Play on a gentler repeat. Because somewhere in the murky gray matter of our brains, the memory softens." Oh my gosh, I had forgotten how much I love the Peachtree Bluff community and all of the wonderful people who are a part of that place. Until I opened the pages of Falling for Peachtree Bluff and started reading, I didn't realize how much I needed to revisit everything and everyone. And fall is my very favorite season, so this story was perfect! Everything fall! For the Murphy family life goes on, a life full of love and laughs, but also with a good share of ups and downs. As they power through it all, family is always there for support.  I have loved all of Kristy's stories and this one is excellent. Falling for Peachtree Bluff is the perfect read for everyone right now—a story full of family, love, resilience.... and fall. It doesn't get any better than that, right? I highly recommend it! I received an ARC of Falling for Peachtree Bluff and this is my honest opinion. Read my thoughts about book 1, book 2, book 3, and book 4.  ************************** About the author Kristy Woodson Harvey is the New York Times, USA Today and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author of eleven novels including A Happier Life, The Summer of Songbirds, and The Peachtree Bluff Series. Release Day! The Wish List Trip by Kerry Lonsdale & Orly Konig ~ My Thoughts #TheWishListTrip #Bookouture
Happy Release Day! Congrats Kerry & Orlyon the release today ofThe Wish List Trip! The Wish List Trip by Kerry Lonsdale & Orly KonigFriendship Fiction, Travel, 331 pagesPublished September 8, 2026 by Bookouture The Wish List Trip is an unputdownable story of sisterhood, self-discovery and how not to smuggle your friend’s ashes through French border control… Addictive, escapist and bittersweet, perfect for fans of Elin Hilderbrand, Emily Giffin and Jojo Moyes. Dear Holly and Anna, I knew it would take drastic measures to bring you together, so, ta da, one drastic measure! I’m sorry I died. And I know you guys haven’t spoken in five years. But here’s the over fourteen days, you are going to scatter my ashes in every place we vacationed together in our twenties. I wish I could have fixed your friendship before I passed away. But dying comes with one perk—you can’t say no to me now. You’re going to have the best time. I’ve planned rum cocktails in Cabo and café hopping in Paris. And along the way, I’ll keep sending you letters. Because there’s a secret I wasn’t brave enough to share when I was alive… and if I know the three of us, I suspect we’ve all been hiding something from each other. The times we spent together were the best days of my life. Nobody made me laugh like you did, Anna. And Holly, promise you’ll let your hair down one last time for me. I hope by the end of this trip, there’s nothing left we’re afraid to say...xo, Zoe My thoughts about The Wish List Trip ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"Hello gals! I can't believe we're all together again. The three of us!" This was such a beautiful story of friendship and rediscovery. I was totally captivated by this book and loved every minute of it. Two friends embark on a trip at the request of the third friend who is no longer with them. Will this trip mend fences or will that tie be broken forever? I could relate parts of this book to myself and my friends. Not that we've traveled all over like Holly, Anna and Zoe did, but more of just recognizing the bonds that we have with each other. One of our friends has passed away, like Zoe did in this story, but we still get together regularly, to honor her and the friendships that she inspired.  This is my first time reading anything by Orly Konig. And of course I love everything Kerry Lonsdale writes. I think I have just found a new author to read because this collaboration by these two authors is amazing. Writing in general seems like it would be challenging enough but then to write with another person? That takes it to whole other level and that process just is mind-blowing to me. This amazing, creative duo has another book coming out in early 2027 and I am so excited to see what they create for us then.  The Wish List Trip is a spectacular, unforgettable story and one I highly recommend! I received an eARC of The Wish List Trip and this is my honest opinion. *************************** About the authors Kerry Lonsdale is the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Amazon Charts & #1 Kindle bestselling author of standalone and series-based emotionally charged domestic drama with over twenty-seven foreign language translations. The Last Summerville by Annabelle Lewis Publication date: September 1st 2026 Genres: Adult, Psychological Thriller, Romance, Suspense, Thriller Twenty-two-year-old Georgia Parker already carries more regret than most people twice her age. Practically an orphan, she’s reeling from the death of her grandmother, Mimi—the one person who made her feel safe from the chaos of her mother’s world. Alone in Carson City, Nevada, Georgia is determined to start over, to stand on her own. Yet Mimi’s final words echo in her mind: Take risks. Trust people again. Be brave. Then Heath Summerville steps into her life—charming, magnetic, protective, and so perfectly attuned to her needs it feels like fate. But the closer Georgia gets, the more she feels the pull of something she can’t name—something just beneath the surface of his charm. Strange silences. Half-truths. High-society circles and an ancestral house that feels more like a trap than a refuge. Lies are waiting to unravel. And by the time Georgia sees the truth, it might already be too late. Goodreads | Amazon ******************************* CHAPTER 1 “Get me out of this godforsaken town and back to civilization,” Vicky grumbled. Georgia, behind the wheel, glanced at her mom, Vicky, who was shakily applying lipstick while looking in a handheld compact mirror. Vicky clicked it shut, then pulled down the passenger visor, only to find the old car devoid of a larger mirror. She swatted it back up, then garbled a sound of exasperation before diving back into her purse in search of something else. Georgia didn’t see the lure of Las Vegas like her mother did. It was one of many differences between them. “No!” she suddenly exclaimed when Vicky put a cigarette to her lips, intending to light it. “Not in the car.” “Why are you such an old damn scold, Georgia?” Vicky scowled. “You’re twenty-two years old, for fuck’s sake. Your holier-than-thou bullshit has gotten worse. Every time I see you.” Vicky shook her head, then turned to stare out the window. Georgia swallowed back the words she wanted to throw in her mom’s face. Not today. Not after all they’d been through. They spent the rest of the drive to the Carson City airport in awkward silence. Georgia pulled to the curb at the departures area and then walked to the back of the Ford Bronco to help retrieve the bags. Vicky took them, mumbled goodbye, and walked away without a hug. “Goodbye, Mom,” Georgia called loudly as she shivered in the cold, standing next to the back of her Mimi’s Bronco. She watched Vicky drag her bag, her head bowed, her eyes already on her phone. She didn’t turn to give Georgia one last look of goodbye, nor acknowledge Georgia’s use of the tender moniker of “mom,” rather than the usual “Vicky.” It hurt. But why Georgia expected Vicky to suddenly become maternal was the bigger question. And neither of them had made falsely loving or empty promises to keep in touch. ********************** About the author Annabelle Lewis—a pseudonym for the author—lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regrettably? Perhaps. She still believes she’s a Texan even though the math no longer supports that. Nor her birthplace. Nor her residence. No offense, Minnesota. You’ve got your good points too, but only about six months of the year. In her youth, Annabelle was a complete failure. Ask anyone who knew her. Any of her teachers and family would tell you this. High school graduation was a sad day for all when Annabelle walked proudly off the high school stage, her thoughts consumed with boys, beer, and after-parties, and later into the arms of her parents. Her father’s laughter and singular remark? “I didn’t think you’d make it. Get a job at the post office, they have a good retirement plan.” A high bar and words to live by, but Annabelle wanted more. She needed to flunk out of college too. But damn, she sure did have a good time. Trivial arrest records not-withstanding, it was a growth period for our girl. And if you look closely, you’ll see a bit of what was to come when she majored in criminal justice. Her lifelong aspiration was to become a judge. Hmm. For better or worse, Annabelle didn’t graduate from college but did find gainful employment and a fulfilling career. This path ended when she became a mom. Married to her wonderful George, who to this day can hardly remember an actual proposal, Annabelle finally became a mother. She didn’t have a clue how hard she would need to work to keep those self-imposed requirements of Downey-fresh, iron-pressed sheets, home-baked meals, and mom-of-the-year awards arriving. She composed a small self-affirmation song and made her children sing it to her for money. She was a very good mom. After clearing the largest hurdles of motherhood and regrettably, begrudgingly, and not-without-tears, launching her children onto the world, she looked around and realized she had a lot to say. Picking up a laptop, she got to work. Annabelle spends her days continuing to tackle the challenges of motherhood, for both her humans and canines. She also writes. And reads. And cleans. And cooks. And bakes. And cleans again. She also supports her husband, George, in an administrative capacity for their small business. She’s in charge of payroll and cuts George’s checks. This leads to no marital acrimony. In the beginning, with the blank page staring at her and possibly in a hostile mood after being literally mauled by a dog and by the world in general, she had an idea. What if she could wield a force of good upon unsuspecting evil-doers? What if she had the resources to get the job done without dealing with committee and anyone else’s whiney-ass opinions? It was gold. It took off. Annabelle sat down and began to write and couldn’t stop. To date, having written over a million words in the Carrows Family Chronicles and her second series on the Boston Clairvoyants, several items have become quite clear. Annabelle had a lot to say. Annabelle really enjoys writing. And although she hates all things technology, she begrudgingly pounds her head on her desk daily as obstacles are thrown in her path. Almost a hero. Since entering her world of make-believe, she has rebelled against all intrusion of real-world responsibilities. Her house is a mess, but she tries. Her family is fed, but more often than not, on takeout. She vows to shower every day, but no, it’s a vow she’ll never keep. Her friends are neglected, but not in her heart. Read her mordacious blog! Every family has its secrets . . .The Wester women live inside theirs. For decades, the women of Wester House have unsettled and fascinated their small, timeless North Carolina town. Their home is full of whispers, old griefs, and uncanny knowing. But when Willamena Wester reaches out to the granddaughter she once pushed away, long-buried truths begin to stir. 1976: Restless young Willamena falls for a stranded musician who brings freedom and the promise of another life to her carefully controlled world. Present Day: Returning home is the last thing Bailey Wester wants. Yet as she reconnects with Willamena, the grandmother she feared, Bailey begins to understand the love, heartbreak, and impossible choices that shaped the women in her family and realizes the past may not have been trying to haunt them after all. A luminous novel filled with Sarah Addison Allen’s stunning prose and signature blend of romance, Southern charm, and wonder, Paper Ghosts reminds us that in order to have the future we really want, sometimes we need to live with the past, and not let go of it. My thoughts about Paper Ghosts ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"1976 - The morning was bright and clear with a whisper of fog floating around the edges of town, blurring the periphery." I love it when I can escape into one of Sarah Addison Allen's novels. And what better way to escape than into this wonderful ghost story. I loved everything about it and was completely satisfied when I finished Paper Ghosts. What a beautiful story of the past and present coming together to make everything right. I don't know it this is a spoiler or not so I'm not going to say much here, but when I found the reference to 'paper ghosts', I thought it was perfect. I had never thought of it that way. I've read all of Ms. Allen's books and have loved each one more than the last. I highly recommend this one! I received an eARC of Paper Ghosts and this is my honest opinion. *************************** About the author Sarah Addison Allen is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of eight novels. A native of Asheville, North Carolina, Allen is credited with bringing "Southern Magical Realism" to a mainstream audience. Her work, characterized by its romantic, lyrical prose and its exploration of family dynamics through a supernatural lens, has been translated into more than thirty languages and sold millions of copies worldwide. Allen’s debut novel, Garden Spells (2007), became a breakout success and an indie bookseller favorite, spending weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Her subsequent works—The Sugar Queen (2008), The Girl Who Chased the Moon (2010), The Peach Keeper (2011), Lost Lake (2014), First Frost (2015) and Other Birds (2022)—have each been bestsellers, garnering acclaim for their quiet magic and subtle, folkloric elements integrated into contemporary Southern life. The daughter of a journalist father and a mother who was a celebrated cook, Allen grew up in a household where storytelling and food were the primary love languages, elements that now define her fiction. She attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville, graduating with a degree in Literature. At age 39, Allen took a hiatus from publishing following a diagnosis of late-stage breast cancer. Her return to writing was marked by a shift toward more poignant narratives. Allen’s most recent project, Paper Ghosts (2026), continues her tradition of blending mystery with the supernatural. My thoughts about Mother Daughter Sister Stranger ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"I remember the falling. Only the falling." I always know when I start a story by Hank Phillippi Ryan that it is going to be a good one, one that will keep me guessing until the end and make me want more. Mother Daughter Sister Stranger did that for me. I went round and round trying to figure out whodunnit and not getting it right. And this whole story takes place for Eliza and Piper in a matter of only three days. And what a dramatic, suspenseful three days they were.  There is so much going on in this story and I found myself bouncing around, wondering -- is this person a friend or a foe, should they trust this person or not. So much to think about and consider.  Mother Daughter Sister Stranger will take you on an exciting ride, one you will not soon forget. I highly recommend it! On Tour! This Never Happened by Kent Heckenlively ~ Excerpt! #ThisNeverHappened @pumpupyourbook
Can a call girl enter politics and escape with her life and morals intact? This Never Happened: A Call Girl in D.C. by Kent HeckenlivelyPolitical Thriller, RomancePublished June 23, 2026 by Manhattan Book Group Heidi Scherzinger is just a typical working girl in Chicago in 1972. Well, maybe not so typical. In fact, she’s running Chicago’s most successful independent call girl outfit when she’s summoned to meet with Sonny Battaglia, the country’s most powerful Mob boss. The other local call girl agencies are complaining about her success, so Sonny offers her a deal: either she gets whacked, or she relocates to Washington, D.C., where she’ll be working for the “Agency” under the control of the creepy Sidney Gottshalk, the resident blackmail specialist. The Agency wants blackmail material on all the horny Democrats flooding the Capitol in the run-up to the presidential election, trying to defeat President Nicholas Dixon as he runs for a second term. The always efficient Heidi quickly sets up a first-class operation, aided by the quietly competent Milton Greenbaum. What follows is a Florence Gump-style adventure through a 1970s Washington, D.C., that might be just a little different than the version you read about in your history books. This Never Happened: A Call Girl in D.C.is available from Amazon Watch the Book Trailer ********************** Excerpt My Life Now – November 21, 2024 Most of those who’d want to kill me for telling this story are either dead or living in a nursing home. I’m not dead, I’m not in a nursing home, but I am living in a “senior community.” I’m the kind of woman you’ll often see is such a setting, teaching a morning and afternoon Pilates class, then checking out a lecture or play in the evening with her friends. I dress immaculately, my hair and makeup are always perfect, people often wonder if I’m in my mid-fifties or early sixties, (seventy-six, thank you very much) and truth be told, often getting propositioned by the Viagra crowd of men convinced they’ve still got it. The truth is I’ve always loved sex and I’m pretty good at getting men and women to fall in love with me. But I’ve also mastered the art of convincing a person I’m fascinated by them, while at the same time remaining just out of reach. They know I’ll come and play for a few hours, especially if the money and conversation is good. And there’s nobody better than me, man or woman, at listening to what the powerful are really saying while they’re trying to get me into bed, or do the commitment thing (no, thank you). That’s why I was on the payroll of the Agency for such a long time, although, truth be told, most of them are a bunch of psychotic morons. You might call me a prostitute, call girl, hooker, or even a whore if you’re feeling particularly righteous, but I prefer the term courtesan. Everything in life can be done poorly, or with style. For example, President John Francis Fitzgerald did everything with a certain devil-may-care nonchalance, from bedding beautiful actresses to getting himself shot in Texas. By contrast, President Nicholas Milhous Dixon could find the grey cloud on the sunniest of days, and that partially explains how he went from winning the biggest landslide in American history to resigning in disgrace a year and a half later. I say only partially, because there’s the part I played, that nobody’s ever really understood. You see, I’m the woman who’s been whispered about for years, the main player in the story you thought you knew, protected by forces more powerful than you can imagine. But was it really my fault? Maybe after fifty years it’s time to finally tell the story. I’ll let you be the judge of whether I’m a hero or a villain. – Excerpted from This Never Happened by Kent Heckenlively, Manhattan Book Group, 2026. Reprinted with permission. Book Blitz! The Art of Almost Losing It by Alina Jacobs ~ Excerpt & Giveaway! #TheArtOfAlmostLosingIt
The Art of Almost Losing It by Alina Jacobs (The Richmond Brothers, #3) Publication date: August 4th 2026 Genres: Adult, Comedy, Contemporary, Romance There comes a time in every almost-thirty-year-old woman’s life when getting kidnapped off the street is preferable to admitting that the hot, rich boyfriend you’ve been bragging about for months does not, in fact, exist. Yes, it’s terrifying being stuffed in the trunk of a Mercedes, but I would rather be locked in a stranger’s penthouse than sleeping on the floor of my parents’ apartment like the loser daughter I am. Honestly? It’s nice to get some alone time. And my own bathroom. He bribes me with money not to call the police. I scream at him for forcing me to go to brunch as his prisoner at the hottest restaurant in New York. Now everyone in my parents’ aggressively posh Manhattan neighborhood thinks we’re dating. Buckle up, buddy.I have a full wedding itinerary to attend, and congratulations—you’re my fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, my kidnapper is the worst fake boyfriend in the history of fake boyfriends. He’s mean.Aloof.Emotionally unavailable. And deeply offended by how much time I spend on my phone. Meanwhile, I’m trying to ignore how yummy he smells, all muscular and tall as he fumes next to me in bed, furious because I asked him when the sexy portion of the kidnapping is going to happen. It’s a fair question, though, right?!? I thought kidnapping came with benefits! Guess my kidnapper didn’t want me that much after all. Men lying about their desire for a relationship. Story of my life. Now I’m trapped. He’s miserable. And somehow, this is starting to feel dangerously like a relationship. Goodreads | Amazon *********************************** EXCERPT The one time a hot guy shows interest in me… and he’s a violent kidnapper. My screams cut off as he tosses in my laptop case. It lands on my ribs, knocking the breath out of me. He shoves my legs fully into the trunk, then tosses in the barking Lulu, then slams the door. I assume it’s a mistake. The expensive German car. The bespoke suit. The cologne that smells like money and expensive scotch—Men like him don’t grab women like me. So why did he just shove me, in all my pizza-sauce-stained, Costco-clothes glory, into the trunk? I needed a boyfriend, sure, but I did not expect him to arrive via a felony crime. The engine purrs. Wait. Am I really being kidnapped? Like… for real? Sleet rattles against the roof as the realization hits. Oh. Oh no. I’m trapped in the trunk of a stranger’s car. A dangerous man. Being driven God knows where. Sure, he’s attractive—but that is deeply unhelpful information right now. I’ll never see my family again. Never eat a dollar slice of pizza again— Wait. I squint. Window. This isn’t a sedan. This is an SUV. I’m not trapped. I haul myself up and pop my head over the back seat. “You’re a crappy kidnapper!” I scream. “Shit!” he yells—and nearly plows into a parked truck. “You—!” The car jerks to a stop at a stop sign. He throws it into park and starts climbing over the seats toward me. “You can’t kidnap me,” I say, panic creeping in. “You don’t want me. I’m not a girl anyone kidnaps.” My dog barks. Emerald-green eyes catch the light. “Sit down,” he commands. “My mom is going to be really upset if I don’t come home tonight,” I blurt. “Let me go.” The doors lock. I fumble in my purse. Find my pepper spray. “Yes!” I whisper. “I’m a strong, independent —” I spray… myself. “Water,” I gasp, coughing, wheezing, blind. I suck in a lungful of peppery air and yank at the door handle, begging it to open. Too late. “Stupid fucking girl,” he snarls, grabbing my jacket and dragging me forward. “You didn’t even handcuff me!” I wheeze. He pauses. “You really don’t know when to shut up, do you?” He loosens his tie. I gulp. “I cannot believe,” he sneers, “that I kidnapped the most unattractive woman in Manhattan.” Oh. So… not the future love of my life after all. ************************ About the author I write the kind of books I love—romantic comedies featuring snarly guys with hearts of gold, kick-ass heroines, and a swoon-worthy happily ever after! New Release! The Women in White by Sarah Pekkanen ~ My Thoughts #TheWomenInWhite
Congratulation Sarahon the recent release ofThe Women in White! The Women in White by Sarah PekkanenMystery Thriller, Historical Fiction, 320 pagesPublished August 4, 2026 by St. Martin's Press The newest next thriller from #1 Bestselling Author Sarah Pekkanen combines a decades-old mystery with spine-tingling paranormal elements in this twisty novel of the seen and unseen. Extrasensory perception. The Gift.A Sixth Sense.Or something else…. In 1964, four remarkable young women at a prestigious university became the subjects of parapsychology experiments by a visionary scientist. On the cusp of a historic breakthrough, the women mysteriously vanished and the program was erased from history.  Decades later, Riley Bell, newly divorced and desperate for a fresh start, accepts a caretaker job for an elderly widow named Betty. Riley steps into a home that is frozen in another era - no microwave, television, or cell phones, and Betty has never heard of the internet. Why has Betty lived in such profound isolation for so many years, and why does she need Riley now?  As the story unfolds across two timelines - Betty’s 1960s era of 5 o’clock martinis and high-stakes experiments, and Riley’s quest to uncover the truth about the missing women - old secrets rise to the surface. And the only way to survive is to confront the mystery that has lingered for sixty years. My thoughts about The Women in White ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"Riley, Present Day. Just before I knock on the door of the small brick house, I'm gripped by the skin-tingling sense I'm being watched." I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book. Sarah Pekkanen is a must-read author for me so I knew I'd be in for an exciting ride when I read this one. And it did not disappoint. The Women in White takes place in dual timelines, the present and the mid-sixties. Riley answers an ad for a live-in position, assisting an elderly woman. What she didn't expect was a journey to help Betty find her friends from the past, when they were all the 'women in white'.  Betty and three other women were part of parapsychology experiments performed in the 1960's. These women formed a deep bond with each other, until they disappeared from each other's lives. Riley embarks on a quest to reunite these women. Through the flashbacks, the reader relives the lives of these women and what they endured. One thing that struck me the most was that experiments of these type actually did take place during that time. It was a bit shocking to me to know what these women and others went through, all in the name of science. I loved The Women in White and I highly recommend it! I received an eARC of The Women in White and this is my honest opinion. *************************** About the author I'm a #1 New York Times bestselling author of 15 solo and coauthored books, including HOUSE OF GLASS, which is a Goodreads Choice award nominee and Amazon best book of the year. My upcoming thriller, THE LOCKED WARD, is being hailed by Lee Child as "psychological suspense at its very best." I'm also the coauthor of four bestselling thrillers: THE GOLDEN COUPLE, THE WIFE BETWEEN US, AN ANONYMOUS GIRL, and YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I've also written eight novels that are contemporary fiction, not thrillers: THE EVER AFTER, THE PERFECT NEIGHBORS, THINGS YOU WON'T SAY, CATCHING AIR, THE BEST OF US, THE OPPOSITE OF ME, SKIPPING A BEAT, and THESE GIRLS. Release Day! Everything We Found by Kerry Lonsdale ~ My Thoughts #EverythingWeFound
Happy Release Day! Congrats Kerryon the release today ofEverything We Found! Everything We Found by Kerry Lonsdale(Everything #4)Women's Fiction, 364 pagesPublished August 3, 2026 by Bookouture From multi-million copy bestselling author Kerry Lonsdale comes a heart-pounding and suspenseful romance full of longing, heat and a second chance at love against the odds… On the outside, Nadia Jacobs is a cool, confident architect at the top of her game. But for the past decade, she’s been quietly building walls to keep the people she loves most at arm’s length. All because of him. Thomas Donato sacrificed everything when he forced Nadia to keep a dangerous secret from everyone they knew. He did it to protect his family. But it cost him the woman he’s secretly loved since they were kids. Now he wants back into Nadia’s life. Nadia’s heart does a familiar skip-and-stumble when met with his hesitant smile, but she sees through his Thomas is achingly alone. And letting him in risks losing everyone and everything she holds dear. When his past abruptly crashes into their present, they are both suddenly on the run. Not only are they forced to confront the price of a secret they’ve kept for a decade, but a truth even more their feelings for each other. With time running out and nowhere to hide, will their love heal what darkness broke in them all those years ago, or will it shatter them forever? My thoughts about Everything We Found ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"The night before the funeral, as he gazed into the belly of  a casket weighed down with sandbags in place of his younger brother's body, Thomas Donato accepted his fate. He was the villain of this story." I am absolutely in love with this series—the Everything series by Kerry Lonsdale. But I have to say that Everything We Found might be my favorite of all of these stories. This one just hits different. It was a rollercoaster of a ride with an edge-of-my-seat vibe that the other ones did not have. I loved it!!  The truth about Nadia and Thomas' lives—and lies—is finally revealed and boy, did I have it all wrong. Nothing about their past was at all what it seemed to be, hence the rollercoaster ride. And I couldn't read fast enough to get to the exciting conclusion! So intense!! This was the perfect ending to this amazing series. I highly recommend each and every story!  I received a copy of Everything We Found from the author and this is my honest opinion. Read my thoughts about Everything We Keep, Everything We Left Behind, and Everything We Give. *************************** About the author Kerry Lonsdale is the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Amazon Charts & #1 Kindle bestselling author of standalone and series-based emotionally charged domestic drama with over twenty-seven foreign language translations. Release Day! A Crimson Rose by Grace Greene ~ My Thoughts #ACrimsonRose
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Graceon the release today ofA Crimson Rose! A Crimson Rose by Grace Greene(Crimson Grove #3)Multigenerational Fiction, 132 pages Published July 16, 2026 by Kersey Creek Books A Crimson Rose is the third story in the heartwarming women's fiction series, Crimson Grove, about family, second chances, and the unexpected ways in which love can reshape lives. Amelia Hennipen lives in the small town of Crimson Grove, Virginia, where she has devoted herself to caring for Aunt Henny, the elderly grandmother of her late husband, Simon. Years earlier, Simon abruptly left their marriage, and shortly afterward he died, leaving Amelia with unanswered questions and a life centered on responsibility rather than personal happiness. Everything changes when eleven-year-old Sybil Rose arrives unexpectedly at Hennipen House. But is the change for the worse or the better? Amelia’s life is already full of responsibilities. Aunt Henny’s Alzheimer’s won’t get better. The house and property need serious attention. And now there’s a girl who’s grieving and who doesn’t want to be at Hennipen House. And what about Nathan Shaw? Is there room in Amelia’s life for him and their growing feelings for each other? A Crimson Rose is a story about discovering that love often arrives in unexpected forms and at unexpected times, and endures in the most unlikely circumstances. My thoughts about A Crimson Rose ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"There have been many nevers in my life." A Crimson Rose took me on another trip back to the interesting world of  Amelia, Henny, Sybil, and the rest of the gang. I love all of these wonderful characters and enjoy all of the interactions and support they have for one another.  I have enjoyed all of Grace Greene's stories and this series is right up there at the top. I love everything about it and am always excited when I get to take a trip back to see the crew. You can just feel the love and compassion that comes from each one of them.  Check out the Crimson Grove series if you want a pleasurable experience that will fill your heart with love and hope. I love all of the stories and highly recommend this series! I received an ARC of A Crimson Rose and this is my honest opinion of the book.  ************************ A Crimson Heart was released this past November for a holiday visit at Hennipen House with Amelia and Henny. It was a time of stress for them, yes, but also a time of unexpected blessings. But when the holidays ended, Amelia and Henny said there was more to their story, and I agreed, so Crimson Grove became a series.  A Crimson Promise, the 2nd novella in the series, is another story of the perils of heartbreak, unexpected blessings, and of love reshaping our lives and the joy of recreating family.  The hardest promise to keep is the one you never in-a-million-years dreamed you’d have to make. A Crimson Rose will release on July 16th. Preorder here. House of Teeth by Anne Shaw Heinrich ~ My Thoughts #HouseOfTeeth
House of Teeth by Anne Shaw Heinrich(The Women of Paradise County #3)Family Life Fiction, 344 pagesPublished June 16, 2026 by Speaking Volumes LLC Jules Marks and his five little sisters can finally relax. Their feckless parents from Shakey's Half are doing time in the Paradise County Jail, and their Uncle Larry, Aunt Sally and Aunt Clarice have swooped in to give them the safety and security they deserved all along.  As they settle into the closest thing to normal they've ever known, their neighbors and classmates are quick to remind them not to get too comfortable. Poulson's only dentist makes a generous offer to help the children fix their long-neglected teeth, but many folks object to the free treatment they receive.  Meanwhile, Jules is figuring out how to be a man as he holds onto an ugly secret involving his dear friend, Violet Sellers. When cancer strikes the family, Jules decides to right a wrong that's gone unchallenged for far too long. **************************** My thoughts about House of Teeth ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"I never did have a love like Aunt Helly and Uncle Teddy. They held something special between them." House of Teeth took me back to all the quirky, crazy characters I met in the first two books of this series. It was great to meet up with them all again and see what they were up to. And the introduction of new characters just made the story all that more interesting.  I loved the first two books and everyone I met in them. And who knew that there were even more people in this community that I would come to love? A lot of this book centers on Jules Marks and his siblings. Boy, they really have been through it. Things do start looking up for them, but their lives are not completely without strife and drama. I was totally invested in their story and enjoyed watching their growth.  This is such a wonderful series, with very memorable characters and storylines. I highly recommend all three books! I received an ARC of House of Teeth and this is my honest opinion of the book.  ***************************** Read my thoughts about God Bless the Child.Read my thoughts about Violet is Blue. ********************************* About the author Anne Shaw Heinrich has written features and marketing copy for newspapers, the health and nutrition industries, higher education and not-for-profit organizations. Release Day! Working Class Hero by Kay Bratt ~ My Thoughts #WorkingClassHero
Happy Release Day! Congrats Kayon the release today ofWorking Class Hero! Working Class Hero by Kay Bratt(Hart's Ridge #16)Saga Fiction, 328 pagesPublished July 8, 2026 by Red Thread Publishing Group Because in Hart’s Ridge, justice is personal.  In Hart’s Ridge, people look after their own. So when a late-night emergency shakes the town, everyone is quick to rally around the firefighters who risk everything to protect it, especially Fire Chief Alex Mercer, a man known for showing up when things fall apart. Taylor Gray has learned that stories formed too quickly rarely hold the whole truth. Small details begin to surface. Quiet fears. Secrets kept behind closed doors. A woman who may have been trying to change the course of her life. As Taylor pulls at loose threads, she finds herself standing against a tide of loyalty and silence that runs deeper than she expected. Because some fires burn long after the flames are gone. And sometimes uncovering the truth means questioning the people everyone else trusts. My thoughts about Working Class Hero ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First lines—"The laundry had been folded twice already." Working Class Hero is another page turning, thrilling read by Kay Bratt! I don't know how she does it. A devastating house fire destroys so much. Taylor investigates, trying to determine if it was a horrible accident or if there was something more sinister and intentional going on. As she works the case and tires to prove her suspicions, she also has to look at the facts. The solving of this case took me to a place I did not see coming. I love when that happens! One of the things I love about this series, along with each interesting case that needs to be solved, is the family dynamics that are covered in each story. The Gray family and their friends are a complicated bunch and each story gives us more of a glimpse into their lives. I've come to think of this group as my friends. I am fully invested in the lives of Taylor and her family members. The Hart's Ridge series is an amazing set of stories, with memorable characters and interesting plotlines. I highly recommend Working Class Hero, as well as this whole series—it just keeps getting better and better.  And the author just keeps writing this series. Yay for us!! Book #17, It's Only Love, is expected to be released on September 29, 2026! As a noted coastal architect, Jason Barlow designs homes that evoke the sea. Gabled, shingle-style New England cottages are his forte. Cottages that beautifully weather in the salt air. Cottages with grand porches; and rounded turrets; and fortress-like stonework speaking of the land, as well as his father’s legacy. Cottages with floor-to-ceiling windows bringing in the sea, the sky, that his brother so loved. But it’s not only incredible homes Jason builds and restores—it’s relationships and friendships and histories, all set against the backdrop of a beach that’s defined him. After his very life is threatened, however, Jason Barlow shares a simple request with those to whom he’s closest. A request that has an old friend turn to The Architect now more than ever. And The Seaside Saga continues. The Seaside Saga on Goodreads The Seaside Saga on Amazon *************************** My thoughts about The Architect ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.) First line—"The diner goes quiet. Shane's words straight up stop them cold." The Architect is another wonderful visit to the community of Stony Point. I love reconnecting with all of the people of the area, who have essentially become my friends. I love the camaraderie and drama that ensues among all of the members of this quaint little town. I'm always excited to get the newest story in the Seaside Saga and quickly devour it, anxious for the next installment. I highly recommend this series and this author.  Book #28, The Novelist, is due out on September 2, 2026. ******************* If you're new to The Seaside Saga, the reading order is below. Release Day! The Museum of Lost Dreams by Christine Nolfi ~ My Thoughts #TheMuseumOfLostDreams
Happy Release Day! Congrats Christineon the release today ofThe Museum of Lost Dreams! The Museum of Lost Dreams by Christine NolfiFiction, Family, 315 pagesPublished June 23, 2026 by Lake Union Publishing Returning to her fractured past, a woman is determined to end a cycle of heartbreaks in a moving novel about family, sacrifice, and redemption by the bestselling author of The Secret Library of Hanna Reeves. When Bess Rollins’s parents die in a tragic accident, she is forced to abandon her dream job overseas. After three years away, she returns to her family’s estate in the Finger Lakes, a veritable monument to her brilliant late grandmother, and a reminder of the wreckage Bess left behind. There’s the guilt over leaving her younger twin siblings, Casey and Caleb, and she struggles to rebuild a bond that may be irrevocably broken. Amid the grief, resentment still looms toward her reckless and self-indulgent mother and father. And then there’s Luke Monticelli, the devoted man Bess walked out on but never stopped loving. Haunted by her regrets at every turn, Bess soon realizes that the past is far more complicated than she ever knew. With each secret that she uncovers about her family, Bess comes closer to healing their wounds, seizing a second chance at love, and fulfilling dreams that can lift them all—right here at home, where she belongs.    My thoughts about The Museum of Lost Dreams ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First line—"October 1962. The museum was a place of dreams. Twice now he'd uttered the strange remark." The Museum of Lost Dreams is another wonderful story from Christine Nolfi. I've loved everything I've read by her and this one goes to the top. A generational story filled with family drama was exactly what I needed when I started this one.  Bess returns home after her parents sudden deaths where she is slammed back into the family dynamics that she tried to leave behind three year ago. So much has changed, while also staying the same. As each family member tries to fit into their changed roles as siblings, redemption and forgiveness are a must.  The dual timeline, which I loved, helped fill in the gaps in the family history and explained a lot. Seeing things from different perspectives clarified so, so much. And not everyone should be up on the pedestal where they have been placed.  I loved everything about The Museum of Lost Dreams and highly recommend it! I received a copy of The Museum of Lost Dreams from the author and this is my honest opinion of the book. About the author Christine Nolfi is the award-winning and bestselling author of eighteen novels. Look for her 2026 release, The Museum of Lost Dreams. Other works include her 2025 bestseller, The Secret Library of Hanna Reeves (sequel coming in 2027); the reader favorite A Heart Like Home; A Brighter Flame, selected by She Reads as a best book club pick and The Passing Storm, cited by Publishers Weekly as “Tautly plotted, expertly characterized, and genuinely riveting” and gold medal winner in general fiction, International Book Awards. Earlier works include The Road She Left Behind, a top book club pick by Working Mother and Parade magazines; the award-winning Sweet Lake Series; Second Chance Grill, highly recommended by The Midwest Book Review and Treasure Me, recognized by the Next Generation Indie Awards. The Tree of Everlasting Knowledge was cited by The Midwest Book Review as “Poignant and powerful, as much a saga of learning to survive, heal, and forgive as it is a chilling crime story, unforgettable to the very end.” A native of Ohio, Christine now resides in South Carolina with her husband. Release Day! Dark Current Reckoning by Ashley Farley ~ My Thoughts #DarkCurrentReckoning
Happy Release Day! Congratulations Ashleyon the release today ofDark Current Reckoning! Dark Current Reckoning by Ashley Farley(Sutherlin Files Series #3)Women's Crime Stories, 263 pagesPublished June 16, 2026 by AHF Publishing Lane Sutherlin has dragged Tidewell’s darkest secrets into the light—except the one still poisoning its future. A powerful faction of the Old Guard, including Lane’s own stepfather, is quietly orchestrating a land grab that will wipe out Tidewell’s most historic neighborhood and replace it with a waterfront casino. But before Lane can stop them, a far more personal truth resurfaces. New evidence emerges about the boat accident that killed her brother nineteen years ago, forcing Lane to confront the lies that shaped her life and the man who buried them. Sheriff Boone didn’t just fail her—he hid the truth to protect one of Tidewell’s most privileged sons. And the boy who “rescued” her that night wasn’t a savior at all. As Lane digs deeper, the Old Guard closes ranks, desperate to silence her before she exposes their final, most dangerous secret. And complicating everything is Briggs—the town’s embattled commonwealth’s attorney—whose feelings for Lane are getting harder to deny, even as the pressure threatens to break them apart. With enemies closing in, a community on the brink, and the past demanding justice, Lane must decide what she’s willing to risk to finish what she started. Tidewell is running out of time. And this time, the reckoning is hers. My thoughts about Dark Current Reckoning ~~ (I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.) First lines—"Cold bites through my gloves as I lift the binoculars to my face." I just read another great installment in this exciting series by Ashley Farley. Once again I got to travel into the world of the formidable Lane Sutherlin and the evil that is lurking in Tidwell. As Lane battles the Old Guard of her community, she is also try to discover the truth surrounding the death of her brother years ago. Who and what was involved in the coverup? At this point, Lane isn't sure who she can trust and who is working against her. But this task is a lot for just one person to take on. Who can she let into her inner world? I love this series as the drama and excitement kept me turning the pages. Any book by Ashley is a page turner but when she added the dark side of Tidwell and the tenacity of Lane to her formula, she definitely upped her game.  And just when I got to the end of this story and desperately wanted more, I found out that there is going to be a book four in this amazing series! Yay for us! I highly recommend this series, where you'll get it all—Ashley's wonderful storytelling, amazing characters, plenty of drama, and the feeling that the bad guys can not win. Dark Current Reckoning was an exciting read and did not disappoint! I suggest that you get started on this series right away. I received an eARC of Dark Current Reckoning and this is my honest opinion. Dark Current Rising  - Read my thoughts hereDark Current - Read my thoughts hereDark Current Reckoning - Out now!
