Thanks to @scotfire_glasgo for extremely helpful briefings today about what it’s taking to fight a particularly complex fire. When their work is complete, responsibility for the site will pass to @GlasgowCC & I’ve been meeting our teams throughout the day to plan next steps

Thankful there are no casualties but it’s very upsetting to see the damage the major fire has caused to the heart of Glasgow city centre. The priorities of all those working at and behind the scene are keeping everyone safe and supporting those immediately affected

Christina McKelvie lit up every room she walked into. She was a warrior with a heart the size of Scotland and the best boss I ever had. Sharing her friendship was one of the great privileges of my life ❤️

As the voices of climate denial get louder, I’ll always take climate action seriously - and do it in a way that creates new jobs, lowers our bills and unlocks huge economic opportunities for Scotland. Here’s a wee summary of my speech at Glasgow Botanics today 👇 youtube.com/shorts/qqK9b...

The last time we had to close our schools because of extreme weather was during the Beast from the East in 2018. It’s a rare event and that shows how seriously we’re taking this warning. Please take it seriously too, avoid travel and stay safe

Eradicating child poverty is an investment in our people, not a cost to be borne. SNP policies like the Scottish Child Payment are already keeping an estimated 100,000 children out of poverty. Our Budget will do more by acting to lift the two-child limit. youtube.com/shorts/DjNN9...

🏡 Communities don’t yet see the benefits climate investment can deliver for them such as improved public transport, sustainable food provision or public realm improvements. It is up to Governments around the world - including the UK - to empower change our cities need.

Very moving to see Glasgow’s Syrian population celebrating the fall of Assad, whose brutality forced them from their homes & made them refugees. They’ve waited a long time for this day & for a moment of hope for the future of their homeland, even if it’s still early days
