This paper suggests that over half of scientific papers in 2025 show signs of AI use. This does not surprise me, because submitting papers is a PITA and cleaning up logic and prose is something LLMs can do quite well. The pace of AI normalisation in science is spectacular. doi.org/10.1073/pnas...

Meeting Open Science requirements can be a pain, and not every researcher wants to expose their data to post-publication scrutiny, creating incentives to cheat. Which is why 11.5% of Dryad DOIs fail to resolve. www.octopus.ac/publications...
