The far right has taken over podcasting using the same model that helped them dominate talk radio in 1990s. They have their own media ecosystem that gets around pesky barriers like institutional authority, expertise, and civic norms and conventions.

A Trump fragrance ad, sandwiched between ads for getting out of a time share scam (which is also, likely, a scam) and ED meds, during a football game, is peak late capitalism at its finest. What a time to be alive.

Reading about how the counterculture, the military-industrial complex, and free market entrepreneurialism converged to give us Silicon Valley's far-right politics and it gives me a new appreciation of what the Dead Kennedys were warning about in California Über Alles

When Musk joined the campaign, he announced that he was "dark MAGA." He was not being cheeky or ironic; instead he was referencing a subculture of neo-Nazis/neo-monarchists who employ retro-fascist and occult imagery of death (reminiscent of Freidkorps art). This is who has the ear of the President.
