I tend to agree with you. We are figuring out as a nation that once again....character matters. Ethics and morals matter in our leaders. And now they could not see that Trump was lacking in these traits after the decades of unethical and immoral behavior is beyond me.

Winning elections matters. Achieving durable power matters. The far left can only win when Trump is in power. They fail miserably when Trump is not in power. The grand socialism experiment in NYC and Seattle will end badly, again. Socialism is not the answer.

lol. I live in Seattle but on way to Miami for Miami Music Week and Ultra. Love Miami but Seattle is wonderful. People live in more harmony in Seattle. Blacks, whites, Asians etc. isn’t perfect but it’s far better than many places.

Our libraries are NOT for homeless to have mental breakdowns and engage in violence. It's time we return our society to law abiding citizens and stop treating homeless people like an endangered species. Most, not all, are addicts and criminals, and you don't fix any of this by coddling them.

I am native Seattleite and work with many young 20s and 30s from other parts of country. Not a one wants to return to Texas, Cali, Florida, NY etc.. Yes it’s expensive. But you are paying for an international city with natural beauty and a lifestyle and you make sacrifices, is how they see it.

Yeah—sure I am. And honestly, I’d argue many, no most, of the homeless aren’t interested in turning things around. I’m all for helping anyone who wants help. But it’s hard to buy that story when you’re stealing from homes, trashing the area, and threatening people. It’s not how one asks for help.

Most people in these encampments are addicts and thieves who trash parks and sidewalks. We tried the softer approach for years, and it only made things worse. It’s time to get tough, enforce the rules, set clear expectations, and move people into designated tent-style dorms where they can get help.

I already defined what I meant. I’m not going to assign a racial profile to it—that’s not something I do, and it’s not accurate anyway because it involves people from all demographics. If anything, based on what I personally see, it’s more often white men, but that’s purely anecdotal.

The ones I see most often are people dealing with addiction who park run-down vehicles along the road and treat the sidewalk and nearby area like a dumping ground. They sometimes threaten others, and when help is offered, they refuse it because it comes with rules.

I live in Seattle. I’m a left of center democrat. Katie Wilson and the new city attorney will now undo much of the progress made on homelessness and crime. Once again, we will treat the homeless like an endangered species and look the other way on non violent crime. It’s maddening.
