What happens when support focuses on symptoms, not systems? While informal carers often get counseling, our systematic review found that interventions for elderly care workers are often limited to relaxation techniques. Breathing exercises don't fix shift stability or workload.

Key findings: organisational and managerial interventions are scarce. For workers, only a few approaches helped (mindfulness, breathing, ACT). For informal caregivers, support or counselling and skills training showed more consistent gains.
