My ketchup and mustard rose started blooming and is as vibrant as ever.

Gardening — One of my more unique roses called “Ketchup and Mustard” because of its bright red petals with yellow underneath (obviously LOL). I picked this one up last summer.

Thought I accidentally krilled my sour dough starter I had going since December from not feeding it the past few days. Miss Sarah Doe wasn’t looking too fresh, but I’m glad she bounced back after a little maintenance. Here’s some sour doughs I made with that starter. 🍞

Baking — This one was one of my first attempts at sour dough. I was trying to be fancy with the scoring.

Baking — This sour dough features cheese and chives. It turned out to be really tasty!

Baking — This sour dough was one of my fluffier ones. The crumb on this one was really good.

New rose bush for the summer! This fella spreads and has the smelliest, spiciest and most perfumeiest of sniffs. Extremely good sniffs/10

Gardening — A photo of my new ground cover/drift rose. These rose bushes spread 3-5 feet from where you plant them and produce tons of super fragrant blooms.

Gardening — I started collecting roses around 2021, I think this might be my sixth rose.

Tried my hand at making a tomato bisque for supper. I saw one YouTube short yappin about a grilled cheese bisque combo. …It did its part in influencing me. Leg thump/10 🔥🔥🔥

Cooking — Tomato bisque with a grilled cheese on the side. The grilled cheese had a couple different cheeses on a brioche style bread, but the star of the show was definitely the soup. It was so creamy and good. It’s got carrots, onions, celery, and the correct amount of garlic sautéd in butter, spices, quite a bit of heavy cream, more garlic, chicken broth along with the tomatoes topped with another swirl of cream. Umami overload!

There’s something about this jam cookie. Like how do I top this. Taste, texture and presentation were all a 10 👁️👄👁️👌

Baking — A batch of experimental cream cheese swirl jam cookies I made with dollops of homemade wild berry jam and a brown sugar cream cheese mixture very lightly incorporated to preserve the texture and give it a nice appearance. It was kind of ambitious but the outcome was a huge hit with everyone I shared them with. Very tasty!

Baking — Before they went in the oven, I did my best to get a good smear of cream cheese and jam in every scoop both on top and in the middle.

Baking — I miss them already. Wistful sigh.

Sketchpage — A page of sketches and drawings of my new sona I haven't formally introduced. He's based off of a Panda Shepherd! Here's a bit of trivia: A Panda Shepherd is a purebred German Shepherd with a rare genetic mutation causing a piebald coat, which is approximately 35% white and the rest black and tan.

I felt such a strong connection with the concept because pandas and dogs are such a big part of me — pandas especially, because you know. That's where it started. 🐼 I hope ya'll like himb 🧡

Okay so! Flop or not, I’ll share what the results are. I think this cake is having an identity crisis, besides the crumb being kinda eggy I liked it! The lemon cream cheese frosting completely erased any semblance of hibiscus and there was quite a bit too, but the flavours were competing.
