Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 25/09/2026No livestream to verify these, but don't think this is about the bowling attacks. It's similar to that 412 vs 369 senior match. These are extremely batting friendly conditions in North India. Bet it New Chandigarh, Mohali, or Delhi. But as a whole Indians are very good at 50-over batting. 010

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Even if you are not playing Tests, playing red ball or long form cricket will help you make better allround cricketers. India's struggle is in T20s because WPL is still in infancy and coaches at lower levels still admonish young players for getting out. England have an opposite problem to this. 020
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026[All numbers from cricketarchive] England squad had more Test match experience, but India had more FC experience. Uncapped Priya Punia has played 17 FC matches (0 Tests), while Heather Knight retired with 15 FC matches (all of them Tests) 021
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Not that anyone reads these things, just realised this can be misconstrued. The point was even if ENG had a red ball comp for practice for this Test, it wouldn't have yielded immediate dividends. But at the same time, the long term gains you can achieve by playing the red ball game are immense. 110

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Yastika turned up and scored. Even if they had Rawal/Punia/Deol at one drop, they wouldn't have looked out of place either. Young Anushka has better technique than a lot of ENG batters you see. Red ball training could help someone like say a Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones to become a better cricketer. 120
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Combination of the way Indians are coached at the lower levels+some red ball experience makes them better at basics. This might help in other formats as well. Not everything has to lead to wins. Here the outcome is ENG will get better cricketers if they have red ball experience at lower levels. 130

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Except for Satghare, this IND XI didn't play in this edition of domestic red ball iirc. ENG can't suddenly become better at Tests even with a competition. However, even if you don't play Tests, playing red ball cricket is helpful for the development of their game. Better basics, better discipline. 110

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 28/06/2026India just didn't have bowling right from the outset to challenge strong batting sides. Backing themselves to chase whatever they concede regardless of the conditions was the only way to win. 020

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 25/06/2026By rough calculation, South Africa need to beat Bangladesh by around 120+- runs margin to get ahead in the NRR if India were to beat Australia by one run. #T20WorldCup 010

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Considering India would have taken the same time to chase this down if they conceded only 120, they are lucky that they had 137 to chase. Must be still ahead of South Africa by 200+ runs in the NRR. #T20WorldCup 000

Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 24/06/2026In IPL, the broadcasters have been pushing for a 7pm slot to maximize prime time, ad revenue. But the teams' contention is that it affects the stadium going people. Hence, the middle ground of 7.30pm was found. So this 8pm is baffling, unless the only thing they want to sell is the closing ceremony. 010
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 23/06/2026I am questioning the stupidity of it since it's inconvenient for everyone. Who knows what metric they care about? There's no attempt to put India in the easier group to maximize their stay in the tournament. Maybe only ad money from IND v PAK matters or a guaranteed IND v AUS fixture? 120
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 23/06/2026I get they have the 2.30pm uk matches (or the ist equivalent of 7.00pm depending on timezones) for India to pander to the broadcasters. But if 8pm IST is too late for an ipl game to start, it's even more late for a women's game. This feels like a random unnecessary adhoc change. 110
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Don't understand this. Isn't 2.30pm (7.00 pm ist) the sweet spot for the Indians? One hour late runs the risk of viewers dropping out at the backend (especially families and kids). Doubt they even care about the women's game this way or else India games would have been at 3.30pm from the outset. 110
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 22/06/2026SA were clever to learn from the India series, India had a few good middle overs there and SA used the best bowlers to limit the damage despite India's fast start. Whereas SA found batting in the middle overs very easy despite the horror powerplay they had. 000
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 22/06/2026India will continue to struggle in T20Is until they find a bowling attack that won't leave their batters in constant dread. Even on successful days, India constantly resort to high risk shots to maximize the batting in hope of putting up a score that's beyond their bowling. 100
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Then it was about taking the RRR beyond the reach so that pacers will have a lot of runs to play with in the last 2-3 overs. But South Africa scored freely in the middle overs even with a struggling Tazmin Brits. 100
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 22/06/2026Arundhati/Nandni play similar roles for most sides they are in. How did they end up with only those two as your pacers? Those two fifers meant they started trusting Deepti again to bowl the crucial overs. Shafali & Sree Charani gave them a lifeline with the powerplay overs. 100
Shajin MS @supertrampms.bsky.social · 22/06/2026For India's bowling to work, they need to get everything spot on. With SA's struggles, the loss of Shreyanka was a body blow. Their choice of bowlers seem outcome based. Expected them not to pick RST after umpiring denied her two wickets & bowling the 20th in the warm-up. 120
