Tesco has just put out their goth christmas stuff out in our local gaff. The weekly shop just now was a bit expensive.

If you are new to 2000AD and don't know where to start. You probably get recommended a bunch of classic 80s/90s strips all the time. Here are some more from the last 20 years for your consideration. It's a cracking list.

After drooling over a Wacom MovinkPad Pro for a considerable time, I have saved enough to buy one. It used to be tradition to draw a cock on a new graphics tablet (old b3tans will know) so this is my attempt. (First impressions of the tablet are v good)

A splendid gold and green cockerel against a green background. He looks very proud of himself.

I fixed the toilet seat with new fittings. I feel like a DIY God! (also I really love my girlie pink electric screwdriver) I need time to recover, my back aches from looming.

For a while it was saying that bit where all the Nordics settled which made sense as I am from the Danelaw. Then it settled on Connecticut/Mass which is most of the places named after Lincolnshire and Yorkshire are. mydialect.us/quiz-full.html Quite interesting that some of the dialect persists...

Post a 90s photo of yourself without comment or context.

Half goth half raver. Young girl at the foot of Glastonbury Tor. dressed in black jeans, blue and orange top. Beloved velvet docs that were slightly distressed by this time but I hadn't painted daisies on the bald bits yet. Ankh necklace and tiny little clay necklace of a neolithic goddess figure. Wavy black hair right down to my back. Gods I wish I still looked like this!!

Just been up Steep Hill to watch the Steampunkers parade. Easily over a thousand of them. Glorious eccentricity everywhere. #LincolnSteampunkFestival My brain fed well. Rubbish doodle to follow.

Crap doodle of some of the outfits I saw around and about plus some words I jotted down because I didn't draw for long, the crowds were a bit much. Hats, feathers, crinolines, corsets if course, tricornes, bicornes, pith helmets, dinosaurs, LEDs, pirates, dragons, tea, brocade velvet, plastic, foil, demons, angels, fairies, all the colours of the rainbow.

@brandtandstein.com BOOK!!!!!! (I am uncommonly excited. Postman was amused.) #WorstManOGN

Shiny new deceptively heavy book with cute boys on cover. One ginger man is cheerfully swigging from a champagne glass whilst sitting on the lap of a disgruntled beefcake in the RUINS of a wedding cake.

Wensleydale. I will accept nothing else with my Lincolnshire Plum Loaf. Which reminds me it has been 3 weeks since my last LPL. I must rectify this error.

Apparently I've done ten artfight attacks this month. I only planned to do four! Anyway here's another. JJ belongs to torcereal who doesn't appear to be on bsky. Anyway. This is my action movie poster one. #artfight #artfight2026 artfight.net/~torcereal

Scruffy brown haired engineer rubs his hands through his hair as he witnesses something blowing up. One of his arms is bionic. Two spacecraft hurriedly leave behind him. I can't draw spaceships but I keep trying. Lots of fire.

Favourite drawing of the day. Someone is trying to start a fight in a pub. #wip

One of my Elizabethan characters insults another guy. Reddish brown pencils of an intense looking young man with an excellent moustache. He calls another chap a rutting pig, which does not go down well at all.

Staticgirl @superstaticgirl.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

I have now lost count of all the artfight attacks I've done. This character is called Felrelle and is the creation and IP of spriggytito! artfight.net/~spriggytito

A confident young woman reloads her gun in front of a vaguely cyberpunky city background where I went a bit mad with Clip Studio Paint brushes. She has intricately braided and twisted hair, brown skin with vitiligo patches and a cute combat patterned halter top. She means business.

Artfight attack #6 for artfight.net/~Gooshers I've done friendly fire again, I never check first. Anyway this was supposed to be a quick sketch but went off on a tangent... #artfight #artfight2026

A wistful prince stares out of a barred castle window at the exciting world outside. He isn't allowed to go off and have adventures. He is wearing green and gold outfit that is hard to describe. There are flowing fabrics and very tight fabrics and gold accents. I don't think he'd last five minutes Outside, personally.... Not without help.

010

Staticgirl @superstaticgirl.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

I think I'm on attack #5 now. This is a picture of Ash who was created by @artbyalp.bsky.social who IS on bluesky, hurrah! I'm on my old laptop at my mum's house so I have no idea if the colours look all right, it never did have the nicest colour profile.... #artfight #artfight2026

Moody picture of a demon in a leather jacket having a smoke at night. This is the second character I've drawn having a tab. I've never smoked but it makes good lighting effects.

030

Staticgirl @superstaticgirl.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

Charlotte the android for _Kirbylicious_ who does not appear to be on bluesky yet. Go and draw their characters! artfight.net/~_Kirbylicio... Yeah I went a bit Bladerunner on this one.

This was my thinking - Android->Bladerunner->1940s Film Noir->Classic Hollywood photos. That's why there's loads of airbrush which I don't usually go near. So this is a monochrome portrait shot of a young beautiful woman in a stylish hat with a peacock feather.

#Artfight attack no3 for Zehn124 who I do not believe is on bsky... Used a new pencil brush.

British/Spanish girl with hooped earrings and tattoos stares directly at the camera. She is wearing a shirt which is opened so you can see a vest top underneath. Black and yellow background.

Attack no 2 on #artfight for @exitrealitystudios.com You really appreciate the character design details when you're forced to look at them this closely. #artfight2026 #Tass #Vale

Handsome elf man takes a beautiful woman in his arms and dances the tango which is the sexiest dance no arguments. Tango dancers please do not kill me the pose is based on the entire first two pages you get when you put in 'Argentine tango' into image search so is probably not correctly depicted. Also it includes an elf man maybe that's how they do it over there.

They are both wearing blue and purple hues. The woman has a ridiculously long semi-opaque skirt billowing out behind her likes she's in a movie or something.

My first artfight attack for copicdragon. I fell in love with the character's jacket. #artfight #artfight2026 artfight.net/~Staticgirl

Copicdragon's character Ragnar ( https://www.instagram.com/copicdragon/ ). A young boy with a light tan and black hair raises his goggles as if to draw them down and go ride away. He has a brown leather jacket and biker's trousers. He sits amongst a ruined world.

My artfight team card. Team mystery. Shows my first 5 characters: Jabez the demon, Amy the kitchen-maid alchemist, Mistress Hannah the housekeeper, Detective Sergeant Freya McKenzie and Orla the elf. All from the same universe, different timelines.

June 24th is Make a Terrible Comic Day. I have made a truly awful comic during my lunch break. It's too hot. #makeaterriblecomicday2026 I did step out the door earlier and then regret it.

A terribly drawn comic in which I step out the door and am immediately burnt to a crisp by the evil sun. Comics me is about 30 years younger than real me, there is no need to frighten people.

Staticgirl @superstaticgirl.bsky.social · 22/06/2026

This is well worth your time. This comic is dream-like, impressionistic, sophisticated. I feel like I am dropped in this complicated world without a guidebook. The artwork is so elegant. I love how ‪@decassette.bsky.social‬ uses negative space. It's beautiful.

Doing a bit of colouring. This is quite nice, of course Bluesky chooses the most boring bit of the image for the thumbnail... #wip

A man rides on a chestnut pony down a muddy track towards a distant fenland. A few other stragglers are hurrying along the track towards a distant glinting river. A barn owl is quartering a ploughed field looking for prey. The twilight is lengthening into night. It's cold and everyone wants to get home before the curfew.

Finished my comic page early so thought I would do a wee bit of fan art. Anyway, these girls are the Four Marys. Their comic ran for over 40 years in Bunty. This is what I wanted to do when I grew up.

Four young girls in British School uniforms. From left to right Mary Simpson, a scholarship girl, Mary Radleigh, who was a Lady but never a snob, Mary Field who was good at art and Mary Cotter who was Sporty Mary. They all went to a boarding school and had 'thrilling' adventures that seemed to go on forever. I loved them.
