Day 5. Ravenous (1999). First seen this in theaters when it released in '99 & have rewatched it countless times over the years. Glad this picked up a cult following but still an underrated, darkly quirky classic. Goddamn, what a great off-kilter score. #31DaysOfHorror #October #horror

Day 4. Final Destination 3 & The Evil Dead (1981). Evil Dead is such a high effort, stylish debut feature film. I love everything about this film. It is my favorite of the franchise. Watched the 4k transfer (1080p Blu-ray, though, no 4k tv) & it looked fantastic. #31DaysOfHorror #October #horrorsky

#31DaysOfHorror Day 2. Plan was to watch Evil Dead Burn on HBO but the gf isn't home to watch it with me yet. In the meanwhile, I rewatched Evil Dead Rise. I quite like it. Ellie is a great deadite and the creepy apartment building is a cool setting for an Evil Dead. #horror #October #horrorsky

Day 1 down. Rewatched Final Destination (2000) so it looks like it'll be Final Destination week. They're all a bit dumb but I love the first 2. Bloodlines was good, too, so looking forward to that one. I know what happens in the middle bunch but are less familiar with them. #October #31DaysOfHorror

First #horrormovie of October was David Cronenberg's Rabid (1977). Stylistically a little dry but perfectly Cronenberg. I'm amazed how thematically consistent he's been throughout his career. Watched on Tubi. Still plan on fitting a blu-ray watch in today. #31DaysOfHorror #Halloween #October

#LastFourWatched Accidental double-double feature! A pair of early 90s movies about undercover cops & a pair of early 80s movies about someone wronged waging war in the streets. Filling in some egregious action classics blind spots. Bangers all around. #filmsky #LetterboxdFriday

List of four movies and their star ratings...
First Blood (1982). 4 stars.
Ms .45 (1981). 3 and a half stars.
Point Break (1991). 4 stars.
Deep Cover (1992). 4 stars.

#LastFourWatched Mando & Grogu was more fun than expected. A simple, one-off adventure was what I wanted. Atlas was a bit dull but I respect the effort. Sicario was fucking amazing. Child's Play (1988) is a classic. Chucky is a franchise whose whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. #filmsky

Movie posters and star ratings for the following four movies:
Child's Play (1988) with 3 and a half stars.
Sicario with 5 stars.
Atlas The Animated Movie with 2 and a half stars.
The Mandalorian and Grogu with 4 stars.

Watched SO MANY movies this month but here's my #LastFourWatched. Finally watched Within the Woods. So much of the Evil Dead DNA is present. Had to rewatch Evil Dead, of course. The Drama was excellent & unexpected. Hokum was good. I hope Damian McCarthy keeps delivering these solid, creepy flicks.

Unintentional analog horror theme in the most recent additions to my blu-ray collection. All feature some form of monster, spirit, or corpse traveling through television sets. Particularly excited about TerrorVision & Trick or Treat. Underrated 80s camp horror classics. #horror #filmsky

Photo of three blu-ray cases. First, the Ringu collection box set. Next, a double feature blu-ray release including TerrorVision and The Video Dead. And finally, the 1986 film Trick or Treat.

#LastFourWatched Fallen Angels is so goddamn stylish. Video Dead is terrible but also charming w/ stellar make-up fx. Beast to Die had me then lost me right at the very end. Ring is a classic. Also, 3 of these 4 I watched on Blu-Ray. Long live physical media! #filmsky #LetterboxdFriday

#LastFourWatched Tom Atkins & Bruce Campbell taking on a Maniac Cop? Classic B movie. Masters of the Universe was more fun than expected but the humor fell flat for me. Aang was enjoyable but painfully clear it was made for a theatrical experience. Supergirl was disappointing but fine.

#LastFourWatched One of the weaker Zatoichi films, imo. Ready or Not 2 was good but the sister drama did not work for me. Twin Peaks alternate pilot is great. I prefer this version of Sarah's "vision" over how it plays out in the canon episodes. Silver Bullet is a nostalgic, slightly cheesy classic.

#LastFourWatched The great Zatoichi rewatch is upon us! I revisit the series often but finally picked up the Criterion box set collecting movies 1 - 25. So it's time for a full rewatch. Enjoying them even more this time around, rating several of them 1/2 star higher than the last viewing.

#LastFourWatched Grappler Baki was a well animated, surprisingly brutal 90s OVA. Blazing Fist was a tad overlong but an enjoyable Takashi Miike flick. Three Amigos was disappointing. Drive is in my top 4 and, yeah, still love it. Also watched Obsession & it lived up to the hype for me. #filmsky

#LastFourWatched Kung Fu Hustle is ridiculous fun despite it's flaws. Laura is an enjoyable, smartly written, & somewhat goofy noir / mystery. Rear Window is a fucking masterpiece. Battle Royal High School is a batshit insane 80s OVA that throws the kitchen sink at you for 60 minutes & its awesome.

I'd say it's my 3rd favorite David Lynch film. Re-watched FWWM last week, too, which may knock Lost Highway out as my #1.
