As if American taxes weren't bad enough, it turns out that the CITY I'm from is demanding me to file taxes with them too for all the years I was in Japan. I must file taxes for a CITY I wasn't a resident in for an entire decade, just to tell them I wasn't even there

At 33 years old, I'm only now starting to consider if I should make a Linkedin or not. I'm in a kind of dead end field anyway, but since I only get contractor work I literally have zero professional references lmao. Makes me wonder if I should have one for the future

Americans, don't forget to register to vote / double check that you're still registered! The election on 11/3 is going to be an important one. American citizens living overseas, you can still vote and you still have time to register for a mail in ballot!

I'm exorbitantly excited for maplestory classic to come out. Can't wait to make my teenage dream come true, make a DK and be uber 1337z0rz like Tiger. Though I know it's going to get shutdown in 2 months just like MS2 😅

Mewt was always so bright and cheery despite his constant health problems. The world would be a better place with more people like him, but now there's one less. You'll be missed friend

Whenever I tell people I live by Liverpool they're always like, "oh cool, have you been to Ringo's grandmother's ex-husband's childhood Tesco that inspired their song Corner Shop" and I'm like I barely even like the Beatles 😭

The Fifth Season, it's a post-apocalyptic fantasy about a broken world, mages who can telepathically control tectonic plates, and a society who treats those mages like monsters despite needing them to survive regularly occurring earthquakes. Very unique fantasy book

Happy 250th to a nation I view as a loved one turned drug addict; a decade ago you took a turn for the worse, and now you've changed so much I don't think there's any going back But when I visit and see the beautiful nature and friendly people, I really, really hope you can get better. 🇺🇸

The worst thing about the heat wave is that sweat = no cuddles

020

SuperRamen @superramen.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

I kinda get the British heat thing. At 30C it's pleasant outside with the wind, but the buildings are made to trap heat in, so it's hotter inside than out. No one has an AC because a lot of buildings don't have a way to vent the air out. It's not just about not being used to it

Report after living in the UK for 8 months: On rare occasion some days break the pattern, but it's been 13C (55F) every day here, usually with no sun. I'm not sure if seasons are even supposed to exist here or not because fall, winter, and spring have been almost identical

I can confirm that you can dream in a language when you've learned it and that language is present in dreams and not just thoughts. I keep having dreams bringing me back to Japan, just had a chat with my old boss last night in one. Wish I could see him again

Starting today the minimum wage in the UK has risen to £12.71 ($16.92 USD) I'd really love to do more self-employment (Japanese tutoring, translating, etc.), but idk how I can keep up with that kind of pay 😅 There isn't a whole lot of incentive to do skilled labor here either
