My most popular Instagram post in a long time is about... toast.
Screengrab from my Instagram story post which is a photograph of two slices of toasted bread. One has been through a hotel toaster - you know the ones that are a conveyor belt under a grill - one time and is barely visible toasted. The other piece has been through twice and is so toasted it is borderline burnt in places.

Staircase "B"
Photograph taken in low light of a doorway in a brick wall with a light overhead. The floor Infront is concrete slab paving. The door, which is a gate actually, is open and inside the door is an illuminated stairwell. Over the doorway is a sign that says "Staircase "B"" with the "B" in inverted commas for some reason.

#UniversityChallenge is back on Monday! @samknives.bsky.social @chrislemin.bsky.social @chrishall62.bsky.social
Passage from the Wikipedia article for the Norwegian sports commentator and journalist Bjørge Lillelien, who delivered the famous line "Maggie Thatcher, can you hear me? ... Maggie Thatcher, your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!" in jubilation after Norway's 2–1 victory over England in a World Cup qualifier.

The passage reads "Following Manchester University winning University Challenge against the University of Cambridge Pembroke College in March 2012, a commentator for the Manchester student newspaper observed "We have beaten Pembroke College, Cambridge! Cambridge, birthplace of giants. Rab Butler, Clive James, Ted Hughes, William Pitt the Younger, Eric Idle, Peter Cook, Bill Oddie! Bill Oddie, can you hear me? Your boys took a hell of a beating!""

Adrian Chiles is a broadcaster, writer and Guardian columnist
Excerpt from an Adrian Chiles column for the Guardian.

I was famous once, and I’m quite sure I let my ego race ahead of any talent I had and became insufferable. But even in my prime – if that’s the right word for it – had I happened to get married, it would not have occurred to me to book out the Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge and flash the happy tidings up on big screens for the interest of bewildered drivers on the ring road beside it.

Speaking of Stourbridge, as I sit writing this in a coffee shop here, I recall that the band Pop Will Eat Itself were formed in the town. Did pop eat itself? Will it? Swift seems to have her knife and fork out. I’m waiting for the moment that the world has enough, when enough people look up at that billboard and say: “Yeah? And?”

Section from a stone found by a guy called John at the epicentre of the Tunguska event (30 June 1908), that he thought might be a fragment from the meteor. Turned out to be of terrestrial origin but is still pretty cool.

I don't know which is worse. That people can't tell, or people don't care.
Screengrab from an AI video doing the rounds of a domestic cat facing down a pair of lions at a zoo. Both lions at some point have their heads pop through metal railings which they absolutely could not fit. Could a domestic cat be at a zoo? Maybe. Would you have lions that accessible? I'd hope not. Again, it's just all so much bullshit but it's "funny" so who gives a shit right? The post currently has 5.8k likes and 1.6k reposts.

Ok, fine. But even allowing for some loss of detail through compression of the image, there's no way that text matches up with other shots of Tesco cleaning robots. Just because an actual image of Canterbury has been used as the start point doesn't mean it's been made up.
