1 month useless lawn grass patch to a native planting bed update! Sneezeweed on the left put on some absolute HEIGHT in 30 days. Only 4 surviving mammoth sunflowers in the back after critter dug up the other 8 lmao

Veg garden very happee right now....also thank God purple Cherokee tomatoes are looking good...maybe this is the first year ill finally not have blight ridden and cracked open from weird drought x rain combo ones LOL (the endless cherry tomatoes always do fine, not worried about them ever)

Its so cute to see sooo many fireflies just straight napping and chilling all over my veg garden plants on the leaves 🥹 (always have to double take to spare them when I go on a pest killing spree lol)

Transplanted a bunch of volunteer seeded natives that were from last year's native pollinator patch going to seed, but they were popping up in the lawn outside of it so they were gonna get mowed !! Now in what was a weedy unused area btwn veg garden and neighbors fence. Clasping cone flower bloom!

Honestly ngl, genuinely the greatest thing abt living next door to someone with a big fenced backyard of dobermans....is that it keeps all the squirrels and deers away from the area by default, since the veg garden is right next to the fence...pog dog stank...countin my blessings on that one lol

UPDATE PHOTO... couple months ago turned this bare ass useless patch of grass beneath the 2 nashi pear trees into a dedicated native pollinator area! (I already have a couple from seed mixes started last year, but i wanted this to be deliberate individual plantings!!) From end of March, and now!!

amount of japanese sweet potatoes last year from just 1 slip.........this year we planted 5 and are trying out all purple okinawa variety since they are the hardest to find anywhere to buy!!

the amount of weekly tomato harvest from last year.........yes it all goes into making sauce for storage..........yes i just ran out of last years stock so let us hope for much bounty this year again!!!!!!!!!
