For this week's #screenshotSaturday - working on randomly generated adventure islands for Alone: Shattered Tribes. Each of them will have a main feature, and some smaller features. This one has the ruins of a fort, guarded by goblins #indiedev #indiegame

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - continuing to work on weather effects for Alone: Shattered Tribes I am trying to avoid going into the snow-shader rabbithole for such a tiny feature - I think a bit of snow on the ground is enough #indiedev #indiegame

For this week's #screenshotSaturday I decided to work a bit more on Alone: Shattered Tribes, adding some features I had wanted to do but didn't have the time for... starting with the weather. #indiedev #indiegame

For today's #screenshotSaturday - working on a trailer for Terra Nautica. It's still very pre-alpha, but it's almost ready to have some assumptions tested #indiedev #indiegame

I was kinda distracted and totally missed that the Steam Summer Sale started. Bit late to the party, but better late than never. #indiedev

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - spent a couple of weeks making the ship designer work using keyboard only, or a controller. Just about done. Wasn't as difficult as I expected, although I'm not proud of some of the code #indiedev #indiegame

So, my game was stuck at 9 Steam Reviews for...ever. And it's very important to reach at least 10. A couple of days ago, someone leaves a 4 word negative review. On one hand... rather upsetting, but on the other hand... 10 reviews! Yaay! #indiedev #indiegame

Slowly getting there in this week's #screenshotSaturday Moving away from the very obvious placeholder blocks and into something a bit nicer. After that, it'll be time to continue on a larger vertical slice #indiedev #indiegame

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - my very very in progress game about piloting a ship and blowing up enemy ships is gradually getting a glowup. Still needs quite a bit of work, but I'll get there... #indiedev #indiegame

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - been working on the levels for Terra Nautica - which enemy ship types appear for each wave (there's a large degree of randomness) Now I just need to test it out, and it'll be ready to share #indiedev #indiegame

I think A fits the theme best, but it's not that good for readability. So perhaps A for Titles/Subtitles and B or D for text?

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - continued to work on Terra Nautica. Still very very much in the concept stage, but I have the game loop working now finally :) Now just to flesh it out somewhat, and it'll be ready for validation. youtu.be/tl5G1e_9EWw #indiegame #indiedev

Tomorrow, if all goes right, I'll be releasing a small free update for Alone: Shattered Tribes which will include the ability to place certain decorations outside. So here's a pic for #screenshotSaturday #indiedev #indiegame

For this week's #screenshotSaturday... Following a fan's suggestion to make torches available to be constructed outdoors, I'm taking it a couple of steps further and adding a whole bunch of outdoor decorations. Like the benches, flowers, and banners seen below. #indiedev #gamedev

For this week's #screenshotSaturday. A player suggested that you should be able to put torches outdoors, so I am very happy to oblige. I'm adding a decoration section to the build menu, so in the next version of Alone, players can add the aforementioned torches, and more... #indiedev #indiegame

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - working on Terra Nautica - I've improved the look of the water, and continued to work on different sized hulls - including the static fortress. I'm soon ready to release the 0.0.1 preview :) #indiedev #indiegame

This week I decided to redo how runes work since the original plan wasn't so fun. Now they collect charges based on defeating specific enemies, and then you can invoke a bonus which you can recharge and boost by continuing to defeat even more... #screenshotSaturday #indiedev #indiegame

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 31/05/2025

For today's #screenshotSaturday - Alone's next milestone will include runes which can be attached to weapons to give a powerful boost. And what better way to find them then by looting them off this special room which appears in certain, dangerous levels of the crypt? #indiedev #indiegame

Android, is the situation any better on iOS ?

Yesterday I tried to find some simple arcade-type mobile game to install to while away a few minutes. Yet all the games now have limited energy, premium currency, temporary boosts, and excuses to interrupt you and get you to commit to regular play. When did things become so toxic...

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - continuing to expand the new terrain code to work for the missions and the forest. Also went with a brighter looking grass texture, think I'm getting somewhere finally :) #indiedev #indiegame

063

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 27/04/2025

Unfortunately the game was always programmed to work with a 2D terrain, and it's late to change now, so it'll have to remain flat.

120

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 26/04/2025

I was finally convinced that terrain was the way to go instead of trying to make the square tiles look good. Looking much better now I think - still a work in progress though - need to add some proper patchy grass and some other things. #screenshotSaturday #indiedev #indiegame

For this week's #screenshotSaturday - been trying to make the map a bit more attractive. Since it's procedurally generated and tile-based, it's a bit harder than I thought. Still, I seem to be getting somewhere. #indiedev #indiegame

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 15/03/2025

For this week's #screenshotSaturday... The next milestone will see some large Trader changes coming. For a start, they will always bring one exotic good, they will have better quality items for sale, and slots will be limited by your upgrades #indiedev

A screenshot from a game. The player character is seated in front of a trader, inside a trade post building.

An interface is open which shows a list of items which are available to be bought.

Fail early. Find what you think will make your game special, focus on that, and have other people test how fun it is. Otherwise you might spend months and years working on a game which was never going to be fun.

Alone - Runes - A look at Runes news

The next milestone for Alone is called "Rune" - and in this dev diary we'll dive into what they are and how they will work.

042

Super Llama Games @superllamagames.bsky.social · 01/03/2025

For this week's #screenshotSaturday, Alone's next milestone is called "Rune", so I'm working on well, Runes. Runes can be embedded in weapons and can give a whole range of bonuses depending on the rune. Embedding them involves a ritual in the shrine... #indiedev

A screenshot from a game. The player character is bowed in front of an altar with her arms outstretched. There are geometric patterns around the altar.

The interface shows that a copper mace has a rune embedded called "Goblin Bane", and shows the description of the effect.

For this week's #screenshotSaturday... With the undead having received some new units last time, it's time for nature to start showing its teeth (heh) The forests will be getting just a bit more dangerous in the next milestone of Alone. #indiedev #indiegame

A screenshot from a game. The main character is in a forest. The forest has wolves surrounding the player.

The player has found a bear cave. The bear is advancing on the player.
